People are now threatening to get rid of not only season tickets...BUT HOKIE CLUB STATUS over us playing WVU 8 fucking years from now.
Simply put, I wish the fanbase was younger. I feel like I'm hanging with my parents over there and now it's gotten to the point of where I'm breaking news (e.g. Billy Ray becoming a Hokie, getting the same info from my dumb WVU Brother in Law that QB got re: WVU/VT)
I know this isn't the place for ranting, and I'm sorry to the TKP staff, but, now I'm pledging allegiance to The University of TKP.
Or something.

Man, knowing how old I am.....those guys must be fossilized over there...yeesh!
Big reason why I let my subscription run out there. Their "expert" insight has gotten worse, and the posters there spend more time laying into you for disagreeing than they ever provide evidence to get you to agree. I like intelligent back and forth, with eveidence and sound opinions.
I'll listen to Chris Coleman's radio segments, but that's about it for TSL.
Their staff can be repetitive and that broadcast seems to hit most of the major points through out the week.
edit: TechHokie13 kinda reminded me to be a little more classy and not attack our fellow Hokies at TSL.

In their defense...
A lot of them were there the last time we played in Morgantown. WVU's fans were upset that we were moving to the ACC and it sounds like they weren't civilized during the game. I'm sure a lot of their disdain stems from that awful experience. Getting spit on, thrown at and verbally abused is never fun. I guess there isn't "Mountaineer Respect" in Morgantown.
But it's been enough time between the last time we played them and 2020 where it shouldn't be a problem.
In conclusion, TSL blows.
For us well-aged Hokies, lest we also forget we had "Student-Life-and-NCAA-Honorary-Diplomat" Marcus Vick in '05 giving the finger to all four corners of the stadium on that last road trip, every chance he got close to the sidelines -a few NOT getting edited out on the live TV broadcast. And I thought he was such a classy lad.
That's said; I do miss that rivalry; even thought their radio play-by-play guys were dickholes... I very much enjoyed beating that ass...

To be honest, I really enjoy TSL and I'm not really sure where all the hate is coming from. I don't spend much time on their forums except the recruiting one (just to see if anything new is coming out of there). I very much enjoy the articles and the photography work Russian Hokie does. My point is this: what are we achieving by slamming another Hokie site all day? In my opinion, not a lot. They are very different sites with the same goal, and that is to support and enjoy Tech athletics. Can we please stop sippin so much of the hate-orade?
i hear ya, and i dont "hate" tsl (a buddy of mine emails me articles from their pay side fairly often during the season (shhh)) like you said russian does quality work and every hokie is indebted to phreak but here's the thing. there are several places to get your hokie news, and they're all gonna give you the same basic information. where the differences lie are in the quality of the content and the community. that community just isnt for me. way too much negativity toward beamer and vt in general on the boards and WAY too much politics. not much in the way of well thought out arguments when there's a disagreement just a lot of all caps insults. plus that bstreet guy and his indecipherable writing style are a joke compared to french and 3&31.
now i havent perused their boards in probably two years so maybe things have changed but i kinda doubt it. some people like hokie haven, some like gobbler country, some like tsl, some like tkp. i'm a tkp guy.
Dude is a legend.
I like sideline, but I never spent anytime on the boards. A few bad posts can spoil a group quickly. I love TKP. It picks up where tailgatefever.com left off. Speaking of which: does anyone know why that site has gone silent? Only those dudes could get me through some of our toughest loses and noon kick offs.
