Wish list vs. Furman

There was one of these threads leading up to anOSU. Never thought the following Saturday would hold just as much intrigue as the opener.

What do you want to see out of our team against what should be a completely outmatched opponent? Will anything the team does against an FCS opponent, on either side of the ball, make you feel more hopeful for the prospects of this season?

What will you be keeping an eye on against the Paladins?

if we don't put up 200+ rushing yards I will be baffled.

Will we see any change or improvement from Motu?

I've never been all that passionate about who starts or gets PT over last week's starter, but in this one case I'm going to make an exception: I really want to see Nijman start at LT and see how he does there. Overall, I want to see dominance from the Tech OL after a solid showing against the Buckeyes.

Agreed.

I think at this point Motu is a known quantity. He either needs to be replaced with someone who can fill the right gaps, or Foster needs to game plan away from his glaring weakness. Given the reps he's had at that position, and that he doesn't appear to be improving, I think it's probably best he be given limited snaps this weekend in favor of getting the backups meaningful reps to learn the position.

I'm not trying to be all negative about him. Just trying to be objective. He'd be great in a different scheme, but he has to be willing & able to hit the right gaps with authority.

He has started 1 game this season.

And all the games Chase Williams was hurt last season. 4? 5? something like that...I'd say half a season and a whole off-season of "you're the guy," without improvement is enough to make a call...

He played a 4 game stretch where the safeties playey terribly and then came in this season against the undisputed best team in the country.

I can tell I'm old school...."best team in the country" don't mean jack s*** to me, i get not being able to get off blocks against that competition, but not being able to make the reads, get in position, etc...nah, that's you not them.

He got trashed by Miami last year and he missed the gap against BC which sprung their QB for their winning TD. Look at the plays that French talks about in his latest write up. Moto is routinely in the wrong gaps and unable to shed blocks. Many times he takes the gap of another and ends up not only getting blocked but getting the other defeder whose gap it is blocked as well or forcing them to take a terrible angle to tackle. See Zeke's 80 yd run. If there isn't proper play by him this week Foster needs to take some serious look at his position. That position has me very worried especially if he plays against GT. If he misses gaps like has a tendency to do in that game GT is gonna have field day.

"I want to punch people from UVA right in the neck." - Colin Cowherd

Everyone got trashed by Miami. Everyone read's French's articles and decides he his just the worst thing ever and always plays badly but if that were the case then Foster would see that too and pull him. There is a reason he led the team in tackles when he was starting. He has made some mistakes but he is a baller.

The problem is his mistakes often lead to touchdowns by the other team. If he's a baller them he needs to show it in the games not just practice. I want him to succeed and hope he comes out against furman and blasts them.

If you don't want to recruit clowns, don't run a clown show.

"I want to punch people from UVA right in the neck." - Colin Cowherd

So do mistakes by the safeties in run support and their were plenty of those in that 4 game stretch too.

Just being real, people have been banging the drum on Motu's shortcomings for way, way longer than French's OSU writeup. People here were pushing the panic button after the spring game. If anything, French urged patience and defended Motu. This latest writeup, if anything, is basically admitting the consensus on the board was right all along.

Too many people are complaining about a guy that has limited field experience because they want a 5 year senior playing and we just don't have that.

We've had plenty Mike LBs over the years that weren't 5th year seniors that played far and away better than anything we've seen out of Moto... If it isn't clicking for him then why not give someone else a shot - especially since we have a FCS game this week, it seems like the perfect opportunity to do so

Starting an undersized player with no experience isn't going to get the job done once ACC play hits. These three games are going to be used to get Motuapuaka more experience and get the back up some playing time to establish depth.

Chase Williams was listed at 215 last year... I'll take an 'undersized' player that makes the correct read over any size player that isn't

I most want to leave the game with everyone definitively knowing who the QB1 is. Not just the coaches saying they're going to rally behind someone, but that somebody puts on a really good performance and leaves no room for doubt.

Bonus:
- AM shows improvement
- OL backs up what appeared to be a much improved performance against the Bucks and dominates the LOS.

No uncertainty at the QB position

wow, I completely disagree. I prefer to see our 1st string dominate and have a huge lead by halftime, so our 2nd string can play 2nd half, and either 1 or 2 of our backup QBs play or split time the 2nd half. Either top 2 or all 3 of our QBs need to use this game to get a little experience under their belts. I have no problem with platooning QBs either, like we did in the past with Glennon/Tyrod. It is the best way to make sure we can compete in remaining games in case one QB gets injured. If you only have Motley playing entire game, then if he gets injured, we almost assuredly will lose that game bringing in completely untested backups. Based on our current situation, we need more than one QB with true game experience going into ACC play...

