Here is a link to an article about it. Link I think it is a good idea for those programs to get some exposure and get a chance to do something pretty unique.

I saw that. Might as well play as many games as possible on it while it's a field. I've heard rumors about some high school games being played there as well.

The 100th V-T game takes place the week before our game. I don't see why they couldn't do it there if everything is ready. That would be a treat for those kids.

Yeah, those are the schools that I heard the rumor about. I went to John Battle, but I'd definitely be attending that game if they do end up having it there!

They will now set 2 football records in the span of 2 weeks: 1) Biggest crowd to ever watch a football game. 2) Most empty seats ever at a football game.

The sad thing is the Bristol field will be a huge upgrade from where ETSU is going to play the rest of its home games. This is pretty stupid, but when you consider ETSU's temporary home is a high school stadium this is probably a blessing for them.

ETSU has a partnership with BMS. They often take recruits over there during visits because it is less than 30 minutes from their campus. So they are just taking advantage of that partnership and the fact that there will be a field there for one of their games. Considering ETSU and BMS's relationship, this makes sense. But considering that it's ETSU and Western Carolina without the relationship, it makes no sense at all.

I know the design details matter and it will have a lot of safety margin, but that looks a bit scary - and you can't account for every possibility. What if there is a major front sweep in with straight or circulating fast winds, combined with additional weight from precipitation, etc.? Hopefully all of those types of loads play a part in the design AND implementation.
My concern is for all events where that is present, not just our game.
Can it be lowered easily for safe storing at field level?

Here's a pretty cool perspective of just how massive of a venue this will be for a football game. College football has finally achieved the equivalent of the Final Four being hosted at Dallas Stadium.

They've had discussions, but I'm not sure it will pan out unless each school gets a big check out of it.
Well how much can one of those big foam board checks cost?

The Bucs don't play at the mini dome anymore?
I really wonder if this will be present. Giant video board? Sign me up.

Yes, it's been huge (pun intended) news for a few months.
I just saw it. I spend too much time on my gif library. =(
It will be up for the spring race. They've got 2 1/2 of the 4 huge towers up right now.

I would imagine with the amount of money being spent on this event, the factor of safety in the design will be fairly large.
The boards will be right as rain. VT engineers are on it!
My brother works at ETSU. He says there won't be enough people there to pay the electric bill. Lol

I believe credit goes to @Hokie20 here. That graphic was created a couple years ago.
Thanks for the history on the image and good work @Hokie20.
