The Hokies offered 2017 athlete Markquese Bell. The 6-3, 190 pound Bridgeton, NJ product is 4-star prospect according to 247Sports.
Blessed to have picked up my 9th offer from the Virginia Tech University #blessed pic.twitter.com/wEEhfmqzwE— PRIME (@MarkqueseB) January 14, 2016
Former TKP writer Mark Trible offered this feedback. Mark covers sports for the Courier-Post in South Jersey.
Hokie fans, kid can ball. Saw him get first in NJ state high jump as well. Big potential. https://t.co/82nvbCeaHm— Mark Trible (@Mtrible) January 14, 2016

New Jersey is a critical area for the Hokies to rebuild their recruiting footpring. Many good Hokies came from Jersey in the Big East era. It is an under-appreciated area for talent.
We must really want him if we offered him 9 times!!
sentence structure, it'll get after ya!
Here is a story on Bell's state title high jump victory.

Virginia Tech University again, sigh...
Might as well just "let it go" since it is becoming a thing. And yes, it sounds like nails on a chalkboard to me too.
In honor of the great Alan Rickmen, never give up, never surrender!
Then if all else fails, kill Dumbledore.
It gets me right in the feels that such a great actor will only be remember by younger people for those crappy kids movies....

Strange eye color but wish granted!

"See, that's your problem, Jason. You were never serious about the craft...By Grabthar's hammer"
Still beats the crap out of Vaaahh Tech.

THE Virginia Tech University!
I THOUGHT THEY MADE A TURKEY EMOJI??!!?
For iPhones.
There are turkeys for Android
So I'm just going to assume that all 4* players are getting an offer this year.... I'm OK with that
Sorta like this?

4* recruits.....
Looks like the emphasis for this kid is "potential". He shows speed and size, both are crucial to success at the P5 level, but his fundamentals are lacking at times. This could be a huge "diamond in the rough" for this class, tho.
Highlights are SOPHOMORE season. No idea how much he has improved this year!
that stiff arm at 2:10.. lol the other guy just looked defeated afterwards laying on the ground like "I give up."
"Virginia Tech University "
You realize what the school's official name is, right?

I'm really old. But I seem to recall when I was in school VPI&SU was used by the university. I'm almost positive I saw it on official university letterhead.
Is this another faulty memory, like the one where I would have sworn we played WF to a zero zero tie at the end of regulation sometime?
honestly, caring about what an 18 year old kid positively refers to VT as is as meaningful as NCAA caring about fans tweeting recruits. the guidelines will never be enforceable and recruits/fans will do what they want anyway.
who cares. hope he chooses the good guys first, THEN care what name he uses.
This logic renders all pet peeves invalid.
I agree, I don't care what a recruit calls us. I was replying specifically to
Virginia Tech University is not and has never been our official name. In fact, its specifically forbidden in our Style Guide.
Maybe we should just call ourselves THE Virginia University, since the other one doesn't hold it's reciprocated name up very well...
I upvoted you for the picture but I have to disagree with your opinion.
Virginia Tech doesn't need a university for us but it does sound way better to say you got into "X University" than it does to say you got into "X." We know X is a university but I can't fault recruits for wanting to emphasize that it is.
And it's still way better than "Virginia Tech College."
Edit: You're welcome for illustrating how bad "Virginia Tech College" sounds.
After they enroll at Virginia Tech, you never hear a player say Virginia Tech University or the University of Virginia Tech.
So the morale of the story is they must all enroll at Virginia Tech. Problem solved.
I like where your head is at!
