Some Hokie History that was saved from the Dumpster

So after consulting Joe about this, I'm going to share some insight on my day today.

I work at Cassell Coliseum and one of my regular roles is to help coaches/administrators move offices. Today I helped Billy Hite go from his cozy corner office on the 2nd floor to the abyss known as the 5th floor. After I transported the stuff he was keeping he mentioned to me that there was stuff he wanted thrown out. He told me I could go through it and keep what I wanted and after looking through the stuff I thought about the community of TKP. Well now that I am home I have sorted through the stuff and I have included a photo and a list of what was destined for the trash truck.

3 Mike Vick autographed programs from November 25, 2000
4 Cedric Humes/Mike Imoh autographed programs from September 24, 2005
4 Branden Ore autographed programs from November 11, 2006

So far I have contacted Campus Emporium about selling some of the stuff*, but I also thought about letting the TKP get first crack at some of Hokie History. Other than the small MV7 photos, the autographed items are 100% legit. If anyone is interested, they can contact me in the comments or email at wjbaker11@gmail.com

*Disclaimer: This is not associated with The Key Play and the sale of any item does not directly benefit The Key Play. Although I do plan to buy a #BeatBama shirt or two with initial profit.

4 Branden Ore autographed programs from November 11, 2006
1 Branden Ore autographed 2007 Athlon Sports preview
1 San Francisco Bowl from December 31, 2002 signed by Lee Suggs

14 MV7 White autograph (vs Miami), 22 detached chinstrap MV7, 1 MV7 solo shot
just under 100 Celebrating Undefeated Regular Season MV7 Signed photos

For those that have bought stuff, I plan on shipping them tomorrow for those that need shipping. For those still interested, prices are fairly reasonable and if you don't think so, just come up with an offer and I'll try to work with you.

Edit: Also, not football related, but also acquired recently, framed AD Vassallo picture. Taking best offer and mostly looking for local buyer as it would be kinda hard to ship:

You mean, "AD Vassallo picture featuring Deron Washington about to throw down off the miss"

I can't see a picture of Deron Washington without hearing chants of 'teabag Paulus' ringing through my head... its a beautiful thing

Save a collar, pop a Wahoo

My roommate next year is a Duke fan so I'm gonna get a picture of Deron jumping over Paulus blown up and put it up in the living room.

Rip his freaking head off!

Pshh that's nothin... *silently cries*

There's also that place down on south main street next to the wine store and Kroger if it's still around to sell to if you are having trouble selling anything but I doubt you will have any trouble selling. I got a lot of my memorabilia framed there when I lived in Blacksburg

You got some Great items!

@VTimHokie85

Did this with that store and a couple others and mostly got a run around. Made me glad I went this route, because they aren't buying much since they are having trouble selling, but I think that is because they charge way too much. I set my prices based off of what I thought I'd buy something for which is definitely near the low end on price. Didn't have too much problems selling stuff, besides Brandon Ore (have 3 left of those) and the Mike Vick photos since there are so many and are replicated autographs.

So what's Billy Hite's new job? He still going to be organizing the former player reunions and such?

Wiley, Brown, Russell, Drakeford, Gray, Banks, Prioleau, Charleton, Midget, Bird, McCadam, Pile, Hall, Green, Fuller, Williams, Hamilton, Rouse, Flowers, Harris, Chancellor, Carmichael, Hosley, Fuller, Exum, Jarrett

Him and coach Cav are chillin* up in the abyss working for the monogram club. I believe that means they work with alumni and such. *Read chillin as they now share an office after both having really big offices.

Does that mean they don't have any additional football roles? Will Billy not be on the sideline this year? Is Cav not coordinating on-campus recruiting any longer?

By they way, I don't have any interest in memorabilia, but that's still an impressive load and I'm really glad you had the perspective not to throw it away. Somebody will take a lot of joy out of owning that stuff.

Pretty much. I'm sure he will still get a field pass, unless he decides to be up in a suite/box. And correct.

