that guy has awesome pants on.
Those were great pants, I can also hear the Hokie Pokey in the background.
They could announce one of three things to make me happy:
1. that I could have a helicopter ride to and from (I'm deathly afraid of the traffic situation),
2. I get free tix (way too expensive for my blood)
3. they have scheduled a home/home to go with this
none of the three are particularly likely.
They are selling tickets for like 40 dollars.
Wow, that's pretty cheap. I guess the traffic concerns are my excuse for watching it in my pajamas on my couch.
Metallica is playing Enter Sandman!? s/
Blah blah blab Nascar blah blah

Get to the point
I find this comment paired with your name extremely ironic
Good point, didn't even notice. Guess I deal with mainly Fords.
1896 = The last time we played each other /s
#sauces, but ones who would know
This game is essentially going to be the culmination of a week long festival. There will be concerts set up all week for anyone in the area, for a variety of music. Do not know the names of any bands, but its going to take a great event to an epic one.
I have smelled these same sauces here around Bristol as well. It's what they do for the Nascar races, so it makes sense.
They have announced a program called "Battle Friday"
Oct 2nd tickets go on sale. Onsite sale at BMS.
On site sale for tickets on 10/2
"I got tickets" Bumper stickers OH YEA definitely rocking that on my Schwinn 5 speed.
Oct 2nd lottery ticket sales will launch online.
This "announcement" is an enormous waste of time and resources. Just give a press release.
Yea that's what I'm thinking. I just want to see VT sell out their allotment.
This guy is talking like these tickets are already all sold out except for this allotment. I can't imagine that's the case.
I can totally see corporation partnership taking a big chunk of the tickets like at bowl games. Meaning the real fans are stuck with nose bleed sections and goal post views
There are many, many seats here where you will be better off watching this on your phone, assuming you can get a signal.
Supposedly the schools were "guaranteed" to have quality seats to sell for themselves.
define 'quality'.... Cause I'm pretty sure every seat there is going to suck
The 1,000 or so field level seats won't be bad. But that's about it.
As far as they're concerned, it probably is the case. The schools bought the tickets from BMS, so those tickets are gone, NASCAR got its share, so those tickets are gone... the only tickets that are left for BMS to sell are these tickets, which are just the remainder.
Online lottery entries will be available on 10/2 through 11/2.... 4 tickets per entry
Maybe I am in a grumpy mood but I swear who ever does the promos for this event really need to contact our AV club for advice of raising the HYPE factor!!
That.was.lame.
Frank, what'd you think of the major announcement?
maybe this has been answered before, but will there be student allotted tickets or do I have to go general admission?
Very likely there will be. Also I'm sure VT has a bunch stashed away to offer through season ticket packages next year
On the press release here it says anybody that already reserved tix can request parking and camping spots when the ticket forms go out this fall. So that includes people that reserved tickets what seems like 5 years ago right?
So when is VT going to open up their ticket sales of their allotment to the general public through the school? It was only for season ticket holders and hokie club members before and they hadn't sold out.
It looks like VT will end priority ticket sales Oct 1st. So a wild guess would say open to general public soon after that?
Although it's been referenced, I suppose someone should say outright that people can still reserve tickets for this via Hokietickets.com until October 1 if they're hokieclub members.
Last chance for priority, and those are supposed to be the best seats, unlike what they do for bowl games sometimes.
I'm still dumbfounded why anyone would want to go to a speedway, where the angles on the proposed field will absolutely suck, the distance between the field and the stands will be 100 yards, and there is no way the good seats will truly be available to fans at a reasonable price. I'll watch on TV, and continue to be utterly befuddled by anyone going to the game...
Ric Flair's opinion of Bristol Motor Speedway's PR Department?

From the promo's they showed, it was clear that Beamer is a central character. More than ever, I expect him back next year.
Which, ironically, will mean that RichRod's first game as HC for VT will be against WVU in FedEx in 2017. That will be.....interesting.
So, am I reading this right?
-If you aren't in Hokie Club (where you can pre-reserve tickets), you aren't guaranteed tickets unless you are physically at Bristol Motor Speedway on Oct 2?
-Otherwise, you have to enter a lottery, and aren't guaranteed spots?
I'm so confused.
there's plenty of tix to go around. They are just trying to push sales for their cash flow.
Yeah, I don't see this badboy selling out.
So far only Hokie Club members and season ticket holders have been able to reserve tickets. I believe VT still has an allotment that they will release to the general public, probably this fall. At least that is my understanding of how it is going to work.
The tickets at the speedway on Oct 2 are geared toward locals who want to attend the game.
So people who have been to Bristol before.
Recommendation for campground me and three of my best friend's campers should go?
