Maybe I'm missing something, but Alabama doesn't list an undergraduate sports management program. There's a grad program, but not undergrad. I'm assuming they're selling him on the possibility of getting into the grad program if he stays for his full eligibility? That seems like a lot of "ifs" between now and then, and it also seems shady that they'd be able to start talking graduate programs with him. Or maybe they just get a pass since they're Alabama.
In any case, this is definitely disappointing. He seemed really high on VT for a long time. I will temper my disappointment with genuine well wishes to him. He's a talented kid. Recruiting is a complex game, and you're competing for the hearts of high schoolers, after all...
Saban is not missing the number 1 player two years in a row, I wouldn't completely buy that major story.

Didn't Alabama say they'd cobble together something for Hand? Like a mix of classes and internships or something along those lines? They'd probably put him on a 5 year Master's course and keep him there all summers.

Who knows where this guy will end up. He has so much pressure on him that it seems like he's changing his mind every few days about what he's going to do. Over the past couple of months he's switched majors, completely changed the list of schools he's interested in, and went from VT probably being the front-runner to telling his favorite coach (Foster) that he's not going to commit here. Basically, I wouldn't put much weight on what he says because he's only 17 and is under a tremendous amount of pressure from everyone telling him what to do that he probably doesn't know what to think anymore. Regardless, I'm not following anything else he says until NSG. I feel sorry for the guy though, because I don't know how I'd react to this kind of pressure, and I doubt it would help me come to the right decision.
