Thanks HokieFireman. I was looking for a poster to add.
As someone who has lost a child (car accident almost 2 years ago) I really hope this has a happy ending.......everything has changed for me since my loss, and every one of these stories now tears at my heart in a way that's exponential compared to how it was before I lost my son.......even though I'm not a religious guy at all, I PRAY for her safe return to her family........find your way home Nichole
Im sorry for your loss.
I'm sorry for your loss. I know that's unbelievably tough.
Man, buddy, I am so sorry. It breaks my heart to read this. I recently watched a film that might give you hope: Courageous.
I'll be praying for this situation, and kudos to you for sharing your loss with us. I know I speak for the majority here, but when another Hokie hurts, we all hurt. Much love brother.
I know the rules about religion on here and everything, but diddo on the Courageous comment. Really impactful movie despite what IMDB might have to say about it.
thanks guys.....much appreciated
It was good to meet you at the tailgate. Say hello to the family for me.
Done - they said Hi and hope things are well with you....hope we can meet up again at another future tailgate!

This isn't great news.
UPDATE: Eisenhauer is a freshmen member of the Cross Country team at VT. The Corps of Cadets is now assisting local, state and Federal agencies in searching areas around campus.
No, it's not great news. I worry especially because of her need for anti-rejection meds. I hope she is found soon.
this is not good news at all.......please let this have a good outcome.....
I have worked in LE for a number of years now. And I can say that at this point it's going to be a recovery search. And as bad it may seem, I just hope she didn't suffer.
Concur, if you make an arrest like this and the victim hasn't been found the odds are not good.
God I hope the poor girl is OK and this whole thing is just a misunderstanding but it's certainly not looking like right now...
This whole thing makes me sick
I honestly want to throw up
On Facebook her dad said that she was found dead. Terrible news guys...
Fuck
This sums it up the best. Fuck, indeed
It's just not fair when a child dies.
CT new article, few new details but worth sharing. Police have called a press conference at 9:30 PM tonight.

What an unimaginable tragedy for this family. I am at a loss for words.
This is terrible...my heart goes out to the Lovell family. I have been following this story closely since Wednesday, and I just find it inconceivable that anyone could do this to any person. This is heavy...
What on earth could possibly drive one to murder a 13-year old? Even worse, a former athlete who represented Virginia Tech. This guy ruined God knows how many lives, especially his own. Terrible situation. I will definitely be praying for the family.
Let's remember he hasn't been convicted of anything yet, and very few details are publicly available. We should probably reserve judgement until we can render it soundly.
As to the murder charge, it very well may not have been that she was actively killed in any way. She may have died "naturally" as a result of not having her meds, but since the death occurred presumably during the commission of a crime, the charge is murder.
Well, I was totally wrong on the murder charge, and the more details that come out, the less hesitant I am about saying "fuck that guy." Wouldn't be surprised to see the prosecutor push for the death penalty in this one.
Edit: misread the statute. In order for the case to be capital, the prosecutor will have to prove abduction with intent to defile. I don't see that as likely unless we see some really disturbing shit come out, which I really hope is not the case.
As if him kidnapping the girl to murder her isn't screwed up enough...that poor girl her life kind of sounds like a living hell and I feel so bad for her
He's not a former athlete, he is an active member of the cross country team who was on HokieSports as recently as yesterday morning.
Yesterday morning was before any charges were filed. He is now effectively a former athlete; charged with a felony he has been suspended from the team and the university. He's no longer listed online. The university moved as swiftly as they could once the charges were filed.
Charges are now first degree murder.
This is very upsetting news. I do hope that the Virginia Tech community remains supportive of the girl's family and anyone else affected by this tradegy.
Very sad news....our thoughts are with her family......
a second arrest
A 2nd VT student.
If I still lived in Blacksburg I would show up to the CMG Leasing office with a crew of people and have a word with this guy.
What an idiot.
I wonder if he thinks trashing the biggest employer in the region is good business.
Also, he works at CMG Leasing. His job is directly tied to the fact there is a university there.
