Eron Carter took an official visit to Virginia Tech on January 30. [@CarterE33]
Virginia Tech added a national signing day commitment from 6-2, 230 pound LB Eron Carter. The four-year starter at Palatka HS in Florida is rated as a 2-star prospect by the 247Sports Composite. He signed with the Hokies over offers from Massachusetts, Air Force, Tulane, and UCF among other Group of Five schools.
Carter notched 163 tackles (93 unassisted) and forced 3 fumbles over 9 games in 2015. He was named the 2015 Putnam All-County MVP and Second Team 5A All-State.

2-star defensive player from Florida signed as an afterthought. I'm calling him Maddy v2.0
Don't think he was an after thought, I think he is under the radar.
as an afterthought to those outside of our program.
This seems appropriate
I don't know if Eron has the speed but watching his film he shows great vision and patience to attack the gap. Being extremely intelligent and having good size don't hurt either
6'2", 230 lb. Finally, I hope he grows into Vince Hall 2.0.
Vince Hall topped out at 6 feet
Did we offer Moms?
I was about to say, 'Eron' looks nice, but did we offer the dude as well?
Aww come on. There were two people in jerseys and word play is always fun. By "looks nice" I don't think I meant what you think I meant.
(Edit: this post was response to the '-1' that used to be there, not to the fact that no one laughed)
Well, if there's a pretty woman in a picture, I guarantee I'm going to notice her, and so to you I bequeath a couple of legs, regardless of what you were thinking.
'Eron's football stats are impressive, but did we offer her friend who is two feet taller?'
Do over gets you another leg from me. If at first...
Love his bio. Track, wrestling, football. Seems to excel at all 3.
Wrestling is a big one! The balance it takes works well for football players!
Wrestling=tough as shit.
FUCK + YES

We got him and we didn't have to offer his brother Nick! Woo!
He looks the part.
Maybe a Cam Chancellor type of diamond in the rough?
or the E.L. Smiling type.
Go away
Not the fastest guy, but he gets to the hole, hits the runner, and the runner goes backwards. I'll take that in a Mike.
sorry....
Yes he brings the wood.
Is it just me. The first time I watched it, the first thing that popped out was, I thought he could benefit from tackling drills...
I came back about an hour later and didnt really notice it the second time, but there were still some occasions where it looks like he has trouble bringing guys down. Any one else with a real understanding of technique notice that?
Pros: Fills gaps nicely, meets runners in the hole, pretty good play recognition, does a good job of not letting blockers get into his chest
Cons: Not great lateral speed/quickness, doesn't always bring feet immediately when tackling (tough thing to do)
For a slight comparison, Motuapuaka has pretty good lateral speed but doesn't have great tackling technique. Instead of driving his feet, Moto has a tendency to stop his feet and rely on trying to "rodeo" or "olay" the guy to the side.
Note: This is based off a very quick film review.
On a VERY brief look at his film, that's what I see too. More instinctual than AM & a little less athletic (in some ways), but with some similar technique issues. But that's as a HS player...
160 tackles in 9 games. Sounds like a playmaker on that alone.
18 tackles a game ain't bad
Per Bud- "He's the sleeper of our class"
I'll take Bud's word over a star rating any day.
I think we need to up our marketing focus on having players named like Eron Carter and Kalvin Cline. The puns write themselves.
Is Cline still here?
And......3.8 GPA and 1470 SAT.
Impressive addition to the Hokie Nation.
Eron Carter is officially better than me in every way.
Awesome get for us.
