Anybody play the game yet? What are your thoughts so far on "next gen" Halo? Haven't got a chance to play yet myself but will tonight. I'm into the story arc but enjoy some multiplayer.
How do you Halo?
I know there's other military folks on here, so I also wanted to show off what I got with my Exhange preorder:

(It's a coin, two Spartan heads facing off on the opposite side with yellow & blue accents on the faceplates.)
Go Navy!
Go Hokies!

I think I'm pretty close to the end (possibly?) of the campaign now. I'm having a hard time remembering story details but it plays well.
Multiplayer I've had mixed results with. Gotten wrecked in some games but dominated others.
Feel free to add me if you want to play!
GT: xWSx Logan
So I played through the entire campaign last night on normal. Full play-through took about 6 hours. There are 15 missions and by about the 7th one you're just rooting for it to end. That's not to say that it's necessarily bad but there comes a point where the story stops making sense and you're fighting the same enemies for like 4 straight missions. The master chief missions are also pretty rare which kinda sucks.
I'm still planning to finish the campaign on legendary but I might have to take a break from campaign for a bit before I go back and do it again.
I've found this to be true of almost all shooters these past few years, if I try to blow through the campaign. I've been taking it at 3-5 missions a day and while it's not the best campaign ever (very repetitive fights with no real flavor mostly), I'm still enjoying it.
Haven't played for a while, and must admit Heroic setting was a little too ambitious for the first run. And the Covenant are complete pushovers compared to the Forerunners.
So want to play, having a wife and kids and being broke as a result sucks. Probably gonna have to wait till xmas for both this, the new Assassins Creed and Star Wars BattleFront. All of the trailers I have seen and reviews I have read say it is going to be totally tits though!
I wanted to play last night but was taking forever to download. so ill be playing it tonight
It's been good so far, but I've only played 4 levels or so. I like the multiplayer than the previous games seems faster without being chaotic.
On a side note, if anyone is looking for a 21+ community to game with, I've been playing with the folks at TheAdultGamer for quite a few years now. It's nice to not have to deal with "kids" when all you want to do is joke around and play some games at the end of the night.
We've got a regular Thursday night Halo get together, although obviously every night this week has a group going.
I liked the cinematics. The gameplay is like most FPS's now, with jump, hang, ground-bound, and slide variations. Overall I liked it, but it did take forever to download. Maps were easy enough to master and found that I could have the controls mastered in about a few hours. Would like to see if the game gets more interesting as you can customize your loadouts, so jury is still out.
I am debating getting 5. Own the previous 4. I remember sitting on my couch in Collegiate Suites with my friend doing a legendary play through of Halo (also drinking a case of Natty Ice at like 2:30 in the afternoon) when the girl that was to become my wife came walking through the door for the first time. Talk about a great first impression.
With the two little ones taking most of my time (and money), I have mostly just been playing whatever games XBox One offers free for Gold each month. The Tomb Raider reboot was especially good (and I was never a TR fan).
Recently beat Dragon Age Inquisition for about the 4th time, love that game. Waiting for a sale to finally pick up Witcher 3, and maybe Wasteland 2
(Full disclosure, I spend too much time playing video games)