Blacksburg without VT would be Pulaski. Poverty stricken and drug ridden. Because we need another town like that in SWVA.
Speaking as someone originally from Pulaski County; I agree with you 100%.
I think you mean his former job
If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all...
If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all...
If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all...
This guy. Wow.
This guy is going to get absolutely lit up and he deserves every ounce of flak thrown his way. Give me a freaking break
What a horrible thing to say. If he doesn't realize Virginia Tech is Blacksburg then he's just as ignorant as his comment reflects. I hope someone corrected him on that post.
This is a small sample of what I am currently seeing on Facebook and Twitter over this.
Believe me, our reputation is taking a big hit with this.
It's on the front page of the Wash Post website. The comments section is bringing out the best in people...... We've all been branded psychopathic murderers.
Terrible situation for all involved. Can't begin to imagine what the parents of this girl must be going through.
Yeah...as if Facebook and Twitter are relevant to, or have any bearing upon our school's reputation. They are nothing more than the peanut gallery.
Sucks, but if April 16th didn't stop the upward trend in school rankings, and incoming class size I don't think this will either.
Any one or institution that relies on Facebook or Twitter comments for their reputation has bigger issues than their reputation.
The sad fact is that people and places do rely on them. Look at the hit reputations take because the social media mob jumps on something and starts accusing. Companies have forced people to resign over things that turned out to be fabricated because social media lit them up.
The problem is that the ones starting this are just the peanut gallery that no one gives a shit about. Before you would roll your eyes at them and carry on. Now your friends are re-tweeting them or sharing their craziness and everyone joins in.
As if there isn't a major interstate that runs through SWVA and a host of other means for riffraff to move along through the state without an association to VT. Not to mention the epidemic that is meth and all the issues it brings and this tool thinks VT is the issue. His motto should be:
"I don't always think stupid thoughts but when I do i post them on Facebook." If this guys not associated with the family and lashing out in grief or anger then the depths of his irrationality are astounding.
Let's also remember that grief takes many forms, including anger and lashing out. We don't know his relationship with the family, or what else may have led him to that particular sentiment/comment at this particular time.
Two freshmen from MD who recently got into VT went to Blacksburg and allegedly committed a senseless crime. My thoughts are with the family of the little girl, but VT obviously has nothing to do with the actions of two newly enrolled students from MD. The child family and the blackburg community are as much victims of the alledged actions of the former MD residents who recently go into VT.
This makes me sick :(
Is there any form of a story out there yet, or a timeline?
Both were arraigned this morning and have lawyers.
My God this is so sick. And reading about this poor child who was
bullied for having scars from a life saving transplant at school. I thought
bullying was bad when I was in high school. This is beyond disgusting.
http://www.roanoke.com/news/crime/blacksburg/nicole-lovell-case-virginia...
Well I just lost it in my cube at work, this dam story has brought me to tears. I've been struggling with this story all day and just attempting to fathom the devestation that this disgusting and horrific act has inflicted on her family, friends and the Blacksburg community. RIP Dear Nichole Madison Lovell. We will light some candles by the river for you tonight. Thoughts to Family and Peace to All.
Anyone watching the live stream news conference? I can't at work. Speculation is the girl will be charged with murder. Appreciate any updates! On another note, let's remember those LEO's working this case, including my husband's brothers, which are my brothers. Continued prayers for all who loved Nicole.
Just finished it. She was stabbed. And the woman is now going to be
charged with 1st degree murder.
She has been charged with accessary to murder but I could never get live stream to come up.
Is the guy still getting charged with murder? It's so creepy that something so horrific could happen at the burg...
The male defendant (I'm with Hokie Fireman on this one) is very much so being charged with murder.
A lot of details from the Commonwealths attorney: Nicole was stabbed and killed within 24 hours of going missing, the female defendant (I refuse to use their names) was charged with accessary to murder before the fact, meaning she knew about some crime was going to be committed. Nicole's mom read a statement at the beginning of the press conference.
