i was looking at auburn's offensive numbers last night, a lot of sacks in some of those games. take away the gimmee out of conference games and their rushing totals were pretty poo as well. i know there's more to football than stats and i know auburn was a dumpster fire last year, but the numbers reminded me a lot of ocainspring/newsome type production.

Don't worry, I talked to Augie at a party recently (July 3rd/4th) and he said that Grimes was definitely a better coach than Newsome. Grimey's line will be an upgrade from last year.

Even though the line struggled a bit, especially in the interior during the spring game, at the very least, it looked like everyone was on the same page as far as fundamentals. That, by itself, is an improvement. Word from the practices is that the compete level of the offensive line was much higher than last season. Those two things are the foundation of good things, and if it is just braggadocio, we will know real quick.

Auburn's starting lineup last year also featured one senior, two sophomores, one redshirt freshman and one true freshman. It was a very young group.
