I was actually surprised with the fight that they gave Notre Dame. I was on a Jet Blue flight when i saw ND's game winning score and i went nuts mid air, only to my fellow passengers dismay. Dude, fuck uva. Anyways, lets caption this. I'll go first with an easy one: This "Cosby Edition" Zima is makin me light headed bro..."

I'm still laughing about it LOLUVA
My favorite part was that it was a Fuller that burned them.
Once all these Fullers start to have offspring, I'm sure they will in turn terrorize UVA. Cavalier fans will be hating the Fuller name for generations to come. LOLUVA
Someone forgot to put air in the Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm-Flailing Wahoo.
Someone forgot to put air in their football season 11 years in a row.
That's what you get for taking football tips from the Patriots.
"No. But its never too late to transfer out of uva. You wouldn't happen to be a quarterback would you?"
"Just kidding, we actually have enough quarterbacks now."
Timeout!
When it comes to Sally Jr., Thomas....you are the father!
Loved how the director chose to linger on that shot of the depressed fan to close out the broadcast.
Bad news, this UVA team looks like it might scrape together 6 or 7 wins on the back of the Johns-Severin connection.
I said this during the off-season, but I thought Uva with Johns under center has what it takes to surprise quite a few folks.
They kept things interesting with UCLA for a bit and now this. Better keep an eye on these Wahoos...
But the deflated sad Cavs fan pic does please me.
Agree completely, Johns looked like a player and he is.
I came away being more unimpressed with the ND defense than impressed with Johns. Yes, he found open receivers more than a few times, but the Irish D didn't get any regular pressure from their line, and the linebackers and backs didn't seem to stick to their receivers very well at all. Underneath routes and crossing routes were there for the taking. They looked nothing like the team that throttled Texas last week.
Which means they keep time cop!
I was slightly disappointed, mainly because a win would have guaranteed London keeping his job for another year...
Just saying...
Exactly. I was pulling for the Hoos for that very reason. We need them to pick up some wins (obviously not against us) and get close to 500 - not showing off, not lagging behind. That way they can re-up Coach Time Cop.
Several shots made the always awesome Agony Of Defeat tumbler page

