OT: Bubble soccer

This was brought up months ago and someone asked me what it was and how you play. Well now if you live in the Roanoke area you can give it a try yourself.

This was a consistent sight Sunday afternoon as Lynchburg Department of Parks and Recreation's new bubble soccer league kicked off at City Stadium's football field.

A cross between soccer and zorbing, five players from each team wear air-cushioned "battle balls," giant plastic spheres fitted with straps and hand holds in a hollowed center to help keep the player secure inside. The players on either the blue or pink team, as designated by the color of the battle balls, try to score goals or stop the other team from scoring by bumping opponents out of the way.

OHH OHH I live close to this!! I am gonna check it out. Doubt I need a zorb, just use my oversided gut and lack of arm movement to run as my version of the zorb!!

I wanted to do this so bad. Couldn't get a team together though.

I have no idea why my username is VT_Warthog.

Arkansas blew a 24-0 lead in the Belk Bowl.

Mountain Lake Resort also offers this during summer months. You have to get a group together yourself and it's pretty pricey (like in the $50 per person per session range)
