Hokies fans, we have exceeded our ACC win total from last season by beating Wake Forest to take us to 3-1 in the conference. This team played steady consistent basketball in long enough spurts to give themselves the opportunity to win. The best part was that it came from a variety of sources, some very unexpected. The Hokies will need to continue that trend since they face a Yellow Jacket team on the road in another nooner snoozer. Buzz will need to get these guys energized early or we face the same dilemma that we did with Duke, in that Georgia Tech can hit perimeter shots all day long if we let them. We cant afford another 12-0 run to start the game.
Georgia Tech doesn't have many bad losses this year outside of a last second buzzer beater that cost them the game against East Tennessee State. Their other losses have come againt either ranked opponents or other P5 schools. Their only quality win is one we share, in that they beat #13 UVA immediately after we beat the Wahoos. The Yellow Jackets will come out strong today as they desperately will want to avoid a 1-4 start in conference play.
![]()
Hokies fans will definitely recognize one of the Yellow Jackets primary contributors this season. Former Hokie Adam Smith (#2) has paced the Yellow Jackets as one of their leading scorers and has reportedly vastly improved his ability on the defensive end. I have not seen it in person yet but in all the game reports I have read it has been a pretty consistent thread throughout. He comes into this game averaging 14.8 PPG, 2.4 RPG, and 1.6 APG. He is currently shooting over 46% from outside so Tech must protect the perimeter or watch him work against us this time with those long distance bombs. Another very surprising change is his ability to maintain control of the ball. So far this season he is only turning the ball over 0.7 times per game.
![]()
Georgia Tech is also led in scoring by Marcus Georges-Hunt (#3) 6'5, 214 Lbs Senior Guard, who is contributing 14.8 PPG, 3.3 RPG, and 2.4 APG. The biggest difference between these two is how they get their points. While Smith relies on the outside shot, with 130 attempts so far this season, Georges-Hunt takes the ball to the rim. Shooting almost 50% from inside, he is also Tech's leader in free throw attempts by a wide margin, with 111 attempts so far this year. He knocks down just over 80% of those attempts. The Hokies will need to be aware of him and play stout straight up defense to keep him from getting easy buckets.

The Yellow Jackets third Senior in the starting lineup is Forward Charles Mitchell (#0), 6'8, 269 Lbs. Mitchell provides Georgia Tech with 12.6 PPG and 11.4 RPG. Quite obviously when you have a double double machine inside the lane, there needs to be more consideration on making sure you have proper position to rebound and work to prevent the easy interior pass to Mitchell. Leday and Blackshear will need to keep their hands straight up and when not in position, they need to resist the urge to reach in. Early ticky tack fouls have been a problem for these guys and until I consistently believe we can count on Henry and Pierce to provide solid minutes every time out I want Leday and Blackshear on the court as much as possible. Mitchell should be a familiar face for at least one Hokie since Seth Allen and he were teammates at Maryland together. They transferred out at the same time but Mitchell was able to get a waiver to play right away so this is his second season with the Jackets.
![]()
The Georgia Tech starting lineup has a fourth Senior in Forward Nick Jacobs (#32) 6'8, 260 Lbs. Jacobs, like Smith, transferred into Georgia Tech this season. He spent his first three years at Alabama before exercising the graduate transfer option. He gives the Jackets 10.1 PPG and 5.6 RPG.
![]()
The last starter is Junior Guard Josh Heath (#11) 6'2, 172 Lbs who is primarily a defensive specialist and offensive facilitator. He averages 3.5 PPG, 1.4 RPG, and 4.3 APG. After Heath there are a handful of Jackets that contribute about 15 minutes per game and average somewhere between 4 and 5 points.
.The Yellow Jackets are a team that is prone to foul trouble, allowing opponents 21 attempts per game right now. Taking that into account and with the Hokies prevalence to get to the line, this could easily shoot up to 30 attempts.
The three things I consider most critical for Tech in this game are:
1) Tech's ability to defend the perimeter, especially against Smith. If we let them get hot from outside it makes us vulnerable defending the lane, which is where our bigs take silly fouls.
2) Energy from the start. Tech has to be in this game mentally right from the start. It's a road game, I am not sure what the student environment will be like, but they have to find a way to keep this game even or build a lead early.