Did anyone else hear Ed Cunningham call UVA "well coached" during the telecast? I don't think I'd ever heard that said about UVA before.
I'm sure at least one of the unit coaches does his job well.
You must not be old enough to remember the George Welsh years. That was the last time they were well coached.
Anyone else believe in Karma? Threads like this make me uncomfortable + quite frankly, watching that game makes me nervous, b/c that ND team is good. They're better than VT at the moment and if UVA came can hang with them, they can hang with VT. #stillworktodo
I think it's going to be a very tight game this year, just like last year.
I'm right there with you.
I think you underestimate their tendencies to do loluva things. And we tend to play them tougher at Lane North, with our coaches doing their due diligence in getting us ready to face them.
^^This.
I think the last couple of seasons have started the same way. Outlook not too good, they have some halfway decent plays, start looking like they might be dangerous, but still limp into November needing 2 or 3 wins for a bowl.
2014: Lost to UCLA 28-20, beat Louisville.
2013: Beat BYU.
2012: Beat Penn State (eh), hung around @ TCU (27-7).
2011: Beat Indiana, lost to Southern Miss in a close game (Southern Miss went 12-2 and was ranked #19 to end the season).
2010: Lost to USCw by a FG.
So yeah, you could say there is a precedent for a late season collapse.
The uva we see now vs the uva at the end will be different teams.
That one is going to sting them for a bit, if they had won it could have started something. I crushing loss like that... We all know how they sting for a while
They're coming off a last-second, crushing loss and they play an FCS team next week. And we all know how that goes...
Uva has no depth whatsoever, as allways it will catch up to them.
Ours caught up with us in week 1, so...
After stepping in it in the final minutes against BYU, I expect noise state to make Idaho state and loluva pay.
I watched BSU struggle mightily with UW and then cave in vs BYU last night. I don't think this Boise team is all that good, to be honest. I think UVA wins.
If uva wins that, then the smurf turfers really are a bad team. I wouldn't mind if both lost, but go noise boise this time.
Definitely. I know some people here want them to be competitive throughout the football season...
But if Uva never win another football game I couldn't be happier
If they're competitive, then the top in-state kids have a reason to go there. And while their coaches could screw up a wet dream, that's a recruiting problem I don't want to have.
I want them to lose by 50. Every. Single. Time.
Either loluva has a great qb/receiving corp or ND secondary is terrible (or were playing terribly).
johns is quick in the pocket but man those throws were lofted really really bad. Watched the whole game and it was like watching backyard football. notre dame got pressure every play but johns squeaked out and would just throw a lame duck pass that this massive WR would come down with. Has absolutely nothing to do with coaching but everything to do with great chemistry between those two
The loss in the last seconds was classic but even better, london may have saved his job!!!! Please god let it be true!!!!
I am a Notre Dame fan. Yesterday was glorious.
But Matt Johns and Canaan Severin looked pretty good, too.
Ok which loss is "better:" Tech vs anOSU or LOLUVa vs ND?
Ultimately it doesn't matter, unless ND counts as an ACC loss for UVA.
When it comes down to ranking and other considerations, noone is going to fault us for losing to OSU.
This is worth going to see if solely for the cartoon drawing of the Notre Dame victory with the flopped over LOLUVA student in the background
http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/13643969/drawing-conclusi...
Leg up, Horse. That was a really clever cartoon. Thanks.
Maybe if I layover the railing, any of my family that ends up seeing this will think I'm a beach towel and won't realize I'm embarrassing them with my sports rooting choices.
I put this on the other uva thread but in case some people don't read both of them (and I wouldn't blame you; it's uva afterall):
Holy sh*t-that has over 3k faves!
I bet one of them was a certain Colin Cowherd
I felt really dirty cheering for Notre Dame, but it was worth it for the LOLUVA fan reactions ^_^
That's what I'm saying! Why the hell can't a giant blackhole rip open the fabric of space and time and suck these to teams into oblivion for all eternity AT THE EXACT SAME TIME!? Literally.
I thought the picture on the front of the RTD sports section Sunday was a classic for LOLUVA reactions.
18 and a half surrender cobras in one picture?! Most impressive. Also, quite a few jaws getting ready to hit the floor there too.
I thought it was a picture of a box of broken pastel crayolas.
Must have been "J Crew Effect" day
there seems to be at least one fan in wahoo gear celebrating in this picture....just sayin'
More fans in Wahoo gear than......ahhh nevermind... ;)
This is ridiculously funny, thank you AustinHokie.
Also, I spotted two bow ties while I was scanning the crowd for popped collars.
I can honestly say 1) I don't own a bow tie and 2) if I did, I would never think of putting one on before I headed out to a football game (or anywhere for that matter).
I could only find one bow tie, but DAMN DO I WANT TO PUNCH THAT GUY IN THE FACE FOR WEARING A BOW TIE TO A FOOTBALL GAME!!!
I didn't see this guy in the picture, but rest assured he was somewhere in the stadium

The sad thing is, I've seen that guy in Blacksburg. And no, he wasn't a visitor...
Why thank you kind sir...errr...ummm...sire...???
Pink shorts/pink socks / lil' lax bro is my fav.
Also, what's up with all the hiked up socks? Is that in now? Note: I'm not a millennial.
I guess I am technically a millennial (born in '82) even though I have my own home, married, 2 kids, no student debt.
But to answer your question...No...No the hiked up sock look is not now and never has been "in"
It's a lax bro thing. See Exhibit A:
Seems to me that hiked up colored socks are indeed a thing with the late teens/early 20s crowd these days.
So. Much. Pink.
If you have fans that think it's appropriate to dress like this at a football game, then you deserve to lose.
The kid in the 21 jersey over on the left looks confused.
The two LOLUVA fans front and center have LAX and Hoops shirts. Do they not even bother selling Wahooooooooooo football gear anymore?
I'm just impresssed that they got every single LOLUVA fan into one photo
Two days later, and still I laugh.
That would be funnier if it didn't also resemble VT's Ohio State game...
It took me WAY too long to understand what the hell was going on here
Overall, I lol'd at UVA for that; however, I was absolutely gutted for one of my best friends who's a die hard Hoo. Woulda been the best win in program history.
better than beating F$U when they were #1 or whatever?
Beat me to it Max, that's what I get for not refreshing the page after being away from my desk for a while.
I got my name off a hair dryer.
It would've been big, but my Hoo friends still wax nostalgic about stopping Warrick Dunn on the one yard line. I think that's gotta be it for them.