Thank you and I agree. When he said he wanted me to take that stuff to the dumpster I looked at it and was like, um I don't think so. Anyone who has purchased anything can attest my prices have been fair, because I'd rather they go to someone who really wants this stuff. Whenever I see stuff getting thrown out or put down in storage I keep an eye out because I know someone will have a place for it rather than collecting dust in a storage room.

Also, should have an updated item list and I will include prices as well within the next half hour or so.

I can attest - prices are very fair.

@historyhokie.bsky.social

Same.

Ho lee shit, you hit the motherlode

@historyhokie.bsky.social

Awesome stuff.

Joe, for what it's worth, I wonder if it'd be possible to think about setting up a sub-forum area for buying/selling/trading Hokie items. I'm always in the market for interesting Tech stuff and eBay is pretty limited on the cool treasure-trove stuff shown above. Don't know if any other TKP folks might be interested in that?

Cool Mike Vick memorabilia, LMK if you find any Marcus stuff

If you're bored you should look up Marcus's twitter. It's hilarious.

Rip his freaking head off!

For those who can't see, this was one of those gems from Marcus. I have a feeling he said this because he made more mistakes than anyone to ever go to college.

Rip his freaking head off!

oh no
i agree with marcus vick about something

Any other questions, comments, concerns, just shoot me an email or comment below and I'll be sure to respond in a timely manner. Thanks again for the interest, I'm glad these great pieces of Hokie history are finding a home.

What size are the posters/photos?

Don't have exact measurements right now, but I know the photos look to be about a 6 x 4 size. Odd size for a picture frame but I'm sure they are out there.

so is a Lee Suggs Poster the same size as a MV7 Photo?

sorry for all the questions, I just have a lot of wall space to fill haha

No, Posters are 18 by 12

Here is the most up to date inventory list. All orders have been shipped and should arrive shortly. Thank you to those that gave these pieces of Hokie History a new home.

My stuff came in the mail yesterday and I'm very happy. Another big thanks to hokiejoe11 for making the effort to coordinate sales and ship stuff so quickly. I've got a very special new VT decoration and one item that will make for a very unique gift! Thanks again, man. Can't say enough for the great members and awesome community here at TKP.

"Exit light..."

This, this, this, this and this. I was about to post up basically the same thing. Many turkey legs to hokiejoe11 for being so awesome and sharing this all. Everything was packaged well and I got my stuff like 2 days after I ordered it.

@historyhokie.bsky.social

See what happens when I don't keep an eye on TKP 24/7? Will any proceeds go back to VT football in the form of scholarship donations?

#Let's Go - Hokies

I think the proceeds go back into the general Blacksburg community in the form of beers purchases by hokiejoe11

I received my package of swag on Saturday! Thanks for the quick delivery Hokiejoe11! I'll be adding these to a growing collection of grown up VT memorabilia, along side my Uncle's VT Ut Prosim beer stein from ~1972, lunch pail and a VT helmet (yet to be acquired).

Hokiejoe11, you are a gentleman and a scholar. I just wish I would have seen this post early enough to take advantage. Hopefully you keep TKP in mind the next time you hit another motherload like this.

Save a collar, pop a Wahoo

Still have a couple items left for those that may have not seen this post.

1 Mike Imoh/Cedric Humes autographed program from September 24, 2005
4 Branden Ore autographed programs from November 11, 2006
1 Branden Ore autographed 2007 Athlon Sports preview

Programs are $15 a piece. As well as Mike Vike replica autographed photos for 2.50 a piece and can be bundled for discount:

14 MV7 photos, 1 MV7 solo shot 74 Celebrating Undefeated Regular Season MV7 Signed photos

Since it is the holiday season, I figured I'd share what is left of the inventory especially since there are quite a few more members now:
3 Authentic signed game programs signed by Brandon Ore $15 each
Multiple replica signature Mike Vick 5x7 pictures. $2 each (About 10 or so of the middle one and 60 or so of the undefeated season ones.)

Email is still the same as in the post and the disclaimer only changes in the sense that I will be getting HOAT and Decade of Dominance shirts as christmas gifts.

Poor Brandon...no respect.