This whole thing is just really hitting me hard......knowing from experience what this girl's family is going through, and the whole VT connection for me on top of it....i just cant stop thinking about it....just so senseless....so sad.....
So sad its devastating, your not alone Hokie Brother be strong!
Oof... and that one hit me hard. No one should have to go through your pain even once, let alone reliving it through the pain of an neighbor. Stay strong, brother.
As a high schooler here at Blacksburg, the impact has definitely been felt. Here are some of the events that our basketball team and Help Save The Next Girl club are doing to honor Nicole.
Her favorite color was blue, and favorite animal was a panda -- hence the shirt design and push to wear blue to the games.
Very nice gesture....
Well this just got much worse today at the bond hearing. Prosecutors say the murder was planned prior, with both defendants knowing what was going to happen.
So there's your premeditation, we've already established abduction, and I read an article yesterday that said that there were plenty of messages between the dude and Nicole and that she referred to him as her "boyfriend," which might prove enough to take this case capital.
I understand that he is a psychopath pedophile...but what the hell was she doing? That's the part that I can't wrap my head around. Did he manage to find another monster of similar ilk to participate?
Just a very sick situation all around. The only way this makes sense to me is if the girl really liked the guy and that's how he got her involved. Just a terrible to thing to happen.
I considered that too....she seems pretty withdrawn and maybe never received much interest from guys, so maybe she fell under his spell as young girls often do. But killing a child and helping a pedophile is a just a whole other level of evil....and then it was verified when we learned that she had a boyfriend. Two equally abominable creatures found each other.
There really is a very thin line between perfectly normal social behavior, and white knuckle, wide eyed brutality.
The veneer of civility in most societies is about 4 or 5 square meals from an RSVP to the next Donner party.
I just hope we give these two a fitting punishment that will act as a deterrent to the next potential psycho.
Believe it or not, even though most people committing crimes like this are sociopaths, most sociopaths do not commit crimes.
A huge part of that is the result of social mores that make actions like this fall on the wrong side of their cost/benefit analysis.
That's what I found so incredibly beyond fucked up. The young teen had just gotten through CANCER. Fucking sickos.
Those kids are straight evil. Plain and simple. What possessed you to plan to murder a 13 yr old girl? For what reason? You're bored?? Man sometimes I think public executions should be reinstated
Gandhi said "An eye for an eye and the world would be blind"
I say "A death for a death and there's more room for the rest of us"
In all seriousness, though, I don't really know how I feel about the death penalty. What I do know is that these two individuals do not deserve to be members of our society for the rest of their days. Whether their days are purposely cut short or they spend the rest of their miserable lives locked in a box until nature takes over they absolutely should never be reintroduced to the public. Ever. They are sick, evil and twisted individuals. An example needs to be made of them. I think swift and decisive action is critical too. The longer this drags on the less impact the punishment may have on future psychos.
off my soap box now. This whole thing just makes me sick. I will not comment on it again for fear of breaching community guidelines. (I may have scraped the line in this post....if so I'll edit.)
Very well put, and I'd say you stayed in bounds. And that's a fairly typical response following crimes like this that shake a community, and understandably so. But it's also a response steeped in emotion, which has no place in the criminal justice system. Now, I agree that life in prison seems both likely and just, given the facts laid out, but punishments should never be doled out in order to "make an example." One, severity of punishment has less of an impact than most people think, and two, the concept is repugnant to due process. This case will likely be open and shut and out of the news quicker than most, but the defendants do deserve to be tried fairly and in a manner based solely on the facts of the case, and their sentences should not be based on anything other than prudence and jurisprudence.
As bad as the two kids were that committed the murder are, I think at some point you also have to ask where Nichole's parents were throughout this whole ordeal. If she was talking to the guy online, it's her parents responsibility for monitoring the online behavior of their children. Yes, in this day and age it can be difficult, but at some point, there had to be some warning signs, especially if the rumors of Nichole and her murderer being sexually active are true.
