SI Article: Fuller House - Great read on our boys

No not the 90's show

Particularly interesting was this quote on Kendall:

With a higher profile came bigger suitors, such that Nina was able to ask Clemson coach Dabo Swinney: "What can you do for my son that [Tech coach] Frank Beamer can't?" Kendall says he eventually called a Tigers assistant to commit but he got a bad feeling and hung up as he was dialing.

Around the time the couple relocated from Baltimore to Woodlawn in 1992, Vincent II, a son from Vincent's first marriage, moved in full-time.

This was something new I didn't know.

Yeah I had no idea he was a half brother either.

Neat! Thanks for the link

Mr. J's breakfast bagels are over rated, but some of their bagel sandwiches are really good. I wish that family all the best.

This was an amaze balls article. When reading about the philosophy of AAA (of which it pisses me off that the article made absolutely ZERO mention of Dean Gray and DBU), makes me feel like I've just been inside the mind of a freakin genius.

yeah, it was a great article. Doesn't really mention or highlight how awesome VT is though.

It's about time for Vinny to get working on the 5th Fuller!

Gray never coached Vinny... And the Dean of DBU is and always will be Bud Foster. Gray was a product of his design.

Didn't say Gray was the ONLY Dean of DBU. But he did coach Kyle and Ken. The dean that preceded him was Lorenzo Ward (Vinny's coach). Foster may be the DC but he ain't the dean of DBU.

The Fuller brothers were all raised in the same modest stone-and-aluminum-siding house around the corner from Woodlawn High (a school that figured prominently in the true crime podcast Serial; Vincent II was one year behind Adnan Syed)

I am amazed by this for some reason

They were probably on the same football and track team...

Outside it's night time, but inside it's LeDay

I would very much like if he fell to #30 in the draft this year.

So for anyone interested, I usually do a big board. I'm not an expert and have neither the time nor the inclination to watch film/combine/pro day stuff for every player so I rely a lot on the positional rankings (not mock drafts) from various websites. I usually take a weighted average of all of the free sources I can find (weighted based on their accuracy in the past drafts I've done this for). I'm still adding sources and putting final touches but so far Kendall is the 38th player on the board, averaging an overall ranking of 36.8. His numbers are all over the place, someone has him as low as 61 (boooo) but others have him as high as 13. FWIW, the guys who have him at 13 have been more accurate in the past than the guys selling him short.

Like I said, I'm just an amateur compiling a bunch of other people's work BUT this method has been extremely accurate in the first round and pretty good through rounds 2 and 3. After that it's hit or miss.

TL;DR: I'd expect him to go late first round/early second. There's gonna be a run on corners around that time and a talent like Kendall won't fall any further than that.

I don't think Gettleman will take him at 30, though I wish he would. The only way I see him being a Panther is if we trade down and pick up a high 2nd rounder and a 6th rounder we gave up for Allen.

If they don't get Fuller this year, I'd love to see them pick up Sam or Bucky next draft.

Yes,that's the Hokie Bird riding a camel. Why'd you ask?

The way Norman is holding out right now, I'd draft Fuller and not think twice if he's sitting there at 30, unless there's an absolute no brainer that fell. You do that and the defense is probably set for the long haul and you could then focus all energy on rounding out the offense, which only has small holes in specific places. But seriously, you draft Kendall and the secondary goes from a arguable weakness to a big strength with the addition of Fuller and Boykin.

I certainly hope he gets drafted in the 1st round. But if not, please fall to 38th so the Jags can further improve that awful defense!

This seems like a fitting place to share this. Kyle sang Take Me Out To the Ballgame at Wrigley last night which has to be a cool experience.

It was definitely hard to get to the end of that one, though I wouldn't hold my breath for an LP release from "The Fuller Four" without the heavy use of Auto-Tune.

Gah dang, wtf was that shit I just watched (much less listened to)!?

I don't like the thought, but if he gets drafted by the Bengals the Fullers will have a Lion, a Tiger, and a Bear. Oh my!

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

I think it'd be great to see him go to the Bears in the early 2nd. Would be cool to see him and Kyle on the field together again