3) Rebounding – considering the big bodies the Jackets can put inside the battle for the boards may decide this game. Tech needs to keep this to an even margin to win this game
It's an away game in a bad time slot but its still ACC college basketball. They have shown a pretty stout resolve in all games not Duke so far in the ACC play. They have the talent to beat this team but it will take a total team effort considering the experience they are going up against on the floor. Buzz needs to start TYRONE and make sure he is awake and we aren't seeing Jalen. Our bigs need to be just that in this one, likely needing to score at least half of our points. Allen and others need to find their way to the rim or the line and if we can get even half as improved performance at the free throw line as we got last game, we should come out of Atlanta with a win. Someone will need to deliver a clutch back breaking shot around the 2 minute mark. Tech wins this one 78-71, without the need for making every free throw at the end.

Comments
Scared to death facing Adam Smith given our recent 3 point defense performances. Hopefully getting to the line for 30+ attempts will offset that.
For those in NoVA/DC/MD, Verizon Fios is carrying the game on channel 576 (Comcast SportsNet).
ESPN3 is blacked out...any other live streams online???
http://ifirstrowus.eu/watch/402464/1/watch-virginia-tech-vs--georgia-tec...
Make sure you have an ad blocker.
Got it...thanks!
I'll never understand the blackout decisions - unavailable up here in MA on Sling/WatchESPN as well. I can however watch the Continental Cup of Curling (Mixed Doubles) as the next available menu selection.
Check the post I did on Regional Sports Networks. It will probably identify what channel in your area is covering the game. Most of the networks seem to be Fox affiliated.
What happen with adam smith that Buzz won't talk about? Said was something he had never been involved with ever while coaching.
When did he say this?
Pregame interview with Laser. Asked how he felt about coaching against a player that used to play for tech. Buzz replied, he doesn't talk to the media about it. It was the wildest thing he's even dealt with ever as a coach and nothing against Adam, he had no issue with him. (Along those lines)
He completely tried to avoid talking about Adam Smith at all.
Thanks
Read an article today in the Richmond Times about this. Buzz said something along the lines of that as long as he's been coaching, he hasn't ever been involved with a player transferring to another in conference team and not having to sit out a year. Still didn't disrespect Smith at all. Seemed if he was rankled, it was with the transfer rules more than anything else. Sorry, recycled the paper today already or I'd give detailed info, but it was a feature article in the Sports section.
I gotcha brah.
I have DIRECTV and live in Bristol and I found the game on CSN (channel 642) if that helps anyone.
I'm in Nashville, and this game is blacked out on Directv and WatchESPN. Which is pretty disappointing....
Edit -- nevermind, it was just halftime when I tried to watch on the ESPN app, and they were showing other content. It's on now.
It's been frustrating to watch this year because we've been getting out lunch handed to us by every great team we've played (besides UVA) but I'm been incredibly impressed with how hard the kids are playing and how much Buzz cares. My hope is that the losing doesn't take its toll on the kids and they continue to stay positive and work hard.
We've already matched our win total from last year, hopefully we can continue to make baby steps towards progress.
We aren't that good of a team. Playing above our weight class as it is.
We haven't hit the hard part of our schedule. Amazing how hard our schedule has been and how good our record is.
Whats coming is tough. Hoping we can finish above 500. This team has exceeded expectations as far as I'm concerned.
These guys are young. If they work hard in the offseason and work on relevant stuff we should be able to be more competitive against the ranked teams next year.
But we don't have good guard play yet. Robinson will be a baller but needs to continue developing. Allen and/or Wilson needs to step up... that next guard spot is increasingly not producing... need penetration and running the offense. One of our 6 5 guys needs to become a slasher who can also hit from outside. Bibbs tried to do this at the start... he just isn't close yet. LeDay closer to being a slasher. LeDay may get drafted if he continues developing. Another big or two getting a couple of offensive moves, getting better feet, stronger.
That kind of an off season and we'll be ranked for much of next year. This year its about to get real. Crossing fingers cheering for the guys. This team is gonna be really fun to watch.. not sure it happens this year.
There's a possibility that the scoreboard operator is drunk.
Anyone have a RSN listing for SC? Because the Raycom listing, ABC, is showing infomercials.
It's on Fox Sports south in NC.
Thanks, I finally found it on Fox Sports non HD.
I don't understand the need to attempt the absurd number of difficult passes early in the shot clock that inevitably lead to turnovers
So far it looks like no one got off the bus except LeDay. We are giving weakside help on post-ups for what appears to be no reason and it's leading to a lot of easy buckets on the offensive glass for GT. Atrocious transition defense also.
One positive is Big Satch showing up on both ends of the floor early.
Edit: Well, mostly.
