"I couldn't believe it when I opened up the package," Watson said. "I feel privileged, and I feel slighted at the same time, but hey, I'm one in a million. I guess the ring guy was making too many and either fell asleep at the machine or he must be an SEC fan. Somebody's got some 'splainin' to do.
"It's really nice. It just says SEC on it."
Just got my Championship rings. Apparently I'm the only player in #Fsu history to win an SEC Championship! #Legendary pic.twitter.com/MCWmLYyKHi— Menelik Watson (@MenelikWatson71) July 10, 2013

maybe whoever made it is either not a college football fan or more of a casual fan. since all he hears from espn is SEC! SEC! SEC! he just assumed.
This might be the best conference realignment strategy I've seen yet.

can probably get a new one and the worth of that ring is probably a fair amount....
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Keep that SEC ring and sell it down the road because it is one of a kind and then get a new ring with ACC on the side. Best of both worlds.
Could allowing him to keep the ring be viewed as an impermissible benefit especially if he sells it later? I read somewhere that he will receive a replacement for the mis-engraved ring, but since its something that the other players didn't receive and since its presumably of greater value than the replacement ring, it seems to me like allowing him to keep the ring AND receive a replacement, especially at no cost would at least be a gray area.
Watson is in the NFL now, so impermissible benefits aren't an issue. The rest of the team is getting their rings all at once sometime soon. There could be some typos in those too, so they'll have to figure out what they're allowed to do. Making any money off of it would probably present a problem - OSU anyone?
Looks like the SEC is just going to try to take credit for any and all championships they can.
Guy who made the ring is probably a Georgia fan and did it just to rub it in Florida's face
I still can't believe the score was that close...
If only we were given the chance to play in that game! I feel like we would have been able to get revenge for that Thursday night game.
He'll make a ton of money selling that thing off if he doesnt make it very far in the pros. That ring will be one of a kind. Maybe Vladimir Putin would be interested.
In Soviet Russia, SEC Championship wins you!!!
Nice pull for Yakov Smirnoff...please enjoy this Turkey Leg
My only question is what is the need to put the score and opponent on the ring? I my personal opinion i think it's a little tacky.
