Bud Foster comments on Purdue Coaches comment on DBU

"We play a lot of press coverage so you're going to get your hands on people and that type of thing," Foster said. "It's no different when I watch everybody else when we watch other people's film. (Tech DBs coach Torrian Gray) coaches them hard, does a great job teaching those guys. I think he kinda needs to watch his own guys there, too. They play a lot of man coverage, too."

Their OC is familiar with Foster...and it goes a little something like this.

Tech (1-1) went 4-1 against UNC while Shoop was there and Foster's defense let up an average of just 15.6 points per game in those contests.

So yeah. I think Bud can go to his tendencies and be just fine.

I specifically remember being impressed with Shoop in the 2011 game. He kept us off balance all game. They added some late TD's to make the score close, but it was a good game plan.

Let their be bloodshed (on the field).

Yes, fully dipped in some kind of dorkness is their for there. It's a slip signifying it shall be their blood which is shed, not ours. Coach Bud shall see to it.

Wonder how much of this comes from their prior history (UNCheat) or from Kevin Sherman being their WR coach?

Speaking if which, do you think Purdue's WRs can block?

We put the K in Kwality

Kevin Sherman isn't Purdue's WR coach anymore. He was hired by Narduzzi to be Pitt's WR coach back in January.

Wiley, Brown, Russell, Drakeford, Gray, Banks, Prioleau, Charleton, Midget, Bird, McCadam, Pile, Hall, Green, Fuller, Williams, Hamilton, Rouse, Flowers, Harris, Chancellor, Carmichael, Hosley, Fuller, Exum, Jarrett

Interesting...that was quick. At least it seems like a promotion for him.

I'll shelf the joke/question about WR blocking until the Pitt game.

We put the K in Kwality

There's a motion to shelf the joke until the Pitt game. Is there a second?

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

but we also have to do things to help our guys beat man-to-man coverage that's not single routes.

Double moves coming, like we saw from anOSU. Hope Fuller and Facyson are ready.

if it was that easy everyone would just do double moves. better block up front if you want to run double moves and have some fast WRs because if not your QB is going to DIE waiting for these moves to develop. also I would go a step further and say fuller gambled knowing we needed a big play. he wouldn't haven't been beating that badly if it was a close game I can almost guarantee he would have played it a little more conservatively.

If the D line gets going we won't have to worry about double moves because they won't have time for routes to develop.

There is nothing in the world like Thursday night in Blacksburg!

Technically, the heels didn't win that '09 game, because that was vacated due to them doing UNCheat things...

Better to take it like a man than run Shoop because we all know its coming..