Missed the start, but I looks like we came to play to me. Be nice to get a road win! But nobody is gonna give you one in this league. Goat keep grinding. Be nice to get a few fouls on their big guy.
I don't believe my eyes - Wilson finished at the basket, then a fast break dunk. Maybe the team finally decided to come play?
Edit - I guess not
God we are getting killed on the offensive glass
Our bigs forgot how to box out.
There was at least one time where Blackshear had a guy completely boxed, but the guy still pulled the board down from over KJ's head. He just didn't jump or move outside of blocking him out. The guy scored on the put back immediately after.
Maybe Adam Smith will shoot them out of the game.
Did I see Tyrone there?
I'd be interested to know how many blocked shots they have also. It's gotta be close to 10
They have 7 at the half. We have 1.
Blackshear fouled at least three times going to rim there with no call. Ridiculous. And then they get a three in transition.
If your student section chants "Block that kick" during a basketball game, you probably won't ever be good at basketball.
I'm pretty sure that was "block that sh*t"
How was that not an off ball foul when Blackshear tried going to rim and instead we get jump ball off Hudson after it? BEGINNING TO PISS ME OFF.
Huge basket before halftime. Hope Buzz can rally the troops for the 2nd half. We were starting to show some life from the 8 minute mark on.
With the way the first half looked, I feel pretty good about only being down 10. Hopefully Buzz can get them focused for the 2nd half
The drive and kicks are there for us we just aren't executing it. Instead we keep going up against 2 or 3 big guys and continue to get swatted away. The couple of times we did kick it out, we hit the 3. Jalen and Bibbs.
GT has 7 blocks. VT needs to drive and kick it to the big man covered by White or Lammers (3 blocks each). It will cut down on the blocks in the lane.
Offensive rebounds are killing us. Almost half their points are second chance points so far. That cant continue if we want to win.
Do you think Buzz wants our backside posts coming over to help on post-ups? That's where a lot of their easy baskets are coming from. We go to help and they just throw it up and get the easy put back on the backside.
Edit. It just happened on the first possession of the half.
Thank for the write-up rob. I wouldn't have known it was on without it.
Also, Root sports just became my favorite channel. Carries the Pens, Pirates and now the Hokies
Sloppy first half consisting of some lazy passes getting picked off and also our guards really forcing the issue on drives to the basket. It's been somewhat of a theme all season, especially with Allen, but there were at least 4 possessions in the first half where one of our guards would drive to the basket and throw up a prayer layup in traffic that was promptly rejected (and lead to fastbreak points the other way). If you don't have a step on a defender, don't force the layup. Just keep your dribble alive and circle out. Or if the goal is to draw a foul, JUMP INTO the defender. I swear no one on our team gets this. They're constantly trying to contort themselves away from the defender attempting a low percentage circus shot.
GT is playing pretty physical but if we correct our mistakes, we can get back into this game and pick up a road W.
I don't understand what KJ is supposed to do on defense? He was just manning the guy up and got whistled.
These refs need to reel it in. They just whistled a play dead for no reason. This isn't rec-league basketball. If there's a foul, call it.
That defense! That transition! That and-one!
We got a ballgame!
We are really forcing the issue here in the 2nd half. Almost in the bonus already.
The whistles are getting out of hand
The fouls on Blackshear this half have been ridiculous.
It's a good thing Big Satch has been playing well for us or we would have no post depth right now.
Edit: well nevermind, He has 4 fouls now too. This is bullshit.
Seriously?! What is KJ supposed to do? Apparently you just can't put your body on a guy in the post. I mean, shit. At least they are consistent with it I guess.
Consistent means you call it on both ends which they arent. Otherwise the big goofy white kid on GT woukd have fouled out. I am not sure he has a foul yet but has a ton of "rebounds"
I know it's GT, but do you really expect the ACC to ref a game without favoring the home team?
These refs are terrible. The one ref is still counting seconds when a defender is close to the ball handler. They did away with that five second rule this year.
Really?
I mean really?
We're going to have to get Hamilton some minutes if he's still un-suspended. Our centers are going to run out of fouls to give.
He has had some minutes since the suspension.
I remember seeing him once since then. He's just gone multiple game so far in conference play with 0 minutes.
Another easy put back basket. And our bigs cant seem to learn to stay away from bad fouls- see Pierce
Jacobs just walked before putting in that hook right in front of a ref
Both teams in the bonus with 14+ minutes left? These refs are ruining the flow of the game.
Bullshit. You just can't play post defense in this game. Every single inch of contact is a foul.