First, I'm a VT alum and one of the most dedicated Hokie football fans on the planet. I've been lurking and occasionally posting on TSL and TKP for as long as these sites have been around, and this is the first attempt by anyone to joke or call me a troll. Do you even know what a troll is? My post was definitely serious. I didn't mean that I didn't want to have only one starter, what I really meant was I didn't want only one Hokie QB to get all the playing time. There's a difference. I had no problem with Glennon and Tyrod splitting reps because frankly I think it was working at the time - it gave us better QB depth, it got Tyrod some experience since they already pulled his shirt, both QBs were so different that it made it pretty difficult for opposing D's to prepare for our offense, and finally we had no OL (so we needed Tyrod on the field), but Glennon was a pretty decent downfield passer so we also needed some of that...anyway, I got my wish today with all 3 of our QBs getting playing time. Maybe you are the troll?

HH4455

I don't think he meant any offense to you. I think most people on here are glad that all the QBs got some reps today.

Onward and upward

I upvoted your original post as well as this one. Not sure why some people thought you were trolling. It appears that the coaches agreed with your thoughts on getting all 3 QBs some work today. Good comment.

Ditto

Onward and upward

thanks. I definitely took offense to the troll thing...
most importantly, we won today and looked pretty good doing it...now on to beating Purdue!

HH4455

So....Im not sure if we are disagreeing or not. It sounds like what you're saying in your scenario, we know who is the clear cut QB1/QB2/etc. What I am saying is at the end of the game against Furman, I want there to be no question who the starting QB is outside of Brewer.
Also, I disagree with the QB rotation thing. We need one guy in there so he can build rapport with his guys and not second guess everything he does because he is afraid he's going to get pulled for the guy he's rotating with. We actually say Tyrod improve vastly once he was no longer rotating with Glennon for example

"The Big Ten is always using excuses to cancel games with us. First Wisconsin. Then Wisconsin. After that, Wisconsin. The subsequent cancellation with Wisconsin comes to mind too. Now Penn State. What's next? Wisconsin?" -HorseOnATreadmill

Plus, I think that Glennon would have been as successful if not more successful than his younger brother if he

A.) had a competent OL and
B.) didn't have TT breathing down his neck. Since he knew he was going to be yanked if he made the wrong decision, he didn't make any and ended up holding the ball until he was crushed by the defense.

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

cool, yeah we sort of, essentially, kind of, in a way, partially...agree. All that really matters is that we win. I do want 2 or 3 of our QBs to get playing time. I liked when Motley had his package last year and this year when Brewer was starter, and I liked Lawson getting in there today, and I'm glad Durkin got in today...and I'm fine with Motley being #1, but I just want QBs 1-2 or 1-3 to have experience so if there's another injury in an ACC game (that it isn't an automatic loss)...and I like making it harder for opposing teams to prepare for us (or our different QB packages)...

HH4455

Leg for making me chuckle. And on that note, I completely agree with you here

Agreed, if I remember correctly, he is the back that would hit the holes the best. That was the big problem with jcc and trey.

At the risk of downvotes and not trying to open up a can of worms or even try to re-up this discussion, but the name Shai McKenzie still just makes me cringe a little inside for obvious reasons. Not saying he's not an asset in the least but; the guy's a baller. But it will be a little tough for me to root for him going forward. If what some of my #sources told me about the Reavis situation is indeed accurate, I'm not sure why Shai was not immediately permanently dismissed from the team. I know Reavis isn't technically permanently dismissed, but still.

