College GameDay was live from Tuscaloosa, Alabama Saturday morning prior to LSU at Alabama (a primetime CBS broadcast). Host Rece Davis had to nudge Alabama fans to show up, but Hokie Nation showed up unprompted to represent the #GameDay4Frank movement.
It caught the eye of the GameDay social media crew.

BilldozerVT grabbed screen shots of the Virginia Tech faithful's amazing effort.

GameDay producer Lee Fitting told the Richmond Times-Dispatch on Thursday Blacksburg will be considered to host the November, 21 edition of the show.
"While the slate of games on Nov. 21 is as competitive on paper as we will see all year, Coach Beamer's last home game will be considered amongst the other games that will have an impact on the College Football Playoff," Fitting said. "The entire sport and College GameDay are thankful for all that he has done for college football."

Excellent work by Hokie Nation! I'm hoping to nail down a ticket this weekend.
This is exactly why we have the greatest fans on the planet
Nice showing. Hopefully they will pick Blacksburg for Frank. There are huge games every year. A legend doesn't retire every year. If Frank has meant so much to college football and Game Day then Blacksburg should be a no brainier pick.
Fantastic work
Hokie Nation rocks. Just amazing!
Oh man, on that first one I can't help but read "#Gameday Nov Blacksburg, 4 Frank 21 Virginia" haha.
Great showing by the fans though. Awesome.
This makes me happier than a tornado in a trailer park
*Totally a Cars reference and not meant in any way to make fun of a weather disaster.
I'm not sure if this was meant to be a joke about the Tuscaloosa tornadoes a few years ago, but it had me like

go to 11:47 on this clip
I just realized that its Saul Goodman's voice, woah
Yikes.....
That wasn't what I meant but....dang....woops, I totally didn't know about and/or had forgotten that happened.
Explanation added to the above.
I got ya, my kids love the Cars movies
Kids? Oh...I guess Cars might appeal to kids as well.
Tis a thing of beauty
Hokie nation is the tits...I'm continuing my campaign on Facebook
Retweet the sh*t out of the @collegegameday post!
Adam is a rockstar
Any other former players in on this?
Hoda being called out
Is it bad that I'm getting my hopes up?
I'm getting my hopes up.
It wouldn't be right if we didn't get let down just one more time lol
Was there any mention of Beamer's retirement on gameday this morning?
A 30 second spot from Rece after a trivia question bout last two ranked teams to meat in ACC who were not Clemson/FSU, it was LOLUVA and Tech.
30 secs of fame!
And they got how long Beamer has been at tech by about 5 years
Great work everybody. Keep it up. No surrender, no retreat.
It was an honor and a privilege for my wife and I to be able to make it down to Tuscaloosa today and represent Hokie Nation's strong desire to honor Coach Beamer one more time. Personally, I can't do enough to thank him. I wouldn't even know my wife if it wasn't for Coach Beamer and Virginia Tech Football. I would get carpal tunnel writing about all the things I'm thankful to Frank Beamer for. Go Hokies! Thanks coach, we love you!
You absolutely crushed it. I would like to buy you a RAIL.
Appreciate the kind words man. There's no TOTS in Atlanta but if y'all are gonna be at the GT game, I know of a few good places. 1st round's on us though.
OH. FUCK. YES
Those replies, talk about haters.
Yeah, there are a lot of people from other schools who seem to really be taking this personally for some reason and are deeply offended that they would even consider us.
It's a college football pregame show for crying out loud.
Those are the same people that think Frank is just "another football coach." They haven't invested the time it takes to understand the situation. To stubborn to listen to reason.
Yeah, I was getting ready to say that. You know you're doing a good job when you start getting haters. I've already responded to 2 different people. People are doubting that it'll happen because it's not a relevant game. Last I checked, the Alabama and LSU game is relevant and College Gameday had its lowest turn out for the year. College Gameday is supposed to be about the passion of fans and the feeling of Saturday, not about the most relevant games.
The butt hurt jmu kid made me laugh.
That flowGator guys troll game is strong. Normally I'd advocate not feeding the trolls, but in this case the more retweeting the hashtag and college Game day the better
Very good, TKP crew. You just pulled off a great manuever that many try but few do successfully- harness a trending topic to launch a viral campaign.
Of the three techniques discussed here, you guys are riding the 'tastemakers' wave...