Henry had hands straight up there and gets called. No winning with these officials.
Yeah. No foul there. Okay. Worst officials this year.
Reminds me of the crew that did the Wake game last year. Act like they get paid by the foul.
Done complaining about the refs. We just have to play through it and win the game regardless.
LOL jk. This is some bullshit.
Tough to do when its every trip up or back down the court. Feel like we should be getting ref stats briefed in this game. There goes ------ with his seventeenth foul call of the game. Great form but a bit weak on the whistle.
That is just another example of terrible fouls being called this game.
Wow and Blackshear wasn't fouled there?
That's a hook. That guy has done that all game.
I've seen a few fouls called where a guy just gets off balance and falls down on his own.
Hamilton must really be in a doghouse to not see the floor here
Those are easy post points because we can't play defense or we will get whistled for a foul. It's ridiculous.
It's one of those games where Seth Allen is going to hurt us more than help us. Can't believe Robinson isn't playing over him.
I've watched every game this season, and I think Robinson is clearly better than Allen at the 1 spot. I don't understand why everyone (including Buzz) is so high on him.
Allen sloppiness costs us twice there quickly
God bless America Seth Allen. Stop!
Is Allen tired or giving up?
Seth Allen is throwing this game in the garbage.
Lazy basketball - very little chance we can get back in this game now
Edit - unless GT stops paying attention like that
That turnover on the break is going to be a turning point. Chance to make it a one score game and now down by 9.
Seth Allen polarizing.. he is really awful.. only strength is getting to line. Typical game start.. 1 TO and 1 foul 2 mins into the game. Thankfully he is a RS Jr. Hopefully, his p/t will diminish as VT improves.. flat out painful to watch him play.. looks lazy too, almost like he doesnt care on pass attempts
That's if he even tries to pass at all. He's a bigger fan of driving 1v5 and flopping around like a fish looking for a foul.
Enjoy watching the Hokies again and they are building the right way I am convinced of that. Don't get Allen though. I have seen 6-7 games this year and the good does not outweigh the bad IMO.
Forget what I said here
It's just not our day. Every chance we've gotten to make a huge basket and get back in the game, we 1) miss or 2) turn the ball over.
No contact that I could see on Leday
In addition, there should have just been on offensive foul whistled. Their post player just ducked his head and threw a shoulder into KJ. That is the thing officials should be looking for. However, these guys just aren't interested.
We have had the opportunities to make this a one possession game two or three times. We just can't break through. This team will get there eventually.
Every time Allen drives the lane I just cross my fingers and pray.
Pretty sure that's his entire gameplan
well that was one back our way. Allen was blocked cleanly there.
Thought so in real time.
Obvious foul on the slow mo.
As a side note, These scoreboard operators are horrendous.
They seem to have refilled their beverages and continued to party
This team is starting to remind me of the '05-'06 team with young Dowdell, Gordon, and Collins starting to find their rhythm and starting to gel.
Too often we are running the pick and roll to get Leday open outside. Why arent we running that for Bibbs more?
Leday got hacked but you know that's on par with what i expect out of the ACC officals...
Okay. What the hell was that?!! That dude just held LeDay's hand. He couldn't possibly have controlled the rebound with one hand.
What are the officials talking about? He was in his steps when he got fouled. It wasn't even close.
Edit: Apparently they are looking for who the foul was on. Just goes to show that no official is paying any real attention to the game.
NO BASKET???????? HE WAS IN HIS STEPS!!! BULLSHIT
Too often we are running the pick and roll to get Leday open outside. Why arent we running that for Bibbs more? Leday definitely fouled to cause that turnover.
And now they screw us with taking the basket away so we cant tie
He was clearly in his steps.
That was awful mechanics by the officials.
Anytime you have a double whistle (both officials call a foul simultaneously) you both go up with the foul (or open hand for violation) and do NOT make any other calls (block/charge, basket counts, etc) until you discuss it.
Really poor job there.
How can you go back and change it to a foul on the floor?
Did the NCAA take continuation out of the game? So many times this season I've seen it called on the floor when a player was in the process of going for a shot. I don't get it.
No, I'm pretty sure these officials are just mentally ill.
Dammit! Root switched over to the Pitt game. Just one more reason to hate that school
Got to give Allen credit at the line. Only reason we are in the game.
There is no quit in this team. These games may be ugly, but they never stop fighting.
