How come Pitt plays us so hard when they're ranked so low? I don't like Pitt.
No way is ECU better than half the ACC. I refuse to believe that.
Weaver seems to think so since we signed a 50 year deal with them
Wake and NCSt have also been on there already... I just didn't post them as they aren't opponents and I didn't want to spam the discussions feed with it...
what team on that list is better than ECU?
NC State and Wake, and my heart wants to say Pitt, Duke and Maryland, but my head says no to those 3.
NCSt is #53, which is right about the same spot. Plus they're breaking in a new head coach, new qb, and weren't exactly world-beaters last year anyway.
Wake wasn't a bowl team last year, and lost it's last three games by > 30pts. I'd say the rankings are pretty fair - there are just some poor/mediocre teams in the ACC this year...
No Marshall yet. Interesting. You can argue ECU and Marshall are not better than the 1/2 the ACC, but both are more likely make bowls this year than Maryland, UVA, Duke and BC. (Don't know why Pitt is so low though)
Well, just because they are more likely to make bowls doesn't make them a better team. I would probably pick a 4-10 BCS team over a 6-6 Sun Belt or C-USA team any day.
Pitt's o-line includes 2 freshmen and a converted d-lineman, and the 2 returning starters from a year ago are in new positions. In addition to that, the quarterback is Tom Savage (who is rather slow-of-foot and prone to turnovers when pressured)...
This just makes it worse for when they play us close/beat us. Seriously what is that Pitt has that is so krytonic for us?
for those who didn't want to read the article, in summation:
UNC - great offensive skill position guys, worrisome defense, lost 3 very good starters on the o-line
