Kendall Fuller Will Declare for the NFL Draft

The youngest of the Fuller brothers will leave the Hokies early for the NFL Draft.

[Michael Shroyer]

The Virginia Tech athletic department confirmed a report from Neil Stratton that Hokies' junior corner Kendall Fuller will declare for the 2016 NFL Draft.

Fuller had a sensational career as a Hokie, even considering it was cut short by a torn meniscus three games into his junior campaign. He was honored as an All-ACC and All-American performer many times over. Fuller was tremendous in coverage and attacking the quarterback off the edge.

Fuller committed to Tech on July 29, 2012, and was the first 5-star player (according to Rivals) to sign with the Hokies since Tyrod Taylor in 2007.

Virginia Tech is better because the Fuller brothers were Hokies," Frank Beamer said in a release. "Vinny, Corey, Kyle and Kendall were all different, but they were all the same in that they were smart, competitive, very athletic and great teammates, who possessed great character. Those qualities are all a tribute to their parents. The Fullers are what college football players should be. It is an honor for me that each of them followed their brother to Virginia Tech. It was my privilege to coach all four of them."

The Fullers are one of the 25 different sets of brothers who played for Beamer at Virginia Tech.

ESPN draft Batman Mel Kiper Jr. ranked Fuller the No. 18 overall prospect on December 10, 2015.

No changes here. Since Fuller has been out for the season, he should be in full draft-prep mode and can help an NFL team next year. Kendall is the top prospect at this stage among the Fuller gang. He has great instincts in coverage, plays physical and was an All-American in 2014, even though (again) he wasn't at 100 percent.

ESPN draft Robin Todd McShay ranked Fuller the No. 32 prospect on November 12, 2015.

Fuller tore his ACL against Purdue in Week 3. He's still one of the top talents in this class, thanks to his ability to play outside or in the slot, compiling two INTs and 15 pass breakups last season. Fuller isn't as fluid in coverage as you'd hope, but he's such a complete player otherwise that it rarely matters. His three older brothers -- Vincent, Corey and Kyle -- all play or played in the NFL.

NFLDraftScout.com is less bullish than ESPN's duo, and has Fuller ranked No. 46, the 6th overall corner.

Aw shi*. Wish him the best .

Fuller tore his ACL against Purdue in Week 3.

I thought he only had a meniscus tear?

The Orange and Maroon you see, that's fighting on to victory.

That's why McShay is Robin.

What would you call the exact opposite of the Dynamic Duo? Because that's what those two chuckleheads represent.

The Orange and Maroon you see, that's fighting on to victory.

Surprisingly, Kiper is one of few people to not act like a meniscus tear is a lisfranc fracture. Seen him drop as low as 3rd-4th round. Then again, luckily, nfl scouts know better.

TODD! TODD! TODD! TODD! TODD! TODD! TODD! TODD!

Good thing McShay still didn't know what injury Kendall actually had on November 12th...

sheeeeit, that sucks for #DBU. But best of luck in the NFL. Do us Hokies proud. #Mo money mo problems.

I'm just going to be over here, if anyone needs me. In a darkened room. In the fetal position. Sobbing.

Good luck, Kendall. Thanks for being fucking awesome. Go make lots of money being fucking awesome.

Oh, we need you alright. We need you to suit up. The time has come.

"Exit light..."

K. Fuller has first round talent. I cant blame him for going to the NFL early. VT simply needs a fifth Fuller!

Godspeed young man, Godspeed.

I also can't find the GIF where he came off the edge and had a sack at anOSU. That was one of my favorite plays.

Best of luck Kendall, and thanks for the memories!

I found TKP after two rails from TOTS then walking back to my apartment and re-watching the 2012 Sugar Bowl. I woke up the next day with this username.

I can't wait to see what he does in the Pros.

Give 'em hell, Kendall!

Going to be awesome when he and his brother are All Pro corners and Kam continues to be an All Pro safety. DBU indeed, best of luck Kendall.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

Good for him. Go get some Kendall, we'll be watching on Sundays. Would love to see him, kyshoen, and d hall in burgundy and gold next year.

I will bet the mortgage that Virginia Tech will be the only school to produce 3 brothers that are on NFL 53 man rosters, if not starting next year.

Eat that other schools everywhere.

Sigh.

It's like Jayron Hosley all over again. Gone too soon. What might have been.

Godspeed, Kendall. You are about to make an obscene amount of money.

Argh, hopes dashed. Well, good luck final fuller. I hope you do awesome at the next level and continue to add to the legacy of DBU.

We didn't get as much out of Kendall as I'd hoped, but I wish him the best of luck. He's a credit to Hokie Nation.

+1 for Bogart.

Inevitable. Best of luck Kendall!