I thought Leday would be a decent 6th man after watching the scrimmage before the season, thought he was solid but played too slow. Still think he plays slow, but hell he gets the job done. Glad to be wrong.
regardless of the outcome, Buzz has these guys playing tough, determined, team bball. buzzketball is fun
Root Sports just turned off the Tech game for the Pitt game, and ESPN3 won't let me stream. If it goes to OT, what should I do?
Pray it doesn't go to OT. Seth at the line with 3.4 and a tie game
Look for one of the streams above in the thread
Wow terrible call goes our way
haha "make up" call?
Someone on the bench must have told Allen about us dumping on him in this thread.
I love this team.
I got mad and left home during halftime to go to the gym and I just got back and saw the 77-75 score. Pleasant surprise. Finish this!
So, Allen can win the game for us here. What a huge change from about 4 minutes ago when he basically gave them a 10 point lead.
ugh. Wish he would have made both there.
Must press after shot
Heart Attack Hokies strike again. GO HOKIES!
Thank you,Jesus!
Boom!!
4-1 y'all!
Hokies are 4-1 in the ACC! GO HOKIES!!!
Never thought we would win that game at the 5 minute mark. Great turnaround and we did it at the free-throw line again.
I find it so ironic that we win close games now that we have a coach that stresses the importance of the little things (such as free throws) instead of losing close games under a coach (Greenberg) whose players were always atrocious from the free throw line (except Delaney). Free throws can be fixed if you want to fix them (unlike shaq) - you have to have the willingness to shoot thousands of repetitive free throws day after day, night after night....and you have to have leadership to stress this importance.
As we all know all close games are primarily won or lost on the free throw line.
I'm glad our tides our changing on the line and its resulting in victories.
Props to Buzz on creating a winning atmosphere and Whit for having a great vision.
Let's keep it up Hokies! Can't wait til Buzz gets basketball on the national scene right up there with Fuente and football.
Bright days ahead for us Hokies!!
Did not deserve that win, but that doesn't matter. 4-1 feels so nice, gotta love the fight in these Hokies.
I soundly disagree. We earned that win.
great team win! wow
2nd in the ACC.*
I'm not sure how but this team just keeps finding ways to win. Just imagine if we were finishing games like we have recently against Alabama State (haha) and Northwestern.
14-4 would be awesome. But honestly, 12-6 has to look pretty damn good for Buzz as he tries to build up this program.
Love the fight in this team!!!! They never give in, play til the last whistle!!
Anyone want to give Seth Allen some credit now?
I already did above when he hit his tenth free throw.
In no way was I referring to you, kind sir.
Allen accounted for 9 of the final 11 points (7 points, 1 great assist to Blackshear). And he also had the basket that was taken away.
Hell yeah overcame the 5 on 8. Not exactly how I pictured it but we definitely limited their put back chances the last ten minutes. Game was decided at the line in the second half. GT missed a ton of second half free throws and Tech shot over 85%. Way to go boys. 4-1 in ACC
Maybe not how you pictured it ( may need to start including a review section on the refs), but you have been dead on in win/loss predictions. Great job helping those without much local coverage get up to speed before the games, and in this case reminding us when it is.
I second
Awesome job by Bibbs to hold his position back to the inside and funnel Hunt to the sideline where the Hokies could trap with thre defenders. Good solid win and hopefully gives this team some more confidence and rewards their fight and determination.
I did not see us win a live (on tv) regular season ACC game in 14 or 15. I have watched 4 this year and have not seen a loss. That is how you build fan support. Win.
I knew there had to a simple explanation. Then KEEP WATCH!
Still need to beat some teams in the top half if we want to get to a tournament.
Can we just end the season now?
Gottfried is going to get canned, dude recruits elite players and cant do crap with them.
They've made the tourney the last 4 years tho. Hard to argue with that.
This is definitely uncharted territory, but I like it!
Fantastic 2nd half! Congrats on a strong victory. Buzz did a great job mixing and match to get the right players in the game. It wad a great tan effort.
Were I a giffer, you'd see a full head shot of George Hamilton right now.
Edit: You know, a wad with a great tan?
How awesome was it to hear a Let's Go, Hokies! chant in that gym?
I only got a couple nasty looks for starting a few of them. Most fans were upset with the officiating though. That's something we could all agree with.
Leg and props to you for that. We were psyched to hear that chant over the TV. You must be so happy to have been there. I am too happy, maybe, about this win, but it was HUGE in the scheme of things so far this season. Normally I imagine I would be griping about the stripes, but ya know, those officials are some of the best around, so maybe the thing is to accept that we will always be subject to their performance and rejoice when we can win despite them. Occasionally, we are the recipients of stripal largesse, but either way, it is the final score that counts.
