DeAngelo Hall's Subtle Reminder to Torrian Gray Regarding DBU

Former Hokies' corner DeAngelo Hall took a moment from his day to remind former Virginia Tech and now Florida DBs coach Torrian Gray which school was actually DBU.

To Hall's point, I ask TKP, who is you all-time Virginia Tech secondary (boundary corner, field corner, rover and free safety)?

Flowers, Hall, Loria, and Jarrett.

I'll even take a Midget over Florida DBs. If you don't believe ask the U what Midget did to them.

Allen Ox

Midget is a Florida native, oddly enough

Hall, flowers, BamBam chancellor, (Kyle fuller or jimmy Williams or Macho Harris or Keyshawn Jarrett or jayron Hosley or Cody Grimm ( we will say he played as a rolled up safety) when he wore the orange and maroon).. I'm with dhall.. I'll take our four any day of the week! Don't get it twisted torian.. We are THE DBU

Flowers to the field, Hall to the boundary, Kyle Fuller on the slot, Chancellor at rover, Vincent Fuller at free safety

Note the RT & favorite count as of 13:50 3/20 strongly favors D-hall's tweet.

Why is Gray calling UF DBU?

He said, "I'm taking my # and going home."

Considering Torrian played DB at DBU, he's only slighting himself honestly

Well, he's slighting himself AND VT.

He doesn't get to take DBU with him.

I don't blame Torian. He just wanted to keep wearing the T-Shirt.

Those colors tell the truth, even if he doesn't.

Should just send this picture to any DB we're competing with him for. If he's smart enough to understand, he'll choose us. If he's not, UF can have him.

Whitaker? Da fuq? I believe Ronyell could be encapsulated best by a draft preview about him where they basically said "If Whitaker was as good as he thinks he is, he'd be gone in the first round. We're thinking...later"

But yeah, it's hard to choose. Which player to go with Vincent, Kyle and Kendall? I'm leaning Flowers.

You know... Whitaker got a ton of recognition and accolades and press while he played for us.

Don't get me wrong... I appreciate his Hokie service, but watching him on the field I thought the majority of it (EDIT: his accolade, not his service) was undeserved.

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

We don't love dem Hoos.

Fuller (you pick which Fuller)

And this is my new favorite thing ever.

He's seriously trying to take DBU with him?

Sometimes it's just best to not speak your mind on a situation. DBU isn't a Torrian Grey trademark. GTFO with that.

He can go. DBU needs to stay.

My favorites.

1st string:
Flowers CB
Hall CB
Ky. Fuller NB
Chancellor S
Williams S (he ended up an All-American CB, but I liked him better at S)

2nd string:
Harris CB
Hosley CB
Ke. Fuller NB
V. Fuller S
Pile S

Honorable mention:
Carmichael CB
Green CB
Rouse S
Crawford S
Whitley S

I think Cam is getting a lot of love for his professional career rather being judged on his time at VT. Based ONLY on his time at VT, I'd put him on second, maybe even third string for safety.

People also seem to be placing him at rover in their top 4, when he was a free safety in college.

He was a rover first in college and did better there

Actually he was a quarterback first.

... and then a CB before playing either S position.

Cam made a sacrifice for the team in college by playing free safety. That's arguably the most important position on the field for our defense and he was our best option at the time. So he was a good free instead of a great rover because it was what the team needed.

I took into account that for the majority of his career Kam was a SS playing FS.

Fair enough. His NFL career has certainly solidified my opinion about which position he's best suited for.

Your favorites are mine as well. Your first string couldn't be better, although Jimmy Williams, I thought, was brilliant at CB. But having all five of those guys on the field at the same time would have been absurd.

Williams, especially in 2004, was awesome. The interception he made vs. Auburn in the Sugar Bowl was one of the best plays I have ever seen live.

You can't take the DBU tag with you. You can have it back when you return.

Flowers and Hall at corner
Keion Carpenter at free safety
Aaron Rouse at rover

THANK YOU!!! I was waiting for somebody to mention Keion Carpenter and Pierson Prioleau.

You're welcome

Keion gives you the added bonus of blocked punts. And 100 yard INT returns for touchdowns vs. Miami.

I was going to put Rouse, but then I remembered how disappointing his senior year was.

I tried last night and this morning to come up with a starting 4, and I absolutely could not do it. Too many variables such as the type of coverage we would be primarily running/players meshing/style of play, plus some of the personnel decisions themselves once I had decided on the rest were still difficult. That said, there is one constant, Brandon Flowers is my boundary corner.

"You know, this hit looked a lot more painful than it really was. He just got under his shoulder pads a little bit. It didn't jar the receiver too much. But I know at home, it looks like a big time hit," says the guy in the shirt and tie 50 yards away in a booth.

Also, favorite jersey combo ever. I want it back.

Brought a Clemson fan and an A&M fan with me to this game. They couldn't believe how loud it was for an opponent like Kent State, or how loud it stayed throughout the game.

And yes that commentating is ass.

on point.

I love this play. As you said, the commentary is just icing. Yeah, the guy gets decleated and planted on his back, but please, keep telling us why this wasn't actually that good of a play.

He'd probably be ejected and have to sit out the 1st half of the next game for launching in 2015. Despite not jarring the receiver too much

I'll always reminisce about those uniforms, no matter how hard the hit was.

I still like the combos from 2003, despite how crappy that season was.

Was anyone else confused to the point of being disoriented by the title having "DEANGELO HALL" and "SUBTLE" as the 1st 3 words? I had to click on it without reading the rest just to see if I'd entered an alternate dimension.
