Per an article from 247 its looking like we have our first cancellation this weekend due to weather K'Von Wallace has decided to skip his OV and is not looking to reschedule it.
With this being 2 weeks away from signing day and a lot of the recruits already having the 29th set up for other OV's Fuente and staff have their work cut out for them. Looks like we will get to see how good of a closer we have with Fuente and the rest of the coaching staff.

partially correct. once a student athlete signs their letter of intent they cannot back out of it or talk to other schools/coaches.
With a new staff in place, how big a hit will this be if none of these kids projected to visit don't make it? I mean was this Wallace kid really serious about Tech since he is not going to reschedule his visit? Doesn't sound like it to me?
looks like he has another OV scheduled the 29th and wants to sign on signing day like normal so that would also play into things. However you are correct and he didn't seem too high on VT
What is the advantage to signing that first day? Make sure someone else doesn't get your scholarship?
pretty much.. make sure you're accounted for and have a spot. if you're a 3* and higher and are not signing on signing day they you're at a huge disadvantage.
I've seen kids not sign and think they can wait and wait and then they go to sign and the offer isn't commitable anymore because they have already reached their class limit.
Yeah, but he's from VA so he can mid-week visit if needed.
the kids from Florida are a big concern. We could really use Ross and Wells.
It's a huge hit. It really can't be understated how unfortunate this is. There were multiple key targets who we have/had real chances with but will not be able to get on campus now.
Guitarman said in the other thread where everyone was all giddy about the snow, he doesn't expect any of them will make it now, and I agree.

Try to get them to come next week, or push for a mid week visit. Definitely really hurts us for some of the bigger named recruits like Pridgeon and Character who are unlikely to cancel their other visits.

NO you can't change the weather, but two of the recruits scheduled to be on campus could have made an immediate big impact next season. IT just really sucks, hopefully most will reschedule for mid week or next week
Yeah exactly. Most of these guys were legit possibilities. Some of them were very likely Hokies imo, although I have no idea now.
My wishful thinking side hopes that someone already made up his mind or committed and was waiting to announce during the visit. Outside of that...
Some of the guys I think we can still reel in Pigrome, Wells,, King maybe Powell .... Pridgeon, Character Bailey will be tougher now.

Yep. Heard he was on Maryland's campus Saturday but didn't want to post. He went for the basketball game.
He has had some guys in his ear for a while now that despise VT and have wanted him to transfer for years. I know the family well and I respect the heck out of Ferrell and Cookie. I understand and respect the decision. I'm just irked that the guys who have wanted this to happen long before it even made any sense got what they wanted.
Not to be mean but I've never seen a rb run so tentatively in my entire life. Was very frustrating to watch that's for sure.

To me, he never looked the same after coming back most recently. He looked oddly top heavy and wasn't making sharp cuts on the VT football snapchat during the season. I saw him and his brothers over Christmas Break and he looked in better shape but still don't know what his impact could be for UMd. With no QB, I guess we'll find out
who has been in his ear? friends? relatives? transferring to MD just makes no sense. They have 2 RB coming back who are lined up to be #1 and #2 in 2016
On the thread about this someone pointed out his dad played there and one of his recruiters out of high school is on the new coaching staff. I agree with awesomeness that would have been him and his brother playing LB side by side in Bud's D
Sorry I didn't respond sooner, I haven't been on the past 24 hours or so. The people I was referring to are hometown people from down here. Guys who have always had a thing against VT, and felt Trey wasn't being used enough. Same people tried to get in David Wilson's ear but he wasn't having it. (Dan River HS is on the outskirts of Danville, DW4 played for GW). To be clear, I'm not saying Trey capitulated to them, but I hate that these people feel like they won and influenced him. One of these guys is a "coach" who I have zero respect for and had been harping to Ferrell for years that Trey would be NFL bound anywhere else. As if there was some conspiracy to keep him off the field and had nothing to do with injury.

Yeah, this was never gonna be a good recruiting year for us, and getting bitch-slapped by the weather is just another drop in the bucket at this point. Unfortunate, but it is what it is. Maybe next weekend we'll get a bonus commit or two.

I'm confused, the people you listed above have they rescheduled or are they ones that have not? I really hope we can land both Pridgeon and Powell. They both look like nasty OLmen.
powell got an offer from stanford last night so that throws a huge wrench in things for him. He stated his dreams school is stanford and it would be hard to turn that down since they produce some good o line.
However they're offering him 2 weeks before signing day so he must have been their e offer while VT was interested for a longer time. Typical throw in an offer last minute and hope it works.
They have not. Powell has tentative plans to visit next week but with Stanford offering he gone. Pigrome and Wells are trying to reschedule . Fox and Character were stretches haven't heard anything regarding them. Pidgreon is the big unknown and the biggest immediate impact left on the board
Gotcha, and who is Fox? Is he someone new were recruiting? I don't remember seeing that name at all.

Apparently he is friend's with Belmar and when Gray was checking in with him earlier this week Fox wanted to visit with him. Doesn't sound super serious but it is definitely a high position of need so who knows

Both Rivals and 247 seem to think the battle is between Auburn and South Carolina. He does apparently have a good relationship with TG, but his girlfriend is going to Auburn FWIW. But you always have a chance if you can get him on campus!

Hopefully someone is telling him to go to the school he likes the best and see if the GF and him work out, because picking a school mostly because of the GF that odds are you wont have in a year is a bad choice.