Add another one to the DBU legacy, plus it won't hurt to have another 1st rounder to speak to our tradition and coaching there.

The Hokie Nation is sad to see him go, but we will still get to watch him play in the pros. Hopefully the next generation of Fullers will be headed our way soon.. (but not soon enough!!)

Thanks goes the "Mom and Dad" Fuller for raising such highly respectable men. Hats off to you!

I thought this might happen if he had a good year and high stock, but after the injury I thought he might stick around. Then Frank retired and I knew it was going to happen. Especially when he was still highly rated recently. =(

Oh well, good for him.

1st round DB talent?

Add that to the resume here.
Kendall we wish you could stay but you're still helping us by moving onto the NFL. Best of luck

Keep calm, Gobble on

This makes the miss on Levonta Taylor hurt that much more, number 1 CB in the nation, is from Va Beach and chose the criminoles I really dislike them that much more now! I hope Clemson and Miami take it to them for years for getting Sweat, Nnadi, Ball, Taylor, and I am sure there are a lot of others...

FIRST DOWN, HOKIES!

We are absolutely fine at DB, but yeah any school in the country would welcome Taylor with open arms.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

This season has seen the end of a lot of eras. Sad clown pablitovt.

Man, an end of a generation...

What's next? Our long time fixture (legend) of a coach will be leaving? Fortunately that's unlikely to happen, right?

Seriously, it's been so fun to watch. Vinny was in my class and it has been so great to watch from a relatively unknown to such an impactful family for our school.

Best of luck Kendall

Kendall....make a ton and thanks to you and your brothers. Mom and Dad too for raising good kids!

Even when you get skunked; fishing never lets you down. 🎣

Sad news but at this point we can get a good return on this investment via 'crootin if he can be a first rounder.

On a related note, maybe it's time to send Mama Fuller a bouquet of flowers thanking her for her services to our university.

I have no idea why my username is VT_Warthog.

Arkansas blew a 24-0 lead in the Belk Bowl.

Name a building after her!

See you later, alligator.
After a while, crocodile.
See you later, mashed potater.
See you soon, macaroon.
Say goodbye, pumpkin pie.

Catch you later, operator.
Adios, cinnamon toast.
See you later!

Thank you Kendall! Much luck and success in the NFL!

shouts out to sam rogers

Best of luck Kendall. Thanks for the memories. Time for TheFifthFuller to suit up.

If you play it, they will win.

Once a Hokie, ALWAYS a Hokie.

Kendall's talent is remarkable, the Fuller Family's contribution to Virginia Tech is equally as remarkable.

All the best to you, Kendall, and the rest of your family.

I can't wait for the Mama Fuller grandchildren that are hopefully future Hokies.

Exit Light, Enter Night....Go Hokies

Thank you Fuller Family for all you have done for Tech. And Silver and Black should be picking mid 1st round and we needs Corners, I think our chances...

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
“I served in the United States Navy"

Whit should have "Fuller Day" for one of our games next year. Invite the Fuller parents and honor them on the field.

Good guys.

Gotta grab da ca$h money $$$ while ya can. I will miss him & Face in the backfield closing 'em down.

Another defensive back comes out of Tech with an early draft ticket into the NFL. That's as good as him staying for another year.

Apparently Bucky graded higher than expected, looks like he may end up going too

The NFL draft advisory board has already met?

I'm assuming he has an agent in his ear telling him how great he is. IMHO unless Fuente has meet with him and told him it wouldn't be a big piece of the chess set, it would be in his best interest to stay. He still has A LOT to learn and improve. Plus, with the promise of the new system he could be poised for a huge season (improving his stock).

This one feels like a Shyrone Stith situation to me (he was told he would be an early round pick, decided to leave, was a 7th round pick, only played 3 years). Meantime, the year he left, Lee Suggs lead the nation in scoring.

We put the K in Kwality

I don't think he needs an agent to advise him to file with the NFL. Even I know that much. Stith's mistake was that he chose to believe Mel Kiper over the NFL, and the NFL turned out to be correct.

"Our job as coaches is to influence young people's lives for the better in terms of fundamental skills, work ethic, and doing the right thing. Every now and again, a player actually has that effect on the coaching staff." Justin Fuente on Sam Rogers

Best of luck to you Kendall and thank you to all the Fuller's. BTW, I am still pissed about the Curry's, damn Greenburg!

[curls up into fetal position]

McShay's Mock Draft 1.0 just came out and he projects Kendall to go #21 to Indy. FWIW-he has two fullers in the first round with Will going to Cincy.

We put the K in Kwality

Will Fuller is nuts. I wish we could have played ND this year to see the Fuller-on-Fuller action. Epic Battle of the Titans for the Ages!
