Keith Simms, a highly thought of 3 star linebacker from Maryland, has tweeted that he is visiting. With linebacker being a position of need and only two linebackers (Tavante Beckett and Emmanuel Belmar) verbally committed, Simms would be a huge get.
Wow yea he's a pretty high 3* and with offers from Harvard and Yale so he must be a pretty smart kid. If he would be willing to move inside he sounds like a prefect fit for Mike to me.

If you're really that worried about it, then I'll copy and paste it from TSL next time. This kind of thing is public info, you can see the same list on TSL or Rivals. If it's a scoop from CZY or EGW then I would never put it on here.

OT but I sure hope the coaches have been drilling hard about the fact if these guys come to VT they'll have the opportunity to play in front 160,000 people in September. That seems like a great thing for recruiting.

Don't go by what the recruits say. They're not the ones using age against Beamer and that's not what the argument is. Other schools were using Beamer's impending retirement as negative recruiting against us. That is what Bud said. He said that other schools were in kids' ears saying, "you'll play for a legend but he won't be there the whole time." All the recruits that we've heard anything from have a proper respect for Beamer, at least outwardly. That doesn't mean his age wasn't a factor; it just had a different source.

Every school tries to find the weak spot in the armor of every school they're recruiting against. Think about every power 5 school in the mid-Atlantic for about 2 minutes and it's pretty easy to come up with a 2 or 3 negative recruiting angles. Beamer's age was simply one of the angles used against VT. That doesn't mean it was always (or even particularly) effective.

I'm going to be visiting this weekend. Let me know where these recruits are and I'll buy them all Rails. It's the Friendly Blacksburg Hello!
Edit: This is clear sarcasm btw. The whole "alumni interacting with recruits" and "buying alcohol for minors" things are not hobbies of mine in case the NSA/NCAA are watching.

Thread from the Auburn site on Moore. Passes the eye test. Lifelong Auburn fan but it's not clear if he has a commutable offer there. He's running out of weeks, January enrollee

Not me, I gotta work.
Guerry should just roll with Sandman17 next year and just change the twitter handles. It works and you get a BOGO deal on the slogan.
If this is a big visit weekend and if my intuition is on at all, I bet we see an awesome Alex Koma article coming soon

Thanks for the info.
247 sports Keith Simms
Big body, solid offer list.
Interesting that Zohn listed as lead recruiter with Foster.
I hope Fuente/Foster can impress him more than Durkin/London.

Don't tell this guy, he thinks he's the Mike for the next 2 years:
Let me rephrase. The perfect Mike of the future. I'm perfectly fine with redshirt sophomore Simms sliding into the role after Motu graduates.
I'd be happier if Lydon slides in there sometime between now and then...
The current Freshmen always get forgotten in these discussions.
Yes they do. Edmunds has the potential to be very good at OLB as well.
I'm also hearing a QB might be visiting this weekend.
Does anyone have the info
Someone in the giant recruiting thread reported that QB Caleb Evans from Dallas Texas is making the trip
https://rivals.yahoo.com/byu/football/recruiting/player-Caleb-Evans-163967
Think I also saw that his older brother, Jerod Evans, is also making the trip.
Jerod is currently the #1 JUCO DT-QB and the #9 overall JUCO according to 247 Sports.
The football brothers trend at VT lives on!!!
more accurate to say Jerod is making the trip and Caleb is coming with him. Jerod is a lock P5 QB, while Caleb plans to walk on wherever Jerod lands.
Hope Fuente can land this guy since there is no clear-cut heir apparent on the roster right now.
Confirmed list on 247:
Jmmie Taylor
Keith Simms
Caleb Evans
Demetri Moore (JUCO)
Cedrick Wilson (JUCO)
Jerod Evans (JUCO)
C'mon man that is behind the pay wall don't do that.
It's on TSL for free.
Then copy and paste it from there. They left out the i on Jimmie on 247 so it was directly copied and pasted from there.
good detective work....
facts is facts

Samuel Denmark visiting the Gamecocks this weekend reportedly. Don't blame him for making the short drive to check things out
Schurbrtt Cbed him to SC east yesterday hope theres no weight to it
Keith Simms meeting with Coach Beamer during his visit (he is on campus right now.)
But he is so old!!! How can he relate to kids!!!
Okay, there are sources saying Bud Foster said this was a factor...
Actually what he said was "other schools used his age to recruit against Tech",
How is that different than what HokieBone just said?
Have we seen a single recruit say Beamer's age was a factor in their decision?

Beamer is getting old but it still seems a bit harsh for these kids to be calling him a goat.
look Beamer up in the dictionary and you'll find this: Greatest Of All Time
I looked up Greatest Of All Time and just found Beamer's picture.
Look him up on this site a few months ago and many of us thought he was a horse: His Outstanding Renaissance Should End
I think he's trying to say that Beamer is a baa-d baa-d man

New Crystal Ball.....
Cedrick Wilson JUCO WR Committed to Boise St
Yep. Lead recruiter is Shibest
Now is that "is", "has", or "was"?
"Is," soon to be "was"
Now we need the JUCO trifecta: Moore
