I figured we should all get to know the news teams "mom".

Former college volleyball player then coach. Mom to three and sounds like someone who cares about the school and team.

Just answer the question: Cake or Pie?
We were all thinking it.
Pls Jenny
Be #teamcake
Umm why would she want a failed desert like cake?
I know we're not supposed to down vote stuff like this but you're pushing it...

#teamcake
Why are you guys fighting over the second best dessert?

She told Justin " Let's win some games with VT". She loves winning as much as Justin. Glad the Fuente family is now part of Hokienation.
From Gibson's Donuts to Carol Lee.....easy transition....
Someone needs to find them a Catholic Church, a Catholic school for the kids and introduce them to Carol Lees donuts.
No joke, my fiance and I are catering our wedding (in BBurg next year) with Carol Lee instead of cake or cupcakes for the guests. Hell. yes.
But yes, I agree with all your statements. Everything i've seen about their family makes me want to be their friends. They just seem like such a friendly family and seem genuinely happy and excited for the opportunities here. Can't wait to see what the next few years hold!
We did the wedding sampling there. We found the cakes too sugary. I didn't get a meal before hand and after eating a bunch of samples and trying to wash it down with powdered creamer coffee, I felt sick. It was a no go on their cakes.
Edit: call up the athletic program, donate a couple hundred bucks and have the Hokies bird crash the wedding. I did it as my wife's wedding gift. Photographer missed her reaction though...
We are skipping cake all together and just ordering 350 assorted donuts.
and I might have to look into that.. That could be pretty awesome. haha
We had the Hokie Bird show up at our wedding. Enter Sandman played, Hokie Bird came out and danced and partied with us for like 2ish hours. It was awesome! The UVA grad who was a bridesmaid was super confused tho.
The best we could do was the Hokie Pokie, MV Tuba style.
My wife surprised me with Enter Sandman on the reception entrance...I thought we were going to consummate right there.
Glad for her sake she didn't pull out all yalls shenanigans.
leg.
My wife did the same thing...well, the Enter Sandman reception entrance anyway.
We did something similar. Called all Hokies to the dance floor, DJ started Sandman and we made a mini mosh pit, which opened up when the Hokie Bird came through the door next to us. Mosh pit turned into a circle around the Bird, who joined in the insanity.
We didn't have the Hokie Bird, but we did have Enter Sandman played and the Groom's cake was a replica of the lunch pail
We had a couple Hoos at our wedding, when the Bird found out, he pretended to break a bottle on the table and stab them with it.
He was cool to have hang out, and we got tons of other pictures. I think the funniest story was how my uncle (who is German) ran into him in the bathroom, and was like what the hell is going on here. He had no clue.
Definitely a highlight, strange how much that Bird can get you in the feels. Speaking of which, my wife just bought the Hokie Bird version of Pillow Pets for my toddler son.
Can you post link to website where she got them?
Wemy kids need themWalmart in 757 had them.
They had the cavalier ones but those were being sold in the plus-size feminine product isle...so i heard.
Live in SC so my local Wally World won't have them.
I am not ashamed to admit that I have one of these.
I love Carol Lee's and all, but I had pie at my wedding because #TeamPie doesn't take a vacation.
well, I had a traditional wedding cake at my wedding but I still had Pie that night as well.
I'm sure they've already attended mass at St. Mary's.
My only concern for the Fuente Family is losing access to that excellent bbq. I don't care what anyone says, Memphis style is the best!
I love the bastard nature of St. Louis style and Memphis style.
You're killing me Smalls! NC style rules!
Which NC style? There are 2.
Eastern for the win.
I had some when I moved here.
Technically my favorite is Lexington style - which is not really 'eastern' NC.
Although 12 Bones in Asheville, NC is by far my all time favorite.
I can't help it. I need my tomato base.
Yep, Lex style is good, but a good eastern style trumps it every time. Every time, I say, every time.
Technically there're three styles - Eastern, Western, and Lexington (chopped vs. pulled). I grew up near Lexington, and my late dad is probably going to roll over in his grave for me saying this, but I definitely prefer Eastern style. Wilbur's, King's, and many others will always be my favorites.
Ahh- Mike Whaley is opening BOTS- below TOTS of course in about a month.... told me this is going to be a quality BBQ joint, not some college hangout :-)

She's.....attractive.....I'm just saying....
there are some instances where you should resign yourself to just not saying.
I think it is safe to say, He doesn't date ugly girls...
Otherwise, loluva.
I hope somebody explained to her the unnatural color combination that is blue and orange so that she may never accidentally mix two colors I am sure her closet will be full of.
Technically blue and orange are complimentary colors. That's total horseshit though as it clearly should be Chicago maroon and burnt orange.
I remember learning this in school once, but I assumed it was one of those things like when doctors used to recommend cigarettes. We have become smarter since then.
Is everyone avoiding putting her picture on the thread?
She reminds me of my friend in HS. Same hair, both volleyball players. Just great people. She and Coach Fuente make a great couple and have 3 cute little girls. And, from the article, she really sounds like a wonderful person to know. I wonder how involved in Hokie life she will become, but I think it's safe to say that the more the better. Whole family and coaches coming in just seem like high character, class acts. So thrilled with everything going down. Whit is a badass.