I'm downvoting this comment and here is why. There is absolutely no reason to make slanderous suggestions about current or former players which are unsubstantiated. It breeds rumors and speculation that is generally unhealthy for all involved. First off, you know that you'll get some reaction by 'teasing' a speculative rumor by implying you have insider information close to a relatively well protected situation. People may think that you know more than you really do. You may not actually know anything and for all I know you're just perpetuating a nasty rumor. Secondly, even if you DO know what is going on, it is irresponsible and juvenile to advertise that you know something that is understood to be unknown by the masses, especially when you have no intention of sharing it. I do not appreciate that you are implying that Shai was in some way involved with the Reavis situation. It is unfair to Shai and Reavis both. It is my firm believe that if Shai was involved on the level that you suggest, the coaches would be aware of his involvement and would have dealt with him appropriately. If he is still on the team, I'm going to give him, and the coaches, benefit of the doubt on this. I caution everyone to take whatever some random internet poster claims to know with a grain of salt. We don't need nasty rumors about current and former players swirling around among the fan base. If you're not going to bring any valuable information to the table, just don't say anything at all. I know we're all curious what really happened and we'd love to know everything that happens behind the scenes, but the fact of the matter is that we just don't know. We have to trust those in charge to make the right decisions. I would argue that Frank Beamer has a pretty good track record so I think it's fair to assume they made the correct decision regarding each player on (or off) the team.

Onward and upward

I do not appreciate that you are implying that Shai was in some way involved with the Reavis situation.

I think it's the opposite. I think the person is saying that based upon Shai's actions and what they believe to be true of Reavis's actions that got him dismissed from the University, that it's surprising to them that Shai is still allowed to be here. That's what I understood. Still, I agree that spreading anything close to a nasty rumor is not needed. We know nothing of Reavis's situation and it will likely stay that way. With Shai's case, it's the responsibility of the court to determine what happened and they have done so. Now we can move on.

Thank you for pointing that out. I originally read it as "Shai was somehow involved" but your take on it makes sense as well. If I'm misrepresenting the original poster's comment I apologize for that. It still feels very much like an "I know something you don't know but I'm not going to tell..." type of comment and bringing up the topic without adding anything of value to the discussion does nothing but spark speculation and rumors. That is my main issue with the comment.

Motley, Durkin and McMillian. I'd like to see Motley have a good run as qb1. I really want a local kid to get the job done and done well. Durkin, from what I've read here is Logan-esque and that excites me. McMillian seemed to be one step away from breaking out a long run against aOSU. Shai is back, so maybe McMillian won't be getting the ball much. After all, this is just a wish list.

So do I, but after last time, they put me on that list. So now when I move into a new barn I have to introduce myself and admit what I've done.

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

1) Solid offensive showing. Not necessarily just numbers, but I want to watch our offense function with consistent effectiveness with a new QB.
2) Better reads from Motu
3) Defensive line getting back to business in the backfield. Not worried about this one, just want to see it for my viewing pleasure.

I would like to see a blocked punt or kick, a lot of TD's, and a W.

@AMB4VT

this.

1. Macro -- I want Lane Stadium to matter as a home-field again. We've lost that. An electric atmosphere won't happen this week with the rain and a 80% full stadium, but we need to get back to a home field winning streak.

2. QB -- Honestly, I don't know what I want to see. Do I want to see Motley tear it up, run for 115 and throw for 3TD's and 225? Sure, that would be great. Or do I want Lawson to get meaningful snaps and look great? Or do I want to see that Durkin can in fact pass a football and can also run over everyone? No idea what to hope for at QB. I hope the all play well but that we start to identify a plan.

3. Running game -- 250 yards. Aim high, running QB.

4. Turnovers -- Us, none. Them, a lot. Get after their QB, force bad passes, run them back until you hit the wall.

5. Mike LB -- I guess the most logical thing is for Motu to get better. I don't see a lot of options out there.

6. Health. Lots of it. On both sides.

On point 4, yes yes yes. I want to see DBU put up 3+ INT's.

Keeping it simple. I agree.

I found TKP after two rails from TOTS then walking back to my apartment and re-watching the 2012 Sugar Bowl. I woke up the next day with this username.

Assuming this is 6 offensive touchdowns, one each by defense, kick and punt return teams, two safeties and a field goal, just to keep Slye's leg fresh.

MLB- somebody else plays a majority of the snaps. Coaches award starts according to practice performance, fine...as soon as he starts struggling again (he will), somebody else is in to get reps and try to fix the issue.

QB- 200 Yards passing for the TWO quarterbacks that must play in this game (Motley and whoever)

RB- 100 yards on less than 15 carries for at least 2 backs.

HH4455

We don't have another MLB so you are out of luck. I think Motuapuaka will improve a lot in the next three games when we aren't playing one of the most talented teams in the country.

Bud was really high on huelskamp prior to his acl last season. He's extremely undersized, but he may get some burn.

Sean Huelskamp very well might push for playing time. He's tiny for an inside linebacker, but if he can get to the right spot and put a ballcarrier on the ground, the job is his.

