There are 351 Division 1 basketball teams. Being #116 is about where I'd put us, since we're near the bottom of the ACC, which is slightly worse than I'd put the worst ACC teams in football, but there's a lot more quality "mid-majors" in basketball than in football so it makes sense.

Theoretically being ranked 116th means we'd be 16 spots off an NIT Invite. At the end of the season we sneak into the NIT I'd be ecstatic.
The NIT now includes like 10 mid-major regular season winners, so there are only about 20-25 at large spots anymore.

Well that'd be a big improvement. At the end of last year KenPom had us 184th and Sagarin had us 169th.
