NFL weekly map - will we see Tyrod?

I love 506 Sports. Every week, they show the broadcast maps for all of the regional NFL games.

Usually, I check it out to find out to see if I can see the Ravens in Richmond, but now I'm checking it out for the chances of seeing Tyrod and the Bills. Unfortunately, the Bills game this week is either third or fourth in the pecking order of the early games on CBS. Looking down the schedule, it's looking highly unlikely for most of Virginia to see many Bills games.

Although, if you are in the most southwest part of Virginia, you could probably pick up the Bills game. The rest of the state has the Skins.

(It's a little strange with CBS getting the week 1 doubleheader, now that ESPN has tennis.)

Thanks for the link! I doubt I'll ever get a Bills game out here in Washington (state), but hope springs eternal, right? Right???

(Also, I'm amused that Tri-Cities is labeled on the map. Pleased, but amused)

You'll at least get their thursday night, monday night, and sunday london games. Not terrible

*cough**cough*, REDZONE

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
“I served in the United States Navy"

Redzone is the best

"That kid you're talking to right there, I think he played his nuts off! And you can quote me on that shit!" -Bud Foster

The touchdown montage at the end of the show nearly brings me to tears of joy every week.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

If you have DirecTV, Sunday Ticket is free this weekend, so you can at least see him this weekend.

#TeamPeanutButter - because your cakes, pies, cookies, and ice creams are better with it!

I get both the bears game and the bills game. Its going to be a good weekend.

I thought the NFL blackouts were no longer allowed.

Games have always been broadcast regionally, though..

Leonard. Duh.

No on the map there are cities with "Blackout due to NFL RULES"

I think it has to do with the home team playing.

On the CBS Early map, the main "blackout/no game" areas are around Chicago, St. Louis, and Jacksonville. All of those teams are playing on FOX in the early slot, as a single header.

I think the rule is that the home team can't have any other game in the home market while they're playing. Since those teams are playing on the single header network in the early slot, there is no second game in the late slot to provide them.

Meanwhile, over in DC, the Redskins play the early slot on CBS, but they get one of the FOX late games.

It's one of those weird NFL TV rules that doesn't completely make sense.

And starting with week 3, 506 Sports changes the text to read "NO GAME due to local home team on FOX" (as CBS has the double header)

The week 2 maps are up (same link in the first post).

Most of Virginia will get to see T-Mobile this week on CBS, opposite the Redskins game on Fox. However, the Ravens' late game will prevent the DC/NOVA area from seeing the Bills. (Interestingly enough, the Tidewater stations are getting the Ravens as well.)

Argh, there's a patch of green just south of me! All I wanna do is watch Tyrod :(

Might as well break the bad news now...week 3's not looking good either. The late games on CBS will be Chicago at Seattle and Buffalo at Miami.

Week 4 could be promising. Fox has the doubleheader, with Giants/Bills, Eagles/Redskins, and Panthers/Bucs as early games. Not sure which one will be the "default" game...probably depends on records.

In Week 5, CBS has the doubleheader, and Titans/Bills is one of their early games. I could see that one getting some wide coverage, as fans would be interested in the new QBs for both teams.

As I mentioned in another thread, there's always week 7 (London game streamed on Yahoo), Week 10 (Thursday night, but same time as VT/GT), and Week 11 (MNF).

Yeah, I'm pretty resigned to not getting many of his games out here on the west coast, but that little patch of green right under me is so tantalizing! Rawr!

Does anyone have a link (hopefully compatible with mobile) to a Bills or any other NFL stream?

Listening on XM. Not good Bob. They can't get open, and can't play defense, although short fields & penalties aren't helping.

Sounds like Bills were insisting on the run even though NE stacking the box.

Tyrod just got a nice scrambling and TD pass.

Penalties killing the defense.

Sounds like they built the stadium on top of a train station. They should invest in a turkey call.

Ugh, 2 picks already. Wth was Tyrod thinking??

Sounds like Tyrod had a rough day. Box score says he had 3 TD, 3 INT, and 2 fumbles although neither was lost. They lost 40-32 to the Fighting Bradys

Not a bad day if you have him on your fantasy team.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

Tyrod got more fantasy points than Aaron Rodgers. In my league it was 34.40 vs. 28.75. I might have QB controversy on my team.

I'm still starting Tyrod over Peyton this week. No reason not to unless the matchups are absolutely one-sided.

Yahoo is saying that the Dolphins have been pretty stingy with the points for opponents, which could limit Tyrod's fantasy value.

However, we're still not sure which Peyton Manning we're getting tonight. Has Kubiak finally relented on his system enough for Peyton to be Peyton?

