Justin Fuente made an appearance at Cassell Coliseum Tuesday night during Virginia Tech's 79-81 hoops loss to Northwestern. The Hokies' new head football coach got a taste of Enter Sandman, addressed Hokie Nation and joined ESPNU's Cory Alexander and Anish Shroff to discuss his new charge.
#EnterSandman will be even LOUDER when @CoachFuente comes out of the tunnel at Lane Stadium! pic.twitter.com/cdjpAQgbYmβ VT Football (@VT_Football) December 2, 2015
Also, the Cassell Guard does quick work.

I read the headline as
That headline...
Why would Cassell drop him? I thought they liked him...
Me too. I then read it again and it said the same thing (wondered "how did he screw this up?). Then I read the sub heading and it dawned on me that I'm silly.
My initial reaction: "How the heck did Cassell drop Fuente? That doesn't make sense."
Ditto on all these replies ^^
I don't know if anybody listens to the radio broadcasts of basketball games but I do because I work nights. He stopped by and talked to Laaser and Burnop too. Burnop said something about how although they introduced Fuente to Enter Sandman, it was going to be a whole lot louder in Lane Stadium.
Fuente said "Yeah, I've Googled those videos like 80 times and listened to them all." Went on to say he had been talking to some recruits and telling them how great the atmosphere was and they were like "yeah coach, we know" because they had been to games and he said he was jealous of that.
Very cool -- he seems genuinely excited to be the next HC of VT football. As it should be. And, we're excited to have him.
Today I had some time to actually watch some interviews of him and WOW! I am impressed. I am very happy to see him join the Hokie family. I am already pumped for next year, and this year isn't even finished yet.
And he's already got his daughters decked out in Hokie gear. Nice to see the new coach embracing the school so quickly.
Yeah, he and Buzz have fully embraced VT from the get go. I get that on some level this is self marketing, the more fans love you the better your position with the school and athletic department. But still, I love it.
Even better, it was a sellout! Not an empty seat in the house!
The whole place was #EnFuente.
OMYGODYES
Good work. Do you also do the promos for UVA football?
That hack job? No way.
A taste. Literally. Last night was like having one small hors d'oeuvre before they bring out the 15 oz. New York Strip with all the trimmings. Looking up videos doesn't really do it justice either, you have to be there to savor the moment of your eardrums bursting and spine tingling!
FTFY
I'm more of a NYS guy myself, but to each his own ;)
I personally am a baby back rib guy myself - or rib eye. NY Strip is up there though.
This thread went from 0 to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse justin time...
Someone should tell him "Saturday night" doesn't start at Noon.
Mrs. Fuente appears to be tall. I wonder what her athletic background is?
College volleyball player then college coach.
Meet Jenny Fuente

Nice article, thanks! Interesting that the only non-athlete among her and her siblings was her 7-foot-tall brother Luke.
Something similar was said above but he really does seem like he is excited about being here for the forseable future and not just running through the motions of saying the things we want to hear.
Also they are a charming family. Welcome Fuentes!!
My wife and I with our friends visiting from FL were at the game and made it on national TV during the Fuente interview (we got 2nd row seats for this game that ended up being right behind the ESPNU guys). My wife is waving at everyone from the upper left in the link below which is where the interview with the camera on CJF started.

That was a really great basketball game. Seth Allen was on fire. He was too tired for the last play, IMHO - you could see it in his eyes. Too bad, the Hokies came back in the 2nd half playing much better defense and took our only lead to 4 pts to start OT.
