Virginia Tech recruiting Pine as a tight end?

While Pine is a gifted athlete, this is the first I am hearing he is being recruited as a tight end and that he would rather play tight end.

TEU?

Never Forget #1 Overall Seed UVA 54, #64 UMBC 74

Neat idea. As far as Ok Google says, there are a few teams that claim TEU:

Miami:

ND:

Washington:

Although the ESPN link lists the following:
Miami
Iowa
Mizzou
Wiscy
UGA
BYU
LOLUVA
Stanford
Colorado
UCLA

With ND as an also-ran. It's a tough choice for sure. Had Logan taken his 'high school position' (snicker) I think we'd be Golden. But with the future of the TE position in our offense, I think we have a chance...

Yeah but with a resume that includes guys like Logan Thomas, Duane Brown, and Chris Drager, you can't go wrong

Would Love to see this kid come hear.
He played at my rival high school and would be great to see another guy from Williamsburg join Parker Osterloh and Dalton Roe on the Roster.

Come to VT as a TE you can play any position you want.

Wait, other schools don't use TE to stand for "The Everything?"

"Exit light..."

"Pittsburgh recruited me at linebacker, Iowa State is recruiting me to play wildcat and Virginia Tech wants me at tight end," Pine said.

Long considered by many as a linebacker recruit, Pine says he leans toward playing tight end in college. That doesn't mean Virginia Tech is necessarily the cap he'll put on his head.

Pine said Pittsburgh has indicated he'll get a shot at tight end, and in the wildcat at Iowa State he said he'll be kind of an H-back (lining up at tight end and in the backfield), taking the occasional snap. So, how will Pine decide?

"I'm hoping that I have a dream about it (Tuesday night) and I wake up and just know," he said Tuesday afternoon.

It would seem as if he is still undecided, which is a good thing, but my hunch says he sticks with Pitt unless Tech was really able to sell him on playing tight end.

So we had to sell him really hard to play the position that he claims he wants to play in college? That seems like a load of Pitt.

But yeah, I agree. My gut tells me he will ultimately stick with Pitt.

IIIIIIIIIIIIIINTERESTING.

Especially because even though we desperately need him on D, we don't have a TE in this class.

Unless you count every player over 6', 210.

the numbers don’t lie and they spell disaster

After losing Haskins to the U, VT needs a TE in this class. Let's hope Pine dream about playing big time football at Lane stadium on Tuesday night before singing day.

We have a football game on Tuesday night before NSD?

The Signature is strong with This One. Hahahaaa

What day do we sing? I hope we're singing We are the Champions.

If I wanted to play TE, I would choose Fuente's offense over Pitts.

If I wanted to play TE any football position ever, I would choose Fuente's offense over Pitts.

FTFY.
