I hate Jim Weaver

Y'all wanna really get pissed off at Jim Weaver? Take a look at who's number 12 on this list for projected lottery picks in next years NBA Draft. Just ridiculous how little he cares about our basketball program, it's like he doesn't care that he set us back 10 years with the timing of firing Greenberg.

I love that the #1 projected player is named after Ender...

It was a catch

After the way he played in the tourney, there's no doubt he would be our best player right now.

with the right coaching at least

Bad timing or not, Greenberg being fired was the right move. He was not the answer, and constantly blamed his players in post game press conferences. Not my type of coach. With Dodo already halfway out the door, I don't think you could have possibly kept Greenberg and Harrell, no matter when he was fired. Therefore, I'd rather take losing Harrell then still having Greenberg.

The sad part, is I just don't think Johnson is the answer. But I'm willing to give him time. We shall see, also not a Weaver apologist here, just think of all the shit he's done, this isn't on him.

People point to the fact that keeping Greenberg meant losing Green, and while Green was a fun story last year, VT still finished the season dead-last and will likely be picked dead last to start this year too. The way Weaver went about it was straight douchey...which some will say Greenberg deserved. I still feel that the athletic department is lazy with its hires and is stuck about five years behind the curve on a lot of things.

I had thought Greenberg had his eye on television for a while. He's pretty good at it, too. I think Weaver knew of this and decided to get the guy gone if he wanted another job anyway. This is all conjecture on my part.

Having said that, it will be a long road back for the basketball program. And with Pitt, Syracuse, and Louisville...well, let's just say we are in for it.
