UVA football player to auction off shoes from Combine for slain officer.

As much as I despise LOLUVA this guy has earned my respect and admiration.

This happened in my home county. For those who don't know, Officer Guindon had been sworn in the previous day and was on her first day of field duty when she was killed. Her training officer and a third officer were also shot but are expected to survive. The low-life that killed her is also charged with the murder of his wife, while his 11-year-old son was in the home.

Wonderful gesture by Maurice during such a tragic situation.

"Exit light..."

A terribly sad situation.

This kind of crap just pisses me off. Guy kills his wife, knows the cops have been called and waits to ambush them when they show up. Lowlife is too good a word for this waste of genetic material.

Exactly. Really sick fuck.

Yes it is. Good for this young man. He is representing UVa well.

Classy move Mr. Canady!

It's always heartwarming to see young individuals make gestures such as this. It's especially nice to see it coming from an aspiring professional athlete in a sport which has been riddled with controversy stemming from questionable character traits.

These types of things give me hope for our future.

Onward and upward

As an aside, ELEVEN officers have been shot and killed so far this year. This is a 1100% jumpy compared to last year when no officers hade been shot and killed until mid March.

Wet stuff on the red stuff.

Hard to say about a Hoo but classy move kid, do good things!

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
“I served in the United States Navy"

He's auctioning off his shoes? I didn't even know that was a thing. We also could just donate money directly.

Every positive action counts for something, so "nice job".

As the wife to a VSP Trooper, very classy indeed! My thoughts are constantly with the ever thinning thin blue line.

All Maroon, all the time!
