He will be missed, but best wishes to Pete Hughes. Hopefully #HokieBall continues to trend upwards.
I don't understand the coach going from OU to AU, they weren't far off in rankings and OU usually has some pretty good talent, just look at their top two starters this year. I didn't think Pete would go anywhere for a while but I understand taking a crack with a team like OU.
He went to Auburn because of $$$ http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2013/06/auburns_sunny_golloway_to_be_... and most people affiliated with OU baseball thought he was a prick http://newsok.com/oklahoma-baseball-joe-simpson-thrilled-that-sunny-goll...
Rumor is that Auburn was offering nearly twice what OU was paying him
Wartooth posted he was making 385000 at OU. 770000 is a ridiculous number, considering that's above the bottom tier of what MLB managers make. Would a college program really spend that much on a sport that generates little profit? That's crazy.
It was just something I saw on Twitter. Not sure the validity of it, but just something that floated by during all the speculation regarding the presser.
I'm pretty sure SEC coaches make the most, and their salaries are pretty insane.
