Hey guys I've always been really into tennis and follow it pretty closely. Of course I'm a diehard Hokie so I thought of a way to combine the two: Seeing as our team was pretty good last year and could be even better this year, would people be interested if I were to do some write-ups at games this winter and spring?
I'm just trying to gauge interest because I don't know how many people on here like tennis but I'd be glad to do it!

if Chuck Norris approves, I approve. And....
What most TKP posters look like playing tennis...

Good luck to them though for we are all fans of anything Hokie..

as a former high school player I approve
No need to brag about it /s
All I really needed was one thumbs up to be enough, I never thought it'd be a Chuck Norris thumbs up!
I'll try to write up a season preview once exams are done and thanks for any and all support! Being ranked 18th in the nation, I bet one day we can make some noise.
I played tennis up through 25 when I started having shoulder surgeries, I don't follow as much as I used too since we have not had any really good Americans since Agassi retired (Roddick and Isner just never reached their potential). I have never followed college tennis but I would be willing to listen up so go for it!
Great idea. The men's tennis coach, Jim Thompson, was born and raised in Marion, Virginia just an hour down the road from B'burg. He and his family are good friends of mine. He is a pleasant, engaging young man that you will enjoy talking to.
I am a long time tennis player and fan tho knees and feet have turned me to golf. I have a picture of my dad with the Tech 1914-15 tennis team that he was on. Will gladly share with you for this topic, if only I knew how to do it.
Good luck. I think a lot of tkpers will appreciate and respond to your coverage.
Yeah that'd be cool maybe we can work on some sort of history of VT tennis or something. My dad played for the team too but it was 60 years later than your dad so I bet there's some cool parallels with that.
You will love the picture. Long pants, long sleeve white dress shirts, wooden rackets and wussy little tennis shoes. Will try and e-mail picture to Joe Lanza and he can get to you.
A bit off topic, but saw you were from Lyncburg, did you work as an engineer in Lynchburg?
Worked with Wiley and Wilson for 4 years while attending Tech in Co-op program. Utilized other firms during my career with Federal and State governments.
Always liked your username. Big fan of Warthog aircraft. Used to be a unit at Myrtle Beach Air Base.
excellent idea. look forward to your reports.
The tennis players are Hokies too, they deserve to be read about especially if they are doing big things on the tennis courts, but either way I will support them. My wife was a tennis player in high school but did not play at VT, but either way it is enough for me. If you post it there will def. be some people reading it!
You had me at "VT".
Yes! Love tennis! Played since age 14, and still playing.
awesome idea!
