Jacob Park, former 4 star QB, lists "Virginia Tech" as his school on his FB profile and made the comment above on the latest Virginia Tech Athletics post about Fuente's arrival to Tech.
Any truth to this? And if so, what does it mean? Played JUCO last year and had an offer from Alabama.

I mean Loeffler was the big reason he was going to come, doesn't seem likely but I would definitely take him.

That's what I thought. What's gonna happen with Lawson? That's my biggest concern with Fuente coming in. Does Lawson fit his offense? Is Lefty gone? And if so, does that mean Josh Jackson is too?
So many questions.

Seems shortsighted to leave immediately. Lawson could set the world on fire next year here. I would think these kids should enjoy the level of competition to get into that starting role. But I could also understand if he were to leave.
I saw a tweet earlier from Lawson to a 2016 Maryland WR commit about how we have Justin Fuente now and it wasn't too late for him to come to VT, so I doubt Lawson is going anywhere. Also seeing what Fuente has done with two QBs in Andy Dalton and Paxton Lynch I don't see why Lawson would even think about leaving honestly.
If Park comes and wins the starting job why would he stay? He would be in the exact situation as Miami, which is the reason he came here in the first place
Lawson has a legitimate opportunity to win the starting job for next year. He would be throwing away a pretty big opportunity to leave before he even has the opportunity to compete for the job.
Yea I'm not saying he would transfer immediately, but if he loses the starting role to anyone other than Motley why would he stay
I could understand him wanting to leave at that point. It's going to be hard to speculate who will be at the QB1 spot right now. Fuente will find his guy and develop him to where he wants him to be to best succeed in his offense.

Not sure he can win the starting job. Remember he left UGA because he wasn't going to get the start over Lambert.
I remember when Park was high on VT and we had the QB battle between him, Cornwell, and we ended up with Ford.
Ironic that I haven't seen any of those guys starting anywhere.
And Lambert left UVA because... never mind, the analogy breaks down there. He left because it was LOLUVA. Whoops!
That is a big assumption with that many guys competing, but I don't know anything about Park honestly and I didn't realize you were making the assumption that he would win the starting job. I thought you were saying Lawson would leave now. Honestly though if every QB thought like that nobody would have a backup QB. I also read that in Fuente's first year at Memphis he started one guy and redshirted Lynch, but started Lynch the next year over the other guy. Just because one guy starts one year doesn't mean he is automatic to start the next.
Yeah Lawson is trying to recruits WRs to tech, I dont know for sure but he seems pretty pumped for fuente

Crazy. My wife and I were just talking about him at dinner tonight.
I saw him and Mason Rudolph play as seniors at the SC/NC shrine bowl. (Rudolph was clearly ready for the next level, Park tended to pull and run frequently.)

Yeah Fuente had to go after a bunch of JUCO players at Memphis especially his first year, there's an interview somewhere in one of these threads where he said his first year they only had 3 cornerbacks on roster.

I think we need to go with Lawson, the other kid had a chance and didn't pick VT, too late now he can ride the bench for us, Lawson committed and to me seems like the better choice.
I think we are going to be in a good situation QB wise next year with all the guys that will be here. I'll trust Coach Fuente to make the call on who the better choice is. His track record speaks for itself.
In my comment I said "to me" he seems like the better choice, other fans, the coach...etc can have their own opinion I was just stating mine.

Indeed. I will predict that he will want to mold a QB for a few years as well, which is purely a guess on my part. My guess is that he will put his eggs in the Lawson basket but it'll probably come down to Lawson and Jackson in camp, with Motley being back up. If Park is in the mix, we may have an embarrassment of options there.
Not if he isn't the best QB on the roster.
I'm so confused by Park's facebook page. Definitely seems like he visited on 10/28 and the comments suggest he found his new home. In his about section, it says he studied at VT, yet is the QB for UGA. So lost...

Yeah, this is fake. He's not even at UGA. He transferred to Navarro College last summer when Grayson Lambert beat him out for the starting job.

His status says "transferring from UGA." He's not at UGA. Something just does not seem consistent. He also seems to have stopped using Twitter nearly 2 years ago. Odd that he'd run a FB page that has mismatched information.

Its just been debunked as false by the 247 guys. They spoke to Park's Father.
Also, he never transferred to that JUCO mentioned earlier in this thread. The AD at Navarro said that Park never showed up and he has no idea where he is.

That same thread mentions that he will be enrolling at VT in January. It seems possible that Park is coming to Tech

It will be nice if the new coach actually takes JUCO transfers since the exiting regime seemed so against them, there are definitely some good gets out there if you do the research.
It's not just a coaches decision. The ACC and VT have rules that have to be followed.
I'm not dead set against it, but as a general rule, you're bringing in a new guy for two years instead of 4-5. I'd *prefer* to take true freshmen and develop them in-house, so they're fully immersed in the system and develop chemistry with the team.
Some guys are definitely worth it. But that's more scouting, more recruiting, and overall just more hours in the day for the coaching staff.
I know it's probably not possible, but I wish we could get a JUCO guy by the name of CJ Reavis.
Hope they extend Fuente's contract. The Park/Harris connection in 2021 is going to be sweet.

Would love to have him, but this saga has been fairly strange.
Just saw on 247 that he is going to Iowa State. I'm sure he will get plenty of playing time. Though the Cyclones aren't a top team, lots of potential exposure for him to get to the next level.
