The Hokies defeated Boston College 71-56 in Chestnut Hill on Tuesday. Virginia Tech snapped a 5-game road skid against the Eagles, as such there is GIFTORY.

nice video on the brick'd threes. BC got a disturbing number of boards on missed threes in the first half though.
Yeah you hate to see that happen but a lot of those were long rebounds that we couldn't really help, even when we did box out near the basket.
I tried counting them, BC had somewhere between 9-12 rebounds on those 23 misses, not great Bob!
yeah I didn't count them but I just noticed, particularly in the first half, that they got a lot more than I think they should have. Without counting I'm going to wager that a majority of those 9-12 you counted were in the first half. So maybe Buzz said something to the guys or made some adjustment at half about rebounding missed 3s? Doesn't really matter. They missed a ton of 3s and we won the game. I'm happy.

Half of those 3's should have never been attempted. If you can't hit a 3 from the line 5' back isn't going to make it more likely.
Also plenty of 3's attempted in the first 10 seconds of the shot clock. The losing, the bombing from three, and that unnecessary behind the back pass, has Jim Christian already lost this team? Are they even listening to him? Is he doing any coaching?

I think Clarkes hustle on that play shows how bright next year will be when these young guys get to all play together and got another year under their belt.
Can we get a highlight of the terrible terrible joke/references from the one announcer? His Christmas tree reference for the BC player with the name Garland was good, but the Passion of the Christ(ian) reference at halftime was so bad, I was embarrassed for listening to it. Did anyone else catch any others?
That Garland comment sounded rehearsed and he was just hoping the kid would make a big play so he could pull that card out of the deck. I rolled my eyes at all of those corny lines.
Great videos but I have to admit, I would not pick a guy from BC to play in a pick up game on a Saturday morning.
I don't know, I think I could do some damage at the Y with that kid that threw down the missed 3 pointer.
Watching Boston College in these clips reminds me of the basketball team in The Absent-minded Professor. Maybe they just needed a little flubber...
