Scott Stadium, A Quiet Place to Get Some Reading Done

I saw this on /r/virginiatech this evening and had to share. Picture was originally titled "Classic UVA Football", there's no context other than that.

Lolled again.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

I know there's a Rick Rolled...is there a Rich Lolled?

there's no context other than that.

Because no context was needed.

Reminds me of that pic of a GT student studying on his laptop in the stands during a football game a few seasons back.

He's no good to me dead.

Reminds me of a recent game...

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

Your at Georgia Tech, You can do That!

Crap...its the same guy...does he just go around with ESPN crews to pose for the "sad-insert team here-fan," picture?

TKPC #666 ...man that was long wait...

And how the heck does he always get such good seats?

this'll have to do...close enough, I guess:

Scott Stadium: when the Clemons deep stacks are just too dang loud

You're at UVA, you can Hoo that!

"Exit light..."

I quite honestly can't understand why people do this.

If you're trying to do/catch up on homework, odds are you shouldn't be at the game.

Why not?

Free tickets and most games are probably quiet enough, except for the VT game...

Obviously that's a copy of The Intellectual's Guide to the Rules of American Football.

2026 Season Challenge: TBD
Previous Challenges: Star Wars (2019), Marvel (2020), Batman (2021), Wrasslin' (2022)

Mike London has been looking for his copy, now we know where it is.

Mike London be like

There is nothing in the world like Thursday night in Blacksburg!

Except TimeCop'd be holding it upside-down.

OT: amazes me to this day that he has resorted to an Idiot's Guide while getting beat by his own playbook, which he presumably had the smarts to write in the first place. I don't know if Adam Sandler did any of the writing, but this was genius comedy.

I fully agree that this movie was/is great (and the fact that I first watched it in 99 as we were making our run to the Sugar Bowl while the team on the movie was headed to the Bourbon Bowl made it even more awesome). But here's what I think happened to coach Klein.

He was a genius that came up with these unstoppable plays, until his confidence, his manhood, and his mind was lost. Then along comes Bobby who believes in him and starts to rebuild that confidence. So, in a way he has to relearn how to coach (shown by the Idiot's Guide). Of course at the end he gets his full confidence back and comes up with genius plays to stop a superior team and then to score the winning points.

Ok, I think I just went too in depth on a goofy comedy movie.

Any guess what he's reading? Probably some biography of Thomas Jefferson

Onward and upward

All of a sudden, I found myself in love with the world
So there was only one thing that I could do
Was ding a ding, dang my dang a long ling long....

Reading at the game, visible bow tie, this picture approaches peak LOLUVA.

The Orange and Maroon you see, that's fighting on to victory.

Wait... Is he wearing cargo shorts AND a bowtie?

WTF?

Leonard. Duh.

Welcome to LOLUVA

"These people, are losing their minds! This is beautiful"

and he's sitting...lets not forget that detail

Onward and upward

It could be worse....it could be orange shorts. Trust me, I've seen this combination. It would be much worse. On a positive note, my eyes have almost fully healed.

Take the shortest route to the ball and arrive in bad humor.

The T-shirt above the book is the icing on that cake. Perfect picture framing. The photographer knew what he was getting.

He had too many Zima's in the parking lot, no choice but to bust out some light reading until the buzz wore off!

I'd like to point out that even the guy who cared enough to dress like a fan instead of a douche is still playing candy crush instead of watching the game.

And yet we have people complain about the Hokey Pokey in Lane...

This is a perfect shaming tool. Hey students, don't be like the LOLUVa fan who's more interested in his phone than the game. It's a slippery slope. First you stop shouting just because your team is down by 3 TDs in the 4th. Then, you start sitting down during the game. Then your phone comes out and next thing you know, you're a bowtie and cargo shorts wearing LOLUVa douche reading a book at a football game.

TL;DR - Put your phone away and do the dang hokie pokie.

Put your phone away and do the dang hokie pokie.

Because it IS what it's all about

"These people, are losing their minds! This is beautiful"

What's even more LOLUVA about this is that it's not a phone, which most people have on them at all times. IT'S A BOOK! HE ANTICIPATED BEING BORED AT THE GAME AND PREPARED ACCORDINGLY!

Someone send a picture to Cardale to show him what "playing school" looks like.

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

yes, that is the joke. That one will eventually lead to the other. What we find troubling at Tech games (airplanes, obsessive phone use, sitting) is just a gateway behavior for the more obvious reprehensible fan behavior, like bringing a book to the game...

If I thought I'd be bored at a VT game (entirely hypothetical, of course), I wouldn't rely on my phone for entertainment. Cell network coverage is spotty at best in Lane.

I bet he's just trying to avoid traffic by staying for the whole game.

Spotty? I believe you overestimate sir.

Edit: Was replying to HokieJeep.
