Definitely being called more like a UNC home game so far but VT needs to hit open shots if they're going to hang with #2. Devin Wilson has been a huge liability offensively and the offense couldn't do anything when he and Robinson were manning the guard positions together.

What even is that charge call on Hudson? There's no way the defender had his position established. Hudson wasn't out of control. Terrible, terrible call.

"Blocking" my hairy, white ass. Sheesh. Still really happy with the way they clawed back from a deficit where many teams would have been happy if the score didn't get any worse. But they fought their way back and made this a game. Still though....those missed free throws. They'll get after ya.

This team is criminally undersized compared to the Heels, but they are battling their asses off and are clearly not intimidated one bit. Keep it going, boys.

defense really clamped down late in the half.....also...it seemed like the tons of offensive rebounds that NC got in the first half had noting to do with our boxing out, etc....just long bounces off the rim that went all the way out to someone who happened to be open 15 ft from the basket....if those bounces start to go our way......and we clamp down at the charity stripe, this could get interesting....

agreed....i'd like to see the intensity we had on defense on EVERY possession in the second half......our guys should realize right now that they CAN win this if they bring it every minute & continue to play hard....

Boys showed a lot of heart once again, UNC is just too freaking loaded. Despite the losses, they are clearly getting better and better and gaining confidence each game.

When I used to have season tickets to ODU it seemed like they lost so many close ones and I remember my dad saying "Eventually they are going to start winning these close ones" and the next few seasons they did. Confidence, Experience, Maturity, and Chemistry all took over. This team is good enough to win and play good teams close. Double digit losses imho are unacceptable at this point. Next year I bet will be huge for us and the next few after. I believe we can finish out this year really good as well!

Helluva game. I was proud of our boys for battling back multiple times. The turnovers, lack of rebounding, and missed free throws are why we lost this game. Upset to see it go that way, but I can say I have faith in what Buzz is doing.

Whit wasn't even there today and has nothing to do with the standby line. That is game ops and ticket office. Also, this only happens for games like today (i.e. Duke or UNC)

This is a team-progress win disguised as a loss. We gave UNC all we could and also their smallest margin of victory all year. It won't be long until the tables are turned boys.

Proud of the way that the team held in there and kept fighting. However, did anyone else see Buzz run out and dunk when the ball was on the other side of the court?

Turned it on at the beginning of the second half and Tech was down by 6. Granted I didn't see the first half, but regardless of losing, it's amazing to watch these guys play compared to last year. Already knocked off one top 5 team and almost had another today.
The next few years are going to be really interesting to watch.

Just left the game. It was a really great atmosphere. Props to everyone who came out. I yelled myself out with about 2 minutes left. I had to pause and just take it all in at one point. I wish we could have that atmosphere all the time. Anyways, was a good game and if we could finish at the rim and at the line consistently we win that game.

Good game for the Hokies. The Hokies were overmatched on the inside, struggled at the line, and couldn't get a board at any critical time. Yet, they showed amazing resiliency, tough D, and enough offensive flash to overcome a 20-pt deficit and even lead for short periods towards the end of the game.
If Buzz can get the players to come out hot (way too many games, VT gets in a big hole), hit more free throws, then this team will be tournament good. If they can get a few big bodies in there that can at least match-up inside, they can be solidly in the top 1/3 of the ACC in upcoming years.
