Gameday - VT being used as laughing stock

It's hard to believe how far we've fallen. When talking about, "Who is the real #1 team", VT is being used as one of the examples of how OSU hasn't beaten anyone of substance. Corso just said, VT is 2-2 and lost to ECU! And then paused for effect.

Sad to see us as just another team...

It's deserved, unfortunately.

Normally, I'd hope it would be a wake up call to our coaching staff, but to be honest, I don't think they care.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I'm becoming convinced that our coaches are completely tone-deaf to outside perceptions of the program.

Oh, I know. I'm just saying it's hard (painful) to see and accept.

this hurts...a lot...but I have to agree... :(

I agree. It's unfortunate, but when you have lost all media credibility as we have, it's deserved. We've been embarrassed too many times over the past few years with the nation watching. When your head coach has such poor PR abilities and says things that are construed to the effect of non-conference games don't matter, it just makes you feel helpless that anything is going to drastically change with our current trajectory.

Neither do Most of the fans anymore

Well, there is only one way to change that...win.

We'll see if the coaches and players can nut up starting today.

That's the bottom line, winning fixes everything. Just look at how the media, cautiously perhaps, WANTED to accept us back last year after the win against OSU. Even the hype over the opener was still an opportunity that we missed. Keep on winning then you can begin to argue over the finer points such as playoff selection etc, but those are good problems to have.

Both of THESE. Winning brings back apathetic students and fans, increases donations and investments, improves overall image and morale.

Gotta agree. The turnout doesn't look that great today. When I was in school, we lived for these types of games!

When you were in school we were good at football and had a history of being good at football. Not so anymore.

Would you like Prys with that?

Yea, about that.... Sigh

But we also got dancing Beamer featured in a segment. So there's that.

I know - I chuckled.

Well isn't that just DANDY?
Hey Gameday...

Hopefully any recruits we are after were still asleep.

Well, apparently, the new "keeping up with the Jones'" thing in college football is Stanford's VR training technology. Just spent all that money on the indoor facility; now, teams don't even have to practice. /s

Hey, $ec$pn, haters and everyone else that disrespects us,

I mean, I don't disagree with you, but we haven't given them any reason to respect us... Sooo...

Onward and upward

I agree with the current situation but when is it EVER classy to kick a team while they're struggling (unless it's LOLUVA, Worst VaU or ECU)?

And yeah.... the ACC Network pregame is currently doing their ACC Power Rankings. Clemson, FSU, Miami, Duke, NCSU, UNC, and GT are discussed. We have been flat out ignored in the discussion of division title contenders.

And I cannot disagree with the omission. And that is sad.

Desmond still supporting us. He said, when talking about who anOSU has played, said that the Buckeyes have onlt played one good half against a good team so far. He also said that had Brewer not gotten hurt, OSU would probably have still won but it would have been a closer game. Corso also did not think about his comment re ECU enough as Brewer did not play.

BroncsZoo

I think this team's issues go much, much deeper than losing Brewer. Sure, losing your starting QB hurts, and they WERE rolling against anOSU before his injury. But to be honest, I think Brewer's injury is only the tip of this iceberg. Coaching staff (minus Bud IMHO) being apathetic is the biggest reason to be honest...

"GO BACK TO YOUR ROOM LITTLE BROTHER, THE CUP IS COMIN’ ON HOME!”

I mean with Brewer we're 4-1 imo, but you're right that this is a bad team. Games only get harder each week from here until UVA, and I don't even know if we can beat them

When you lose games you should win, you open yourself up to whatever they're dishing out.

Understood. It doesn't mean I have to like it. Which was really the point of my post.

Hopefully, we all dislike it enough to do something about it on the field of play, and in the general direction of the program.

Word....

All of a sudden, I found myself in love with the world
So there was only one thing that I could do
Was ding a ding, dang my dang a long ling long....

Damn, I love that^^ I actually got chills.

I am not sure if we beat ECU 35-28 that they would change their tune.

Unless we go on a serious run, or our defense starts putting up shutouts or is mentioned as one of the best units in the country (I don't think we are currently), then we are just another team.

The truth hurts

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
β€œI served in the United States Navy"

Fire Frank Beamer. It's time, he looks lost. We make every team we play look like a top 10 team. We need Whit to take charge and make a move, get rid of Beamer jr too, he's done nothing since he got here.

Pour some Beer on it

I've been on the fence, but this season is turning that tide. Beamer Jr. needs to take the next head coaching job offer he gets, so wet can bring in a competent running back coach.

Even when you get skunked; fishing never lets you down. 🎣

The mighty Ohio State has struggled with everyone on their schedule so far. OSU is currently trailing powerhouse Indiana in the 4th. The fact is OSU is highly overrated, and ESPN is trying to hype the SEC so 2 teams get in the playoff.

The SEC has plenty of chances to blow themselves up yet, but yes they are already laying the groundwork for two SEC teams.

We are 2-8 in our last 10 home games against FBS opponents.

I really really want to downvote this...

Yes,that's the Hokie Bird riding a camel. Why'd you ask?

Me, too.

4-8 overall

The ironic thing is that corso is also the laughing stock of game day. I'm not sure he even watches games anymore.

He had a stroke a few years back, hasn't been the same since. Plus, he is eighty years old. Don't know that he need to be made fun of.

Wow. He looks pretty good for 80.
