Virginia Tech's Enter Sandman Performance Against N.C. State

The best pregame entrance in all of college football is pushed to right before kickoff because of a lightning delay.

[Mark Umansky]

If you happened to be one of the folks who missed Enter Sandman last night before Virginia Tech's 28-13 win over the Wolfpack, you can relax. Thanks to Umansky, TKP's video of Enter Sandman from the field is below.

Outstanding.

This is going to be great for the ACC.

Or, in this case, standing outside the stadium

Ouch.

I actually really liked that they did it again at second half kickoff. Best part was the crowd keep singing through the kick. Kinda hope that keep that.

We put the K in Kwality

Yeah, I thought that helped get the blood back up.

The halftime Enter Sandman was awesome for exactly the reason you said. I hope someone could've gotten a video of it, it was unexpected but really hyped up the crowd, and I loved that everyone kept singing after the music cut off.

Yes, that was the best part. Great crowd "eventually".

Initially I thought there would be a no show as the stands were empty. Then they kept showing the fans jumping at the gate when the music came on.

Didn't find out till later there was a delay. Glad the crowd showed up.

Yeah, when I first turned on the game, I was like "Wow...no fans in the stands on a Friday night game...how quickly the fans have fallen away."

And then they showed all the fans trying to get in the gate, and said that fans weren't allowed into the stands until 10 minutes before kickoff, and they showed all the fans in Cassell waiting for storms to pass. By half time, I was happy with the crowd. Pretty much the typically empty areas were empty (Top of South End Zone, Visitor sections of East Stands) and there was plenty of noise.

Proud of the Hokies last night.

I'm glad the commentators made a big point of the stadium filling in.

yes, I do have to giver them props for that.
They kept going back to it.

We've had two weeks of pretty good commentary. That Purdue game was precisely the opposite

TKPC #666 ...man that was long wait...

Working as an usher on the west side, I can tell you there were a LOT of disappointed people that:
1. They missed Enter Sandman and/or
2. That Enter Sandman wasn't it's usual entrance because of the delay

I can also say that the crowd began pouring in once the gates opened, and didn't stop until about 4:00 minutes left in the first quarter, and even after that it was a pretty steady trickle of fans. I knew it was going to be a full house once I saw that (kept me quite busy for a while too haha).

Overall I was very pleased with the size of the crowd, and Enter Sandman right before the 2nd half was awesome. Wish I could have gotten a video of that! Good job Hokie Nation!

I would love to see enter sandman played prior to 2nd half kickoff especially with the fans singing even after the music cuts off.

Hey, maybe we have a new tradition on our hands?

I like that you could hear "Enter Sandman" being sung in the stands during the second-half kickoff. It was kind of a cool effect.

Here is the broadcast starting at the second half. You have to deal with Mack talking, but you can hear the crowd in the background.

Edit: looks like Hokiegirl beat me to his by a long shot. Eh, leaving it here in this thread too.