I wouldn't mind seeing him get some looks on Saturday, see what he has got.

Forget putting the ball carrier on the ground. If he can just get to him, that'd be an improvement.

Every second counts

Except we won't play a true power team until Pitt, at which point he'll be exposed again. Don't get me wrong, I've been leading his parade all offseason...but we're not gonna see but a few situations where he should need to do more than call the defense and cover the short zone or QB spy. He won't need to go downhill to play good. The few situations where he does need to flow through traffic and make a hard hit behind the line, he won't. Those few situations, after being coached up like a mofo for over a year to do just that, should get him pulled. We have LBs with experience at MLB, and we have unexperienced MLBs, I don't know who the best choice is, but I expect Bud to make up for his bad scheme choice for OSU by picking the right guy to "back-up" Motu, and replace him when the time comes, aka Pitt.

Get out of here with all the hate. I'm going to trust the best DC in college football, who happens to coach MLB, to decide who plays. I don't care who plays the position as long as they are the best option and right now Bud thinks it is Motuapuaka.

Hate? Is that what you call expecting the best in the business to bounce back and make-up for his one bad day? Or is it the Motu you want me to support? Well, sure. After Pitt, until then, he's consistently made me eat crow and I'm tired of it.

TKPC #666 ...man that was long wait...

He did get out-schemed at times and prepared for some things they didn't end up seeing, but the players have been fairly vocal that a lot of the defenses issues were not executing the schematic adjustments that Bud made during the game.

Yeah, and part of that is them, the other is him putting them in that position...RVD or Clarke vs Zeke and Jones? That's where Dadi and ekanem should have been, crashing the mesh point, and disrupting the entire option game, pulling the oline wider and creating holes for the tackles...I'm not the coach. Hence I expect him to do his thing, and make everyone worried about the D's performance shut-up. He'll do it with a different personnel scheme though.

WR Development, Bucky stepping up, emergency of at least 1 RB, continued OL cohesion, DL pressure/sacks, LB gap assignment/tackling, DBs covering and turning for the ball.

If the DBs are turning for the ball, then they're gonna get pulled or burned. TG technique is to put their hands in when the receiver goes to catch...

“I remember Lee Corso's car didn't get out of the parking lot.” -cFB
TKPC #666 ...man that was long wait...

And I hate that technique, hence it's on my wish list to have DBs trying to make plays on the ball again. IMO, you're more likely to get PI (notice those have gone up lately) when you play with the technique they are using and less likely to get any turnovers.

i don't see/know of any other DB coach using this technique.. I love Gray but we should be able to trust Fuller and the rest of the gang to make plays on the ball instead of reacting to the receiver

exactly my thought process, plus the diagram has already been put out there of how to beat this technique. WRs either cut their routes short and pick up PI calls or the QBs throw jump balls and our guys can't break up the passes. The only way we are going to get INTs this way is when we are in zone coverage or on short routes that the DBs can break on before they are in a trail position.

Thanks for making me remember the ECU game last year /s.

In man to man you play the man, not the ball, on deep routes. Especially in our D where we're frequently playing Cover 0 or Cover 1. You are complaining about 15 yard penalties when looking for the ball will result in 50 yard TD's. High risk, pressure defense.

Let the free safety play the ball. Or just let the pass rush force quick throws on shorter routes that are safer to jump.

Wiley, Brown, Russell, Drakeford, Gray, Banks, Prioleau, Charleton, Midget, Bird, McCadam, Pile, Hall, Green, Fuller, Williams, Hamilton, Rouse, Flowers, Harris, Chancellor, Carmichael, Hosley, Fuller, Exum, Jarrett

Complaining about 15 yard penalties, which could end up in deflections or interceptions if the technique was different. They wouldn't always, or even regularly, end up in 50 yard TDs. Especially when the WRs have already turned for the ball and are in mid-air, so trying to justify those would be 50 yard TDs is absurd.

Not sure what you are talking about in man to man about playing the man not the ball. There are millions of clips out there that will prove you wrong.

Nobody runs as much Man coverage as we do

I wouldn't worry about DB technique too much. They will get a chance to get some picks when the guys they are covering aren't quite as good.

What you really want is more zone coverage then...so you really want the LBs to improve...(yes it's still about Motu)...or you want to change secondary coaches? I'll be honest, I want better Lbs to complement the DL, and those guys are in the pipeline...but for now, man coverage and using the linebackers to run stuff and cover the flats is the best we can do, when the DL and MLB can contain the running game with minimal help (read either the Backer or Whip) we can play more zone, with less holes...

