2015 SIX PICK - WEEK EIGHT

Good news VT fans, the team lost last week so according to the current 4 year cycle, the Hokies will win this week. I think. Two stellar weeks of college football, including an unforgettable Michigan - Michigan State ending and we have this pile of dung. There is no marquee game, and I couldn't even find six good games. So in a butts week, if Richmond at JMU is good enough for Gameday, it's good enough for me. Shame on both the Commonwealth's P5 schools and the guys who run them. Following their lead, I'm mailing in this week too.

With this week's lineup, family gets to happen on Saturday too.

Thursday, October 22nd
California at UCLA -3.5
9:00 pm ESPN

• Yes, UCLA has lost 2 in a row, and no, I'm not likely to watch this injury riddled team with freshman qb who has smashed on the wall for more than a quarter ... call this East Coast bias if you'd like
• Cal played Utah tough, as good as anyone save Michigan this season, so why not the Bears vs a reeling UCLA team?

Pick: Cal getting the points, winning outright.

Saturday, October 24th
Clemson -6.5 at Miami
12:00 pm ABC

• All about the V, I mean the U. Golden can only hope the Sun Life atmosphere shocks the Clemson Offense into boredom and that counteracts his defense's ability to give huge chunks of yards
• You know the problem with Dabo coming hard against the Clemsoning verb (as he should), the echo when it happens again is going to very, very loud and his response to that response will be amazaballs

Pick: Clemson beating that Miami ass. Hurricanes would be wise not to talk to much smack and taunt after 5 yard runs too much this week.

Texas Tech at Oklahoma -14.5

• What Bob Stoops just did to Bill Snyder would be criminal in ever state, but West Virginia. OU can certainly play great focused football when mad, but the week after?
• Texas Tech went the opposite way last week, in barely scraping by Kansas in what must have been a look ahead let down situation, right?

Pick: OU covering the points, normally I'd go the other way, but OU QB Baker Mayfield is a transfer from Texas Tech. I think he'll be razor sharp.

• I don't know a thing about the Dukes other than the time they beat the Hokies, in the rain, after a brutal loss, just 5 short days previous (so much shade.) Roll Dukes
• I don't know a thing about the Spiders other than Mike London won FCS National Championship with the previous coach's players, while he was the head coach. LOLuva. War Spiders

Pick: JMU covering, the amped home team and juiced crowd will be a fun time for sure.

Texas A&M at Ole Miss -5.5

• Look, I'm not saying this is an important game for Ole Miss, but Hugh Freeze is going to schedule a tent revival in lieu of practice if the season comes off the rails any more
• Kevin Sumlin may or may not want the USC job, but he certainly wants the USC interest so he can fleece aTm for money. First coaching lesson, get your QB to not throw 1 and especially 3 pick six interceptions in a game

Pick: aTm, getting the points. Ole Miss can't bludgen the Aggies like Bama and their defense isn't getting them 21 points.
