Ladies and gentlemen, that is shaping up to be one heck of a division for the ACC Coastal! Oh #LOLUVA, what the heck are you guys doing with your coaching search....? Hahahaha....
EDIT: This post has been edited to reflect the recent hire by our rivals to the North.
Good hire by UVa. Polite applause please....

I miss that loveable timecop already.
I sure know I'm going to miss seeing him at the Commonwealth Cup games.
if he goes back to being a cop you still might...crowd control at commonwealth cup games require a lot of police manpower, and he has a lot of experience at both
He was better able to control the UVa crowds as coach.

I would be pretty worried about Richt at Miami, but I'm not sure he will be there for a very long time, I could be wrong, but he was already considering not coaching at all a few days ago.
UVa. I expect it won't really matter who they get.
It'll start like this:
And it'll end like this:
I'm guessing their fan is pretty resigned to it all by now.
pretty sure their fan resigned nearly a decade ago
"fan" ... nice. :)
So you're saying LOLUVA football is kind of like the WNBA?
This wins the internet.
Have been trying to DVR " The Biggest Loser", but my tv keeps recording UVA football games.
I'm not sure three question marks really want the UVA job.
Haaaaa
(I know it says it in the bylaws somewhere not to reply with a lol but I think this is warranted)
I'm partial to this one
Mark Richt. I go back to the 2006 peach bowl. We just needed a second half of ball control, and would have pulled off a major win. Instead, five? Six? Turnovers? It was awful. But we finally have an offense to match our D. I really want to sock Richt in the mouth when we play Da U next year. And, it'll be ten years since that infamous bowl game.
Maybe it's the Georgia grad in me, but I blame Glennon for that loss more than I do Richt.
Maybe its the
Georia Grad in mefact that you had eyes that worked...But atleast Im still not bitter about it
Well, I wasn't a Georgia affiliate way back in '06, so there's that. Point made though.
But yeah, I always put that loss on Glennon and his turnovers. All four of them.
Glennon was the MVP of that game.
For Georgia.
no kidding...and the best pass of the game (by far) for us was thrown by a wide receiver
Royal to Boone. It was glorious.
Tailgate Fever at the time hilariously referred to Glennon's T/Os as the "Double Glennon Special." The laughter took away some of the intense sting.
no joke, I literally forgotten all about even playing in that bowl. thanks for the reminder.
Coordinators aren't bad either - Foster, Chizik come to mind
Looks like the Coastal went and got itself in a big damn hurry
Duke - David Cutcliffe
GT - Paul Johnson
Miami - Mark Richt
Pitt - Pat Narduzzi
UNC - Larry Fedora
VT - Justin Fuente
UVa - Fuck This Shit
**I saw this somewhere but it had no source. This is not my original thought but I found it amusing.
"Well...we have Tony Bennett so that's all that matters."- How I picture every UVA fan right now
yeah...that..and whoever their baseball coach (manager?) is

I guess FTS was already on the UVa staff.
Hoo Knew?
I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I want UVA to be good. I want them to be undefeated going into the Commonwealth Cup game. I also want us to be undefeated. I want that game to decide the Coastal Division champion every year. I want the winner of that game to likely end up being the ACC champs and then go to the playoff. I want UVA fans and teams to be hyped up every year, to have hope and expectations, to be realistically pushing for a national championship. And then every year, every year I want us to crush them. To dominate that game, to raise the Cup and then laugh our way to the ACCCG and an ACC championship and the playoff. Every year I want them to get their hopes legitimately high and then watch those hopes end in a puddle of tears and despair.
I'd agree with regards to Miami or GT, but UVA directly competes with us for recruits.
Not me, I want those overbearing, pretentious sob's to lose every game in every sport played. PERIOD
THIS^^^^ so much. It's what's REALLY important.
See, I feel the opposite - I want UVA to be a flaming dumpster fire where no athlete would reasonably ever want to go. I want apathy and expectations of losing to set in, because it dramatically helps VT achieve. I want schools like Miami to achieve what you listed above.
I have said this same thing for years. I am ok eith uva going 11-2 every year. As long as their loses are us and any other keeping them out of the natl champ.
UVA football is tweeting about a big announcement in a few minutes.
Edit: been a few minutes. They got Bronco Mendenhall.
The early indicators are for Bronco Mendenhall.
EDIT: I hope this cost them some money. Is this really an upgrade for Mendenhall, or just a new challenge?
EDIT 2: Sounds like $3.25 million. I wonder if he brings his whole staff...
The ACC Coastal is going to be pretty interesting for the next few years.
That's an interesting hire. I guess?
Wowwwww. Thats a Much Better higher than I was hoping for them.
Yeah. I was really hoping they would have hired Lou Holtz.
I really wanted to see the Mack Brown variety hour come to Charlottesville...bummer, that would've pleased me greatly
Before Bronco Mendenhall got to BYU, they had 3 straight losing seasons. But in 11 years at BYU, he hasn't had 1 losing season. His average season is 9-4 and if he can do that at UVA, they'll build statues for him.
It's sort of amazing, given that they had the Richt malfunction a couple of days ago.
UVA med school is working hard researching a cure for their Richt-al dysfunction problem.
Big difference going from UVA to BYU. If he doesn't fit it, things could get really ugly in Hooville.
He could turn UVA into a solid team but I don't see them dominating anybody any time soon.
Worth noting that after Fuente beat Mendenhall in Memphis' bowl game last year, there was a huge brawl after the game.
This could be fun.
I sure hope Fuente can out-recruit him.
I would think he could, but this sure won't be boring.
The ACC Coastal has been significantly upgraded over the past week.
This does make me very curious about recruiting. Chip West cleaned up with the blue chippers.
Nice.
Let's hope there's still some butt hurt there.
... and if not, let's create some more of it.
Indeed. I like for UVa to be respectable when we beat them.
If by respectable you mean crying in the Commonwealth Cup so VT can quench its thirst, then yes, very respectable.
I'm sure someone will argue this but on paper the ACC as a whole made some huge steps forward this offseason, especially if the Dino Babers Syracuse rumors are true. I'm not sure on paper there was a bad hire this offseason
So....anybody want to talk about going over to the SEC East? /s
Posted in Carousel thread, but ESPN reporting (or re-re-porting) Seth Littrell (UNC OC) to North Texas. Makes Fedora's job harder if he stays.
Official: Dino Babers to Syracuse....
The ACC sure got a lot of well-thought of coaches. And gave them all millions in raises.
YOU get a raise. YOU get a raise. E-VERY-BODY gets a RAISE!
The ACC trying to let everyone know they are serious about football. Let's see if it pays off..I would love nothing more than to dethrone the SEC
^- THIS. I'm so excited for next season to start that I can't sleep anymore!
well, we have two top ten teams battling it out for conference champion. That's more than the SEC can say.
Atlantic is making some good hires too Syracuse got Dino Babers today and I do believe we play them next year. He was the coach at Bowling Green who won against Northern Illinois yesterday to win the MAC conference championship.
Tech plays four teams with new coaches next year: Miami, LOLUVA, ECU and Syracuse.
