OT: Guys I lost my mom this morning.

I wanted it to be known that we lost a great Hokie today. Even though I never went to VT nor did any of my family members we still love the school and the football program. My mom was originally from upstate New York and came to VA in the 70s. In the mid 90s my brothers and I all started paying close attention to the rise of the VT football program and we were hooked as the years went by and the teams had better and better results and slowly but surely my mom starting getting into it as well and started cheering for the Hokies just as hard as my brothers and I sometimes even more so. In 2008 I was able to get a couple tickets to the Duke game and my GF at the time was sick so I took the next best thing and I took my mom to the game and she had a blast and Macho sealing the deal with the pick 6 I believe turned her into a hardcore fanatic like us. Almost every year since we have gone to one game a season and for the past few years my brothers have been paying less and less attention to VT but not mom oh no she like I was becoming even bigger fans especially after we went to the 2011 Logan vs Miami game and was apart of the Hokie earthquake. We were not lucky enough to go to a game in 2012 but in 2013 we went to the UNC game and had a blast as Logan had one of his best games of the season and handle UNC rather well. This past season we were really looking forward to see how far the new staff had come in rebuilding the Hokie ACC Powerhouse and like everyone else just ecstatic when we pulled the upset in the shoe. As the season progressed she never lost faith and the last game we would go to together was 2014 Boston College...... Such a melancholy way to spend the last game id watch with her in Lane Stadium to end in the Loss that it did but I take comfort knowing I immediately hugged her when the Hurricane sea parted and Logan ran it in for the game winner. I'v literally only known for about 3 hours and to be honest I'm in a state of calm shock but I'm staying strong and like I'v said before I wanted to let it known to TKP community that we lost a great Hokie this morning and please call or text your moms and tell them you love them, Thanks for helping me grieve guys.

Sorry for your loss.

So sorry for your loss Patrick!!! You now have a very special Hokie Angel.

@AMB4VT

Sorry for your loss, friend. Thank you for sharing your memories.

I am so sorry for your loss, Patrick. My deepest condolences; I can't imagine how you feel. I was fortunate enough to spend yesterday with both my parents. Your last line is right on - call them, talk to them, visit if you can. Life is finite but wonderful.

Your mom sounds like a wonderful Hokie. And she was just that. You don't have to attend or graduate from VT to be a Hokie. If you align yourself with our sense of community and our ideals, cheer our success and commiserate when we come up short, you are a Hokie and we welcome you. I am a VT grad twice over, but I've met a lot of people that love VT just as much as I do but never set foot in a classroom, and I love them for it.

Be well, my friend. We're here for you, because that's what Hokies do.

"Exit light..."

Sorry for your loss. I'm glad you both found a way to be a part of the Hokie community, which is something me and my family enjoy sharing too.

So sorry for your loss. Take comfort in all the wonderful memories and smiles that she blessed you with. You're in our prayers.

Been trying to find the right words all morning, but I got nothin. Incredibly sorry for your loss, LT_3.

My deepest condolences to you and your family. My mom is gone now, too, but she was a big Hokie fan as well. She figured that she sent two sons to Tech, so that made her an instant Hokie. She even got Frank's autograph on a picture while on a cruise to the Bahamas, I believe, that he was on. I miss calling her after victories, she would tease me about my lost voice from screaming. Hopefully, our moms can get together out there on game day and help our beloved Hokies pull through.

So lean on friends and family to help, and know that today, we're all thinking of you.

I'm sorry for your loss. Saying prayers for you and your family.

My condolences on your loss. I can relate. I lost my Dad in October. I proudly wear his maroon VT hat now. I know you miss your Mom, and always will, but keep the great memories close at hand, too.

I am sorry for your loss and you have brought a well deserved and respectful tear to my eye. My dad passed away right after Thanksgiving this past year. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about him in some way but each day it gets a little brighter. He was a huge VT fan and raised me to be one as well. The hardest thing in my life was to lose my dad at the age of 30 and still know I will have questions about being a father that he won't be here to help me with. I know it may not help but if there is one thing I can say to you that has helped me through it all is that life is short and each day is a fresh start. Wake up each day knowing that all the strength, faith, and courage your mom had is also in you and attack life with a purpose to change just one persons outlook each day using the lessons she taught and by the example she lived. Life is difficult but it is moments like these that our parents prepare us for in the hopes that we become the men and women that we should be to our own families and the people around us. You will be in my prayers tonight!

I wish you, your family, and friends all the best during this difficult time. Perhaps you'll find comfort in celebrating her life rather than mourning her loss.

Sorry for your loss, my last name too is also Creekmore, that shocked me seeing you and your moms last names!

FIRST DOWN, HOKIES!

Maybe VT can put 63 points on the board today against Furman in remembrance of your mom, Hokies LT 3~ That will be 9 touchdowns and 9 PATs today boys for Jill Marie Creekmore, please.

I've done some of my best work with smoke, mirrors, and a muleta!

That right there would be down right EPIC!

Well not quite the 63 points we were looking for but if you add up the 2 numbers from our score and put it with the 3 from Furman we get the 63 we wanted! Happy Birthday Mom!

sorry for your loss.

Sorry! Hang in there!

Hey guys sorry to keep posting in this thread and pushing it to the top of the topics list with such a gloomy thread title but yesterday I found something I thought never existed and that is a picture of my mom at Lane Stadium. Well last night I found her camera took out the SD card and found 2 photo files and one to my shock and awe had a few pictures from the 2011 Miami game! So here is a pic of mom just outside Lane Stadium standing with my nephew. Unfortunately for some reason we did not take a picture together that day.
