Texas Tech band will have to pay $100 per member. This game marks the first time that the Texas athletic department has charged the Goin' Band.

Is this that unusual? They're taking up seats in the stadium. I would certainly hope that we collected ticket proceeds for every seat that was used by the Ohio St band this weekend.

I was hoping that they wouldn't bring their band. I don't believe that we took ours.

"We have a huge stadium and our team is terrible. Attendence is down, what do we do?"

" Charge the other team's band. Those poor bastards have no choice but to watch this trainwreck."

I assume the rationale went something like that.

The Dude Abides

Seems like it would be a wash for teams that play each other every year.

Good, damn band nerds getting free tickets! ;)

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
“I served in the United States Navy"

Well hell if you don't want them to bring a band just say so.

If I'm reading this right, it simply appears to be a cost accounting change and much ado about nothing.

TT will now cover the cost of the tickets for the TT band on their books instead of Texas. And vice versa when Texas travels to TT.

No wonder nobody wants to play them anymore.

If I'm the Oklahoma schools and TCU, I'm starting negotiations with Sankey immediately.