It's all a toss up. All I know is that if Tyrod had been a starting QB last year, I would have played him over Peyton during December.

Define stingy. /s

This just proves that the "analysis" Yahoo provides for fantasy is complete horse poop.

Of course, to them, nobody is more than a 2nd player in a given spot.

Seemed to me like Buffalo was just kinda farting around for most of the game. Tyrod looked sharp towards the end though. He was mounting quite the comeback before a ball tipped by one of his receivers finished things.

Every second counts

tyrod looked sharp, It was either that or minnesota for me today. He had stretches that looked amazing, Buffalo fans LOVE him

Taylor, looking desperately throws it deep..HAS A MAN OPEN DANNY COALE WITH A CATCH ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FIVE!!!!....hes still open

I don't think that last INT was his fault. Watkins should've come down with that. Plus, it's not like the D helped much during the 1st half.

Not to mention that the buffalo o line resembles the one that glennon has to try and survive behind.

But I guess that's what you expect from Klempson receivers in crunch time. Amiright?

Since the Kam Chancellor dispute is still unresolved, I think he needs to come play for the Giants. We need all the defense we can get in the last two minutes of regulation!

OT: Fivethirtyeight does some really cool things with statistics, and Tyrod was named their "gunslinger of the week." Not necessarily the greatest thing in the world, but cool nonetheless.

We are the Hokies. We will prevail. We will prevail. We will prevail. We are Virginia Tech.

That's the problem with stat nerds - they don't get the nuance of the game. You're only a "gunslinger" if your team wins. Losers are "careless with the football"

This week (#3), you have to be in New England or Florida (or at least bordering those areas) to see Tyrod and the Bills. Unless you get that one random Texas station showing the game (is that because of Tannehill and A&M?).

I live in NC but I'm neighbors with a hardcore Dolphins fan who has Sunday ticket so I'll be able to see Tyrod over there. I just need to be careful not to yell "YEAH! T-MOBILE BABY, IN YOUR FACE" and get asked to leave.

I saw Tyrod. I saw Tyrod throw a TD pass.

Tyrod 15/20 192 yds 2 TD at the HALF..... this makes me smile again :)

All of a sudden, I found myself in love with the world

Was ding a ding, dang my dang a long ling long....

Already at 22 fantasy points vs. 17 projected. He's making a case for me to bench Rodgers.

Not sure I would do that, but his passing numbers plus the ability to run makes him very attractive. Might get some high value in trade.

We're likely to see Vick now on Thursday, pending the results of Roethlisberger's ankle tests. He came in today and went 5/6 passing in a game that featured very little offense.

That's right: we might see that one of every 16 starting QB's in the NFL next week is from VT.

Can somebody with computer skills screen shot the last clip at about 22 seconds in?
It highlights some of Miami's finest 'hired help' reacting to the play.
Classic.

T-Mobile straight up MURDERED the fins today. Murdered ya!!!

Week 4, and the Bills are the default early game. Although SEC territory and the VA to PA regions have other games.

I read that the Redskins Eagles game was supposed to be the default, but they don't want to take chances with the rain coming in. Although, I suppose if that game isn't played at 1 on Sunday, we 'll see Tyrod.

Week 5 -- limited Tyrod action. Mainly New York, New England, and Tennessee, as well as a few random spots. It's on in a large chunk of Oregon.

I've decided that I just need to move to upstate New York, solely so I can watch Tyrod play

I would love to see what analysis is done to decide which games to show in which areas. For instance, why is Baltimore watching the AZ vs. Det. game, instead of the Washington game?

My only guess...FULLER effect

Because Baltimore is playing at home on CBS in the early slot.

You'll notice that the Atlanta market doesn't have an early CBS game. That's because the Falcons are playing at home on FOX, who has the single header.

By NFL rule, the home team is the only team that can be on in their home market during that game.

Since Baltimore is already playing on the doubleheader network, FOX can just slot in the random late game so they still have a game on in that market.

Also, you'll notice that the Az/Det game is also on in the Nashville, Buffalo, St. Louis, Green Bay, Jacksonville, and Tampa Bay markets -- all teams who have an early game on CBS.

506 actually has some decent FAQs on that front, but they're buried in previous years' maps.

Well, it looks like the answer this week is going to be a no...

Yet, the Bills are on all the way from SC to Maine (except for Pittsburgh and NYC), and westward into the couchburners' state and parts of Ohio and Kentucky. (So, for most of us, they are the CBS alternative to the Redskins.) Just in case anyone has become an accidental Bills fan.

Hopefully, Tyrod is back for the London game next week, streaming on Yahoo.