“I remember Lee Corso's car didn't get out of the parking lot.” -cFB
TKPC #666 ...man that was long wait...

No what I want is for the DBs to be able to turn when the ball is in the air and attempt to make a play on the ball not to be forced to watch the WRs hands and attempt to only strip or disrupt the pass.

1) Under 200 yards total offense for them
2) 400+ yards offense for us
3) Bucky to show up
4) Sam to do Sam things
5) A defense that wants to make up for last week
6) The Lane Stadium faithful making as much noise as possible

Since I don't know anything about Furman, this might be unrealistic based on our QB situation, but this is a wish list:

1 - a dominant WIN with VT having a large lead at halftime so 2nd team can play majority of 2nd half.
2 - no injuries
3 - dominant running game, with ball control, large TOP advantage, and 250+ rushing yds min.
4 - dominant defensive performance with lots of sacks, TFLs, and forced turnovers.
5 - No turnovers or penalties from our guys.
6 - No punts, no field goals, because we didn't need to settle for them. If at some point during the game we have a large lead and have 3rd and <5 yds, I'd prefer we go for it to continue to control the ball and keep D off the field.
...wait a minute, this is what I want every game (plus ST big plays)...

7 - Individually, I'd perfer to see the following guys get on the field:
- Mike LB: Husselcamp? starting, with maybe McKinnon and/or Edmunds (hopefully moved over this week) getting some time at Mike. Bud should use this game to evaluate his other options at Mike. I would not mind if Bud started platooning his Mike until someone steps up in a big way, or at least get McKinnon/Edmunds some time at Mike before ACC play.

- QB: I would prefer to see 2-3 QBs play in the game. Motley starts, then either mix in #2 QB (or hopefully we have large lead at half and #2 QB plays 2nd half. I'd prefer to see Lawson, since I think he has largest passing upside, and if he's not going to redshirt, we might as well evaluate him while we try to win the next 3 non-conference games prior to ACC games.

TE/WR - Lots of time for Cline and backup WRs making plays.

They went 3-9 last year in a weaker SoCon conference. Coastal Carolina also had maybe 300+ yards passing, so it seems the Qbs should get some game practice in.

Most of my wishes came true today:
1 - check
2 - partially, I don't think we had anything major, but I know Motu and Bucky got hurt, I hope both will be ok
3 - check (299 rush yds)
4 - check (3 sacks, 4 TFL, 2 INTs)
5 - partially, penalties cost us another TD and INT...
6 - all TDs
7 - check sort of as we did get to see SH some at MLB, although it sucks Motu got hurt
8 - check (Motley started, Lawson played, and Durkin also played)
9 - check (Cline made some plays)

I would love to see a beamerball punt block for td.
All running backs get good reps and all stay healthy.
Not need a qb to win the game due to running game, but no turnovers from any qbs.

Three things I'd like to see are Blocks, Slow Mo, and a 3 team competition....

Blocks by the OLine that is angry that their QB got hurt last week and they take it out on the team they are facing this week. pancakes for everyone by the stack full. Blocks on the punts and kicks to rain down on the Paladins and let them know what Beamerball was first meant to describe.

Slow Mo for the guys who were in a brain freeze mode trying to identify the right gaps or holes to hit. Let them see and attack at a slower mode this week to be followed by quicker reads and progressions in the next few weeks. That goes for the LBs (you know who you are) and RBs who left lots of plus (and minus) yardage on the field last week.

3 team competition between our Offense, Defense and Special Teams to see who can post the most points on the board. Never mind playing up and down to the level of the teams we face, they are nonfactors... this is about the Hokies rediscovering the competitive fire to take it to the house no matter which squad is on the field. I want the days back when one minute you think you may actually be in a game with Tech and two and a half minutes later, you find yourself down three scores and looking around still not sure what... just..... happened.

Yeah. That should do it.

Lets GO!!!!

In order:

A win.
A clear choice for QB. (same as QB success)
The OL to get a second game in a row of looking like they belong there.
The defense to show up and look like they're elite.
A clear choice for RB. (same as RB success)
Some visible chemistry between the QB and TE/WR.

More Malleck!!! Please.

200 yards rushing and 300 yards passing...all by Lawson /s

Now finish up them taters; I'm gonna go fondle my sweaters.

I went to my first Virginia Tech bowl game while I was in the womb.

