Remember when Bud said the culture doesn't need a change... Cam laughing and clapping on the sideline after they score off his turnover. That is culture.
I didn't think he was laughing. That was recognizing his part in the score and getting himself fired up for the remainder of the game.
On a later play, he made the catch and had both hands wrapped around the ball while he was being pounded by bees. Frank's talk equated lesson learned.
That was a good moment - he actually stood up still holding the ball high and tight, then opened both arms to let it fall into the official's hands. Point taken.
He appeared to be laughing on the sidelines a few minutes before the score, then his head was down when he was clapping and I couldn't really tell what was going on. Like you, I just can't believe he would be laughing and clapping at that point, or if he was, that no one reached over and smacked him.
From what I saw on TV, he was staring intently at the ground, clapping slowly and methodically. I think he was re-focusing himself. Saw no signs of laughing at that moment.
I would believe that more if the same issues had not been occurring for 4 years now.
God Frank is PISSED tonight. Don't blame him...kinda heartbreaking to watch.

Nope, sorry. Last time ball was thrown a receiver fumbled (Philips) which means EVERY WR will fumble if thrown. Too dangerous. Better to play conservative safe ball control by rushing. Less risk of fumble or TO. Maybe a few jet sweeps from the shotgun. Also, heavy doses of Edmunds.

We've had multiple penalties, a fumble, questionable play-calling from Scott Loeffler, and we were just recently down 14-0. We haven't executed the whole game. My love for Frank Beamer has nothing to do with the facts. I obviously don't want us to lose, but we certainly aren't looking like the team that deserves to win right now. It's just a fact. Things are looking up though, and that was a really nice offensive drive. Hopefully the momentum will continue.
All i'm saying is you cant say we deserve to lose after 18 minutes of football. You can say we are playing like we deserve to lose, but not outright we deserve to lose. Be an optimistic fan.

He's had trouble all season getting caught up in the blocks along the line. I suspect Bud moved him back a few yards so he could see the play developing and keep clean until he attacks. It may cost half a second in pursuit but it keeps him from getting caught in the wash.

Most likely, he thought the penalty was a "during the play" penalty and wanted to deny it and not give them the extra down. Because it was an "after the play" penalty, the down counted, so it was accepted. That's my best guess based on the Referee clarifying it by saying "The down counts".

Well, I got on the rowing machine at the start of the fourth quarter and we got the ball, stopped momentarily and we went 3 and out, got back on fumble again for GT. Then stuck it out for the rest of the fourth quarter. I figured it couldn't hurt. Now I think I am going to go pass out after 40 minutes continuous on the damn erg machine.

A nail biter. In the Duke game, offense did enough to win, and defense did not. In this game, defense stood up after those first two touchdowns and did not let GT score again. Excellent. But then the offense did just enough to win. I thought after that pick six "here we go, defense playing good, now offense is going to lose the game for us." They almost did. Inconsistency has been a huge problem this year and remains to be a huge problem. Fortunately, we did just enough to win ... or maybe better said GT just had more mistakes than we did and blew it. Either way, it is a notch in the in column!
How do you all take the time to post on this thing during the game? Just read through the thread. Everyone praising Beamer before the game..... then a lot of complaining about our coaches after the first quarter. Be patient and let the team settle and play football. Either you are behind Frank these last few games or you're not. Save the criticism for the rest of this season AFTER Frank ends his great career. LETS GOOOOOOO