It was a fun time. Bought tickets through the local Alumni Association's block and took my son to his first Hokies game. The Thursday night game was after his bedtime, so we just got a babysitter for that. It was a fun time and an exciting game. So exciting that he slept through most of the second half and woke up in time to watch us finish our comeback. But with regards to the officiating, I think most were just upset with a lack of consistency. Only a couple calls did people find questionable, but there was a few times, such as the officials stopping us taking the ball down the court to have a talk with the GT players about their behavior and the instance where one official called a foul on the floor, waving off the basket, while the other called it on the shot that got people upset. There were certainly many soft fouls called and then others that, by the precedent they had set, should have also been called, but that's the game. Still a fun time regardless.
More conference wins than fans at loluva's spring game!
More conference winsMore conference road wins. FTFY
Seth Allen and all of VT great job on the line.. let him drive and penetrate.. that is all, I shutter with him and the rock on the perimeter. On road, down by 9 w 5 mins left and win.. awesome!!
All of this w/o their 2 biggest recruits in years.. Ahmed and Chris Clarke.
FWIW, Adam Smith had an abysmal game. 2-13 from the field.
I may be banging the Seth Allen drum a little bit too much today, but I thought he played good defense on him throughout the game.
With 3 air balls, I think. Lol
GOBBLE GOBBLE
Lol @ the Jackets, just like Football
Good road win. The only thing that would make it better is a press release from the ACC announcing that ref crew has been fired
While it was poorly officiated, two of those guys (Bryan Kersey, Jamie Luckie) have been to the Final Four. Just an off night for them I guess.
Late night at The Cheetah perhaps? We've all been there...
The game turned around when Robinson stole that ball under the basket for an easy two. Then, to his credit, Seth got a quick steal and started pouring it in from the FT line. Great defense and FT shooting wins ball games, boys.
I think the team is scheming with my wife to take years off my life with all of these close finishes. But good road win.
Well, you know, the alternative is they lose them all by double digits instead. ;)
Worth that much, are ya?
I would like to think I am worth more alive, but as I get older my accountant is starting to shake his head.
Wait 'til you get to the age where you can successfully throw yourself a surprise party...
With yourself as the only guest?
Naw, you'll always have at least three guests. Me, myself, and...and...and...damn, who was that other guy?
Going over the box score, we were outrebounded, had more turnovers, had our shot blocked more, and they had a better FG percentage YET we still won the game (largely due to 77% FTs). Now THAT is how you grind out a road win. If you want an example of progress in program building, this is it.
Soon frustrating. Had it recorded on fox sports Midwest. Right as VT was fouled and about to tie it up fox interrupted with "due to contractual obligations..." And switched to some other game. So I had to scroll the interewebs to find the final. Frustrating when I see we won by 1.
There's one thing to like about ESPN. They have 18 different channels to start the next game on so they can finish the one in progress.
Just good to see Hokie basketball becoming relevant again. I know we have some more distance to travel but hope is back in the air.
Does anyone know when Ahmed Hill will be coming back? I know he was cleared to practice a couple of weeks ago but I've heard no news since then. Also, has any news concerning Outlaw been released either?
What about Hamilton?!? We need big bodies right now. I thought he was only going to be suspended for a few games and right now it feels like he has missed more than half of what the team has played so far.
He appears to be in Buzz's dog house.
I get a good laugh getting on here after games and reading through folks bashing individual players throughout games, then seeing those same folks changing their tone as they make plays down the stretch. Good win.
Allen is selfi....great player! Leday make you damn free.....dude was consistent from the line. Pierce is a scru.......put in some valuable minutes to help out down the stretch.... Buzz has no idea.....what a great coach he is.
More acc wins than last year already...
I am most pleased
As many as the last two years combined!
Take ACC road wins all day long. 4-1 in conference play.
There is a lot to be excited about regarding VT basketball. The talent on this team is the best in years, the effort, the execution, and the free throw shooting are the best in years as well.
So far we've won the easiest games on our schedule, which is a good start. But the real test starts now. Our next eight games, @ND, UNC, UL, @PITT, @SU, Klempson, @UVA, and @UM will be extremely tough. These are the best 8 teams in the ACC (I know, SU and UVA haven't played that way, but SU is starting to, and UVA is still one of the best teams in the conference), and we could realistically lose all 8 games.
I hope this team continues to prove everybody wrong.
Hey, if you don't win the easier ones, you have no shot so we're working well so far.
