Came across this photo & got me thinking it might be cool to start a thread of photos/videos of our kids getting into the fun of the pre-game rituals....(mostly cause there's nothing better to do during the football dead season called 'summer')....I don't get to a lot of games because of living in NJ, but here's one of my daughter Liz playing beer pong (all pong, no beer) before the Appy State game 2 years ago.........i have no idea who the people are she's playing with.....

start 'em young, right?

took my girls to the duke game last year. my oldest made fast friends with a former star's son.
I feel dumb asking but whose son is that? I'd also like to toss in that you sir have a magnificent beard
kj's, met thanks to hokiejoe3.
the beard is summer length levels. will be glorious again by the unc game.
That was a good time getting to meet you in person!
My wife was watching the trailers for this upcoming season a couple of days ago at work. She called and said we have to take our 7 year old this year to a night game. We live 4 hours away so this will be my daughters first game. But every season she asks while we are watching games when she will get to jump up and down in the Lane. Hope to see you all and your future Hokies this year.
No night game this year -- Thanks again Weaver!!!
and that was announced when?
It obviously hasn't been announced, since ESPN hasn't released times beyond the 2nd week games. We could still have a Sat game played at night, if it has a high enough profile, but this seems unlikely at this point.
We'll see. Right now I believe the North Carolina game has the biggest chance of being a night game if North Carolina comes in undefeated which means a win against USCe. If its not a night game we will definitely have a late afternoon start like the Miami game in 2011. After the fan backlash against Weaver after announcing no Thursday night game it will be hard to believe he won't push for a night game, but then again it's Weaver.
Considering Weaver sees the ideal time to start a football game as 1:30pm....
not at a tailgate (she's not even two yet) but we're raising her right. this is as we're leaving for the gt game this past year.
So this is what my Turkey Legs competition looks like (http://www.thekeyplay.com/turkey-legs-big-board). Nice to finally put a face to the handle/turkey leg count haha
I see Joe took himself out of the race. That how you know he's a baller.
what can i say, i like talking hokie sports. either way wise has got a huge lead on both of us.
Same. And I was just kidding, not a competition - I upvote your stuff all the time. And Wise's for that matter.
Best I could do....getting my daughter on the field for Homecoming....If that doesn't seal the deal for my future Hokie....I got nuthin'...
That cardigan rules.
SECOND!
Dad and Daughter matching cardigans, no less!
Give me your cardigan or give me death
Yeah, the HT Alumni Band doesn't get much time to tailgate at Homecoming, do we?
You Sir are a baller.
if that doesnt seal the deal iunno what will
what years were the two of you? and when I got the sweater this past fall pretty sure I wore it for about a week straight regardless of UOD, best 200 bucks ive ever spent!
HT 94..My daughter is wearing my wife's sweater(HT 93) and she will be HT 22-ish...Congrats on your sweater...It was definitely one of the best milestones I hit at VT!
That is awesome! and god help us another purebred HT but always great to see growth, come on 200!
I totally want to rock that cardigan, but I was never an HT. I will not allow myself to be a phony.
Supposedly it used to be each Company in the corps had their own and with an idividual patch on it, but Band is just the only one who still has them and we pay for them out of pocket junior year.
I had my first sip of Bud Heavy at the age of 8 (late bloomer) and I turned out fine
First road trip to Pittsburgh, 2012.
Hokietopher what part of Jersey are you living in?
East Windsor.....Central part of NJ near Princeton.....
O cool. I grew up in Manahawkin and Long Beach Island so thats not too far south of there
Getting the athletics tour
EXCELLENT! A turkey leg for you!
Parenting: you're doing it right!
That is AWESOME
My first Hokie game. Jan 2000, French Quarter, I was 14. Ahh, parenting!
You look THRILLED
The French Quarter isn't quite as much fun when you're 14.
My 3 year old has been going to games since he was 10 months old.... case in point, sitting in his high chair at the Boise State game, his first ever game. And yes, his grandma told him that he better finish that $8 Bud Light!!

That is great! Glad they let you take the highchair into the stadium.
I called ahead and as long as we had a purchased seat, it was fine! We had so many people around us taking pictures with him. haha He loved it... fell asleep duing the 1st quarter, woke up in the second, was happy the rest of the game (unlike us), and then fell asleep on the walk to the car.
Lane Stadium is another story though. They are NOT kid friendly and will squeeze a buck out of anywhere they can. :(
First person to ever claim Dan Snyder wasn't greedy. I'm surprised they didn't sue you after the game.
My buddy's son, approximately an hour after being born. The brainwashing starts early. He'll be ready for tailgating soon.
I believe we have a friend in common. Small world. Either that, or I've found his kid's doppelganger.
I tweeted yesterday my concerns that my daughter wouldn't fit into her VT clothes by game day. False alarm. She is ready.
My Niece is ready for some VT football!!
I need to find this hat so one day I can pass it along to my kids.
Me with CFB when I was a kindergartener at Gilbert Linkous Elementary back in '89.
I'd have this framed and hanging from my neck by a thick gold chain at all times.
I don't have kids or tailgate photos but I think this is still semi-relevant. My mom just gave this to me this morning, still in the original 1960-something envelope. It's a pencil tray made from the wood that used to be the seats at Miles Stadium, the predecessor to Lane. The note on the back is from T. Marshall Hahn who was President of Virginia Tech at the time. I had no knowledge of its existence until a few days ago and have no idea how it she got it. I think it was given to her dad or possibly his dad, both of whom also attended VT. Its definitely my new favorite piece of Hokie memorabilia.
My daughter after the Michigan game
It looks like she was born during the Michigan game