Bucky Hodges back at QB /s

May we all get what we want and never what we deserve.

1 - Passing proficiency. We all know Motley can run the ball. I want to see quick reads and accurate throws. I want to see the ability to throw down the field.

2 - Defensive dominance. I heard all summer long about how our defense was ranked among our best ever. I didn't see much of that on Monday. I want to see the line getting penetration and making plays. I want to see lock down corners and better linebacker play.

A W and no injuries!

Stuff I'd like to see in the Furman game:

Personnel
Lydon @ Mike
Lawson @ QB

Execution
zero fumbles
Shai up to form
dominant run game
Lawson on time and on target

A million dollars?

Oh, wait, did you mean a wish list of things related to the football game?

There's always a lighthouse. There's always a man. There's always a city.

For the defense I'd like a shutout. Dont' know the last time we shutout a team. Plus get the ball back quickly for so the offense can have as many reps as they can. MLB improve. If moto is the guy then he needs to be able to play like it. If not reps for someone else.

For the offense, a lot of passing. I would like to see Shai and McMillian get the majority of carries. We know what we have in JCC and Trey for the most part. I would like to see how Shai moves after reovering and give more carries to McMillian to get him more game experience. I'd like to get 200 yds of rushing but hopefully not on 40 carries. I mostly want to see competent passers and a QB who looks like he knows the playbook and passing progressions. I hope we come out fully confident in Motely and excited for the other two.

A punt return would be nice just because they are exciting.

A Beamerball touchdown and a shutout. Get back to our roots and let the offense be an experiment.

Win comfortably, play every player that is dressed, and nobody gets hurt.

Five star get after it 100 percent Juice Key-Playing. MAN

play every player that is dressed,

this. if this isn't at least close to happening we have big problems

play every player that is dressed

So if I wear my jersey, there's a chance??

There is nothing in the world like Thursday night in Blacksburg!

After all, I still have four years of eligibility left...

There is nothing in the world like Thursday night in Blacksburg!

Improvement and straight up making Furrman their bitch on, all over, and off the field. Improvement with Motley so that he can take the 4th qtr off. No less than 100 yds rushing and 2 TDs from JCC with better ball protection. Improvement from our defensive secondary (we know and believe what they are capable of) particularly at the safety position (looking at you Frye and Stroman). Moto needs to be replaced. Also, improvement and more use of Hodges. This will be the game to do it. I wasn't all that impressed with McMillan. I'll give him one more chance. Improvement from the WRs. Ford recovered nicely with that TD catch but Philips...facepalm. Supposed to go fwd NOT backwards. Wth was he thinking!? So far unimpressed with Zohan but hopefully gets better.

Yes I want to see a big W on Saturday! Let out some frustration.

I just wanted to comment about Motuapuaka not saying he shouldn't start or whatever but my first thought at the end of the game was he needs to play more physical. He seems to do a lot of left to right sliding and not enough decisive down hill movement. Should be leading the team in tackling like Bruce, Jack and Chase were doing or on pace to doing.

Sean

That's the thing...he wont do it...I dunno why...but we've seen it time and time again, the best he'll do run up to the guy and stand in front of him...

TKPC #666 ...man that was long wait...

1) Win
2) No injuries
3) 2 different 100 yard rushers for us
4) 100 yard reciever
5) 300+ rush, 200+ pass

I want us to put up 60+. It always pains me when we play FCS or other small programs and only manage 27 points. I want pure dominance and I want Lawson to play the entire second half of the game.

I would like to see from our team:

-A blocked kick, doesn't matter what type, but return it for a TD
-A special teams score or two
-A shut out
-A pick-6
-A whole lotta sacks
-No turnovers by us
-And I would like to see A.J. Hughes stay on the sideline except when holding for extra points

Edit:
Let's see how it went:
- Nope, thanks to a rugby kicker that kicked low line-drive punts that didn't make it to the returners.
- Nope, see above comment
- Damn 50 yard field goal that barely made it over the cross bar
_ YES! But I would have never guess that he'd be the one to pull it off.
- Yes there were sacks a plenty
- Yes, good ball control
- A.J. got the second half off, I'll take that.

So, that's 3 and a half out of 7. I got exactly half of what I asked for. Not too shabby.

There is nothing in the world like Thursday night in Blacksburg!

I didn't realize I wanted it, but it was good to see the Horse on a Treadmill again after they didn't play the Shout video last week (or at least I didn't see it if they did).