Still a chance he could play, but you're right, it is probably just Rex and the Bills making sure that Cincy has to spend at least a little time preparing for Tyrod.

Looks like the Pitt game will be limited as well. I'll be driving for most of the day anyway so looks like it was a good weekend to drive on Sunday.

National game for the Bills this week, hopefully Tyrod will be back. (I need him for my fantasy team as Aaron Rodgers is on a bye.)

Wake up at 9:30 on Sunday and find a Yahoo app to stream the game. (Unless you're in Buffalo or Jax and can watch on your local CBS channel.)

https://nflstream.yahoo.com/

It appears that Yahoo got things straight with a lot of companies as a Yahoo app for Amazon Fire TV just got released last week, just in time for the game.

Bills are off this week, but I'm bumping to make this easier to find next week, and if anyone wanted to take a look at this week's maps.

But is anyone else concerned with how unbalanced the schedule is this week? In addition to the London morning game, Fox has 5 early games, and only one late game in the double header slot. Meanwhile, CBS only has 4 games. This is the second week in a row that Fox has only had one game in the late slot for the doubleheader, forcing the entire country to watch the Cowboys.

But hey, Chris Cooley is calling the Cardinals/Browns game.

Tyrod's likely back this week, but coverage is sparse.

Good news, bad news time.

Good news is that Tyrod and the Bills play a national game.

Bad news is that it's tonight on NFL Network at the same time as the Hokies.

No Tyrod today...because he's on Monday Night Football! (except it against the Patriots)

Hey he almost had a comeback against them. He was making some magic happen.

I guess I'm still thinking about the Redskins/Patriots game.

I didn't expect the Skins to win, but dammit, it would have been nice to see them be able to run more than one play in the first quarter. Stupid onside kick....

Tyrod doing Tyrod things...announcer says "reminds me of Russell Wilson", I'm like "?!? Reminds me of Tyrod Taylor!" They did use the opportunity to show their head-to-head matchup where Tyrod got the 41-30 victory.

Bills however continuing to increase mistakes and lose opportunities to pull ahead. If they don't score on this possession they lose. Rex looks like he's given up already.

Tyrod is on in RVA tomorrow! This is about the only time that it's actually working out for CBS 6 to be different than all of the other Virginia stations.

Tyrod did pretty good against the Pats again. Unlike Brady he didn't throw a single INT the entire game.

Minimal coverage for the Bills this weekend, pretty much limited to upstate NY, Texas, and Indiana.

Another standout game for Tyrod (why the hell hasn't he received ANY consideration for the Pro Bowl??).

Tyrod is having a really good year. Still seem to handcuff him a little bit (not many attempts a game) but that's moreso because they are doing an old-school run-first play tough D style this year. Would probably be getting more hype if he hadn't missed a few games with that MCL injury because that kind of messed up the Bills season. They'd probably be a solid wildcard pick right now if they had Tyrod for those games.

With my Giants having so many last minute defeats this year, I'm glad Tyrod is succeeding in the NFL just as most of us knew he would. I expect The G-Men will have a new head coach next year and 2016 will be a brave new world for my football teams.

Minimal coverage for Tyrod this week, pretty much limited to Buffalo and Philly.

But next week, the Bills play the Redskins, which should be seen in most of Virginia. I'm seeing that the game has been flexed over to the early slot on Fox, instead of the usual CBS slot used by the visiting AFC team.

Official map is up at 506. As expected from my last post, it's still minimal coverage, but at least in an area that I assume most of us reside.

Meanwhile, I'm trying to figure out the Richmond market in regards to the NFL and CBS. A lot of weeks, it seems to be the dividing line on the map, and we don't get as many Ravens games as you would think from proximity. (A lot of Steelers and Jets, though).

This week, it's the one random station in Virginia getting Texans/Colts. North of us is the Chiefs/Ravens, and south is Titans/Patriots. WTF?

Tyrod gets payback against Andrew Luck and Kellen Moore in the same year. Bitchin.

Tyrod tore it up against the Cowboys yesterday!
He uncharacteristically threw a red-zone pick (20:6 TD to INT ratio so far this year!) but was money on some late-game heroics. His scrambling has been a difference-maker for a bad Bills offense, and he's been the lone bright spot for a bad team.
Western NY are believers now, as is the Bills coaching staff and management. Since this is his first year starting he's well past anyone's reasonable expectations. If he develops a bit more chemistry with his receivers next year he'll have a permanent home in Buffalo.

Yeah seems like he has (rightfully) gained the support of most Bills fans. However, there is a vocal group calling to get rid of him on twitter, granted, that's true about just about any player in regards to twitter.
