2016 WR Phillip Patterson Talks About Signing with the Hokies

Recruit757 shared a brief interview with Hokies' signee Phillip Patterson. The Bayside WR product discussed his decision to commit to Virginia Tech, and his fit in Justin Fuente's offense.

"I want (go ahead and) get there. I want to start early. I don't want to redshirt," he said. "I've been told I'll be playing outside as an X receiver."

Very respectful young man! Welcome aboard and let's go Hokies!

Keep calm, Gobble on

That bowtie...

I really respect the "yes sir" "no sir", kid was raised right

VT '17

Reminds me of a well spoken young receiver who was enthusiastic about coming to VT and starting right away. Ford-ish.

And thats right, Phillip. Many of the Bayside players went to UVA, but you come on over to VT and win some games.

The Dude Abides

This is great! I never understood Bayside HS parents' apprehension towards having their kid atheletes sign with VT. I mean why would one pick Jefferson State University (LOLUVA) over VPI?

Let's Go

HOKIES

EDIT: I've decided to remove my comment in order to avoid opening a can of worms

Normally I'd mock the bowtie as a sure sign of UVA-dom, but it looks mighty fresh in maroon.

He manages to pull it off.

its all about the neck. If you have skinny longer neck, you can pull it off. If you have a wide or no neck, it looks like the bowtie is trying to fly away.

Bowties are a great accessory. I have six or eight hanging in my closet, right beside my regular neckties. But unlike the Wa-fools, I understand that you can't use them interchangeably.

I'm sure you also understand the appropriate times to wear one. Like not at a football game.

"Tyrod did it, Mikey!"

Only if in Maroon and Orange. They would however, still be appropriate for many other coed type activities outside of football.

Sometimes we live no particular way but our own

I just don't get semi-formal for football. I don't even agree that it's a "Southern" thing. It's a pretentious douchebag thing.
