The Hokies were busy on the recruiting trail today.
Both 2016 CB Nygel King of Texas (a former Houston commit) and WR Nate Johnson of Tennessee (a Michigan commit) earned offers today.
Blessed to have received an offer from Virginia Tech University pic.twitter.com/2vs2jWSpAT— nygel king (@Flat_top_kidd) January 6, 2016

How many receivers do we need?
All of 'em
Guys we could potentially lose next year: Ford, Hodges, Rogers and McMillian
Facyson, Clark too
Clark?
Chuck Clark will be a senior so he'll be gone after next season.
Wow, I 100% believed that Chuck was about to graduate. That makes me happy.
Rogers? Yes. McMillian? Doubtful. However neither are receivers.
LOVE that play. How many fullbacks can make an All American CB look like a fool? I mean other than Captain America's cousin?
A lot. You have to assume at this point that those 10 or 12 guys who sat the bench last year may never contribute. There was plenty of playing time available last year and none of them stepped up. Maybe one or two of those guys can figure into the rotation. Maybe.
With a new coach who likes to shuffle in and out skill position players, you need to assume that we will play Ford, Phillips + 4-5 new faces. If we need to have at least 4 who can play, you probably need 6+ to choose from. We have Deablo, Kumah, Denmark, Patterson, and maybe Quillen so far. Probably will add two more.
don't quote me on this but in my small circle of people i'm hearing VT/Bud/TG want to try Quillen on the defensive side.
Yeah, I think that's where he ends up as well. Thus, we need more WR's.
Soooo can we get someone to create the WR Rotation Carousel already... this time it might actually work properly
ugh.
VIRGINIA polyTECHnic institute and state UNIVERSITY
Virginia Tech University may not sound normal to you but it's not as egregious as VAH TECH. I wouldn't criticize recruits for using Virginia Tech University. It's all technically there...
Yeah, people shouldn't pick on recruits because they're just starting to figure things out about a bunch of colleges. Hell, our beloved Tyrod called us "the University of Virginia Tech." Now, when ESPN or some major media entity does it, when in our branding guidelines it explicitly says "never refer to the University as Va Tech, Virginia Tech University..." then I get upset.
Cornell Brown did it but that was mostly a swerve to get people to think he was picking UVA.
I heard that's what he actually thought the name was.
I thought Tyrod did it to piss off the Hoos.
I think they need to focus on a solid tight end. Even though Hodges got a "return to school" evaluation from the NFL, I saw where he is still the #1 tight end prospect if he chooses to forego school for the draft. I really hope he stays and plays a season under Fuente's system.
I'm surprised I haven't seen more TE offers. Even if Hodges returns, it will only be a year. We've got Cline, Burke and Cunningham. Maybe Durkin.
I'm expecting Rogers plays an HBack position next year to alleviate some of the sting of losing Hodges (I think he's gone).
Where'd you see that? I've yet to see him ranked above 5th. Just about every draft ranking I've seen has said he needs to return to school.
In the TKP post "Bucky Hodges Article" or at BR here
#1 prospect by some guy with an Internet connection at Bleacher Report.
seems legit.
If we get Nate Johnson, then we need to find a kid named Warren so they can regulate.
This post deserves all the legs.
