Bowl game selection might be pushed back if Navy runs table.

http://collegefootball.ap.org/article/playoff-committee-will-wait-army-n...

The College Football Playoff selection committee will wait until after the Army-Navy game is played to complete the New Year's Six bowl lineup if it determines the outcome of that game should be factored into the pairings.

So if Navy runs the table, doubtful, the traditional Army-Navy game will push back the release of the final rankings from the playoff committee. This will not just effect playoff games, but also NY6 bowls and trickle down to the regular bowls I would imagine. This could be a huge hit for schools and bowl game ticket sales.

Worry about it IF it happens.
Kind of like rankings in September...just there for clickbait.

Navy has more wins against teams with wins against P5 teams than ND, MSU and Oklahoma among others. I don't think it's too early to talk about something at could effect the entire bowl schedule.

Edit: Even if Navy doesn't run the table and is the highest ranked G5 team they are guaranteed a New Year's Day bowl and that will also push back the bowl selection dates.

So you're saying that things in September should only matter if you win your conference? ;)

(Sorry, I just can't help myself. Your setup was a thing of beauty.)

Nooooooo....
Saying there shouldn't be ANY polls that come out until teams have played 5 games. Too much bias that continues throughout the polls during the year because they were "supposed" to be good according to beat writers in August.

Projected bowl matchups that come out in September are useless. Sure, it's fun to talk about the playoff teams, but let them play it out on the field.

they should push the game up to an earlier date now that navy is in a conference

Hokies, Local Soccer, AFC Ajax, Ravens

I can see it now: Navy cancels annual rivalry with Army over concerns that a non-P5 game will hurt their playoff chances.

As an Annapolis Native, I'd love to see Navy run the table and get into the playoff.

Them making it to the playoffs is pretty much not going to happen a NY day bowl is their best shot. Too much P5 power to see a G5 team make it in.

Houston is no slouch, nor is SMU. Obviously ND is a good team. Depends on the rest of the field, but if we have >3 undefeated conference champions and Navy wins out, it could happen!

As a native of a place that is not Annapolis, I would love to see Navy in the playoff. Everyone whose team didn't get in would be rooting for tAcademy.

The AAC championship game is the week before Army-Navy. So, all of the conference champs will be determined by then.

If Navy comes into that game already crowned as AAC champs, they're more than likely already going to be in position to be in that bowl slot, and the result of one final nonconference game will not affect that.

Currently, the only undefeated G5 team not in the AAC is Toledo. So, if Navy is at one or fewer losses going into the Army game, I don't see there being any significant adjustment in the rankings among the G5 teams if Navy loses to Army.

Yea they play ND in two weeks. I willing to bet this won't be a discussion soon but you never know with AAC refs.