The VT Twitter accounts have been relentless.
Edit: Hokiegirl brought up the idea of having a GAMEDAY4FRANK chant during the GT game. I grew up the son of a Georgia Tech Grad (and I still say to hell with Georgia). I don't mind getting this started at the game. So between the 3rd and 4th quarter GT students play the
Budweiser Song . I think after they finish we begin chanting just like the players did above.
There, now we are organized
Let's hope CollegeGameDay hurries up and announces they're coming to Blacksburg so the team can focus on GT...
I hope so too. But we as fans can let ESPN know we are still for this, in the stands in Atlanta.
Yes, yes, yes! Time to spread this like wildfire on Twitter.
Edit: Did anybody hear me at the game? I was standing by Brewer's Dad as the team was getting on the bus, and they were talking about Gameday in Waco, and whether or not there would be a sign there. I asked, "did you hear someone screaming gameday4Frank" and Brewer said "that was you." I was at least heard by the team. Felt like I accomplished something.
I also got everyone by the bus to scream GameDay4Frank as Coach Beamer came out. I am going to be real. I am in awe of that man, he is a better man than me. I was screaming the chant, and he walks up to shake my hand, and he says to me how much he appreciates the fans, and the look in his eye is so sincere. In reality, I am just a fan trying to have a superficial cheering moment (don't get me wrong, I was trying to share my appreciation), but he was trying to reach out to me with more realism than I was ready for. The sincerity set me back, he really cares. Never met the man before
I have some family at GT. I'm sure they'll show support for GameDay.
So TCU and Michigan State lost meaning those two games really don't mean much anymore that week. What other games are being considered?
Looking at this Oklahoma St vs Baylor really is the only game. We shall see!! I have good feelings!
Got any Texas based folks? Next Saturday is at Baylor for the Oklahoma game.
With MSU, Ole Miss, TCU, and (probably LSU) all losing this weekend, UNC blowing out Duke, and Gameday being at Baylor next weekend, things are shaping up nicely for #Gameday4Frank.

Next week: @CollegeGameDay to @BUFootball.
Hokie Nation is fantastic.
I think we can pull this off.
As Walter said "If you will it, it is no dream"
Sounds like we need some Hokie fans in/near Waco to help maintain the momentum (embedding tweet linked by jpoole9999 above):
Shoot. If Baylor beat OK and OkSt beats Iowa State, then the undefeated Baylor@OkSt will be tough to turn down. Since TCU and MSU both lost yesterday, the decision, I think comes down to Gameday at VT or at OkSt. But if Baylor loses to Ok, then I think our chances improve dramatically
Would they really follow Baylor two weeks in a row? I don't know that they've ever done that.
VT 2007. Week one at Lane against ECU, week two in Baton Rogue against LSU.
Well then...something something THEY LIKE VT OK????
There were extenuating circumstances regarding their trip to Blacksburg in 2007.
I'm looking over the list, to see any other cases of the same school being involved two weeks in a row, likely for football reasons. Florida was the away team 2 consecutive weeks in 2012. In November 2008, they followed Oklahoma for two weeks in a row. (Texas Tech at OU, followed by OU at Ok State.)
But good lord, no wonder the crowd was so sad in Alabama yesterday....it's like a twice a year event down there.
Maybe, maybe not. I think going to Baylor one week and going to OKSt the next might be fine. I can't imagine them going to the same town twice in a row, but if one team happened to be involved in big games two weeks in a row? I could see that.
I just emailed the president of the Dallas Fort Worth Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association about making a presence in Waco - according to the chapter, there are 1,100 VT alumni in the area. WACO: WE"RE COMING FOR YOU! LETS DO THIS!!!
Dare I say, "we're coming...to your city!"
COMIN' TO YOUR CITAAAYYY!!!
sidenote: if it weren't for college game day, I would otherwise hate this obnoxious song.
Dang, thats sick. Great feakin work guys.
You guys are amazing!! More retweets than fans at a UVA spring game, and still coming.
Great points above about Game Day supposed to be about the fans and excitement surrounding college football. At least we know we're in the running. Let's keep it up!!
I dunno. Their last home game of the season will have a lot of fans there. Just not theirs.
