2015 Six Pick - Week Nine

Guys, I don't think the wheels are going back on the BMW. It sucks, 3 decades is a long time, remember the whole! So that means I am now down to hate watching, new coach scouting, hate watching, jealous of well coached teams watching, hate watching, still laughing at uva, and some more hate watching.

No marquee games this week, but there are some solid ones and if last week proved, the meh weeks often provide the crazy endings. Plus it's Halloween weekend, so college coeds in skimpy outfits, and teams wearing their gaudiest uniform combos, because 20 year olds like tacky.

Thursday, October 29th
North Carolina -2.5 at Pittsburgh
7:00 pm ESPN

• H/T to Pitt and HC Pat Narduzzi, they've done an excellent job of navigating kids recruited by multiple HC regimes and turning this team into a Coastal favorite in less than a year. WANT
• Not every program can be turned around in a year, but don't look now, UNC finally looks good and it may not be an anomaly, now that Fedora has his players

Pick: Pitt winning outright, I am team tough defense and manball offense. ALWAYS.

Saturday, October 31st
Clemson -10.5 at North Carolina State
3:30 pm ESPN2 / ABC

• I'm jinxing NC State, but it's been almost 4 years since Clemson Clemson'd and it was against State ... If it happens again, we better see this guy perform
• While everyone was proclaiming FSU the class of the ACC and Clemson their wingman ... is it possible Dabo flippped this when no one was paying attention or expecting it?

Pick: Clemson by more than two touchdowns. It's rolling in Upstate, ride with it.

Oklahoma State -2.5 at Texas Tech
3:30 pm ESPN

• Too bad this game isn't an 8pm kick, no weirder spot to play than Lubbock at night around Halloween
• A Tough week for the University and the program. No one would blame them if focused waned. Guys, be responsible for yourself and your friends and family.

Pick: Texas Tech getting the points, a lot of things working against the Pokes, sadly.

Florida -2.5 vs Georgia

• You can make no better argument than UGA being the most underperforming college football school for the past three decades and especially the last five years, after being gift wrapped the SEC Coastal
• What are the chances I can rename this rivalry to "The World's Largest @_FloridaMan Party"? Make a few shirts and watch it print cash

Pick: Florida by a field goal, all but locking up an improbable SEC CG appearance.

Notre Dame -9.5 at Temple
8:00 pm ABC

• These aren't your father's Temple Fighting Bill Cosby's. How far have we fallen that Temple, F'N TEMPLE is a better program than Tech. What kind of world am I living in?
• You know the ND staff was pissed they were getting a bye week before Temple, when the schedule came out. Now that's one more week to get your young QB ready for the 4th best team on their schedule

Pick: Notre Dame covering. The Linc might be near capacity and most will be pulling for the Irish.

Stanford -12.5 at Washington State
10:30 pm ESPN

• What a devastating blow ... ESPN Gameday skipped Wazzou to go to Temple. Can you imagine the number of flags!!!! The Mad Pirate finally has things zipping along in Pullman with QB Luke Falk is putting up peak Leach / Texas Tech numbers
• The year of the running back is BACK. What a ridiculous true Sophomore class: Fournette, Cook, Freeman and Christian McCaffrey. McCaffrey is appointment tv if you aren't passed out or making out with young lady in a cat costume

Beer of the Week:
Cigar City Seasonal Creep

As you guys know, I am not pumpkin beer guy, but if I do, it's going to be from Cigar City (and maybe Alewerks.) This is a chocolate pumpkin ale so let's hope the pumpkin spices are muted. This was a June release, and with that name, the tongue was firmly implanted in CC's cheek. Just in case I have a CC Good Gourd in reserve.