I think what the two students did was absolutely horrible, but it does raise some question marks in the fact that she was able to communicate regularly with a male 5 years older than her without her parents getting involved.
kids have been sneaking by/around their parents for a long time and it will happen for a long time after this. the age difference doesn't effect her parents knowing; "girl has secret relationship with a boy" is an idea that has been present for centuries and is made easier with technology.
maybe they don't know what the technology/apps are? it's very easy to believe that parents would trust their children when told what this new/different technology is.
I was flipping through channels the other night and saw her parents speaking. They said that she had not done well socially with her peers and that she had created multiple "personas" on different social media accounts in order to feel accepted. They did not approve of this, but said they did not do enough to prevent it and wished they had done a lot more. Parents should have done more, but that is a tough situation as well. Can't feel anything but terrible for the little girl.
Which girl's parents? The victim's, or the scumbag's?
The Victim's
The other thing I find fucked up is that these two college students had (it seemed) an opportunity to do something REALLY good by reaching out to befriend and be an encouragement to young teen that had to deal with cancer most of her life, then they use the outlet to manipulate, take advantage and commit one of the most demonic acts imaginable. I'm done. Lock 'em up. Let 'em rot.
Absolutely agree.
Another mystery about Keepers....how in the hell did she get into Tech with a 3.29, especially in engineering?
Female out of state full pay engineer. That's admission's perfect storm. Full pay, helps the gender ratio in a exceedingly male heavy department.
Source: Check my bio.
So she received the benefit of being of unusual gender for the field and from being of another state over other students that performed better?....well that sucks. I know this happens in many facets of American life, but it still sucks..
There is alot of assumption throughout this thread. Understandably there is also alot of anger. At this point, until the two accused reach their criminal trials, we may not know the circumstances that led to this event. There is a wide range of possibilities still at this point.
The victim was known to have created several "personas" on the internet, and in several articles was rumored to have been active using "dating apps". The only dating apps I have seen require you to be 18 to use them, so there is the possibility that she presented herself as being 18 online. It wouldnt be the first time this has happened in Blacksburg or anywhere else for that matter.
Assume that the male accused met the victim under this circumstance, interested in a hook up, which has also been indicated as a possibility in several articles covering this case that the two had become sexually active. If he then became aware of her age its not a stretch that he compounded his initial crime by deciding the only way out was a much more devastating crime. (This kind of crime happens all the time unfortunately) Until we are made aware of what forum and what persona the accused was known to have communicated with, we have no idea of his knowledge of 1) her recovery from cancer 2) her real age 3) anything they may have shared. He may have just been a scared teenager that did something he will forever regret. Jails are full of people like that.
To go one step farther into the messed up realm of possibilities that has been sticking with me ever since the introduction of the second accused in this case. The majority of information we have in this case has been made available by the female accused. This could be that they are approaching her as a cooperating witness to the crime and that they are focused on making a more solid case against the male in this case. It just seems odd that she becomes more and more involved in the crime the further we go, with the latest an outburst in court admitting to being part of a planned event. There is the possibility that she was the primary assailant. There are rumors abounding that she also had a romantic interest in the male accused. She finds out that the male accused has entered a sexual relationship with the victim. If that is so, she may have viewed what she did as eliminating a romantic rival. We could eventually find out that the male accuser only came to be involved after the fact. Still going to go away but the one comment we have attributed to him is along the lines of "the truth will set me free". It wont, but if this scenario ends up being the truth, then it throws an entirely different picture on how things may have happened. Her comments about wanting to be involved in something secretive, etc, seem in line with this possibility.
My point with these two scenarios is that until we know at least a modicum of the facts that we assume these two had much more knowledge than they may actually have had. The twisting point is when its all said and done, if it was planned ahead of time like the female accused is now claiming, then they both deserve the worst punishment available. If it was something less than that, their lives are destroyed anyway, no matter what level of guilt they are eventually found to have. Not that any of it really matters, it wont bring the victim back to her family.
My sympathies go out to her family and friends and those of you on here that have suffered similar losses, I cant imagine losing a child. I also want it clear that I am not saying to blame the victim here, even if we find out that she misrepresented herself in any way, because there is no reason that any of that should have led us to where we are right now.
