Perpetual dark horse Heisman candidate, Taysom Hill, is pursuing a medical hardship waiver and will remain at BYU.

There were multiple reports that former BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall was actively recruiting Hill to follow him to UVA where he could play immediately as a graduate transfer. Others speculated that Hill could depart to Ann Arbor, Michigan to play for the coach who signed him out of high school in Jim Harbaugh.
IMO, Hill is a fantastic QB who just hasn't been able to stay healthy. I'm glad we don't have to worry about UVA having a QB of his caliber. However, UVA's Streaking The Lawn blog states that it's possible that stability for Matt Johns is a positive thing for UVA
One could view this as a blessing in disguise for the Cavaliers. Although Hill's ability is indisputable, one of the strongest legacies of the Mike London era was instability at quarterback. With Johns now firmly cemented as QB1, another quarterback controversy has been avoided.
I guess we'll see how Matt Johns responds with no QB controversy, but I'm glad Hill is staying put in Provo.

This is good. The few times I watched Hill play, I was incredibly impressed. He is an insane player.
Is Bronco planning on just dumping Matt Johns? I can't blame him but that sucks for Johns.
If Hill is better than Johns, he's not better by much. STL is probably right, it's better for them to have the same QB for two years in a row (the novelty!) than to upgrade slightly to Hill for one year.
Johns has good skills, I like his mobility a lot. Considering his coaching last year, or lack thereof, I would not be surprised at all to see him improve dramatically under Bronco in his last year.
I think Matt Johns will be a much improved QB. A lot of Kirk Cousin's success this season was attributed to the lack of QB controversy and not having to look over his shoulder. That, plus all the first team reps.
That being said....I hope we take him to sack city
There's a shot right in the "Broncos" (pun intended).

Yeah- this... I'm calling him Biff, and his comment in the past that he wants his teams to play 'on the edge of the rules' is going to make things real interesting. If his teams play like BYU, LOLUVA will be far and away the most despised team in the ACC, as if anyone needed more reasons.
He probably likes going to bowl games too much to transfer to UVA.
...and playing home games with actual fans.
