Tyrod Taylor with potential trade to Broncos

http://www.netonesports.com/2016/04/13/bills-broncos-browns-brokering-bl...

its the offseason so we all play the rumor mill, but our boy might be going to the Denver Broncos in a WILD trade. Our main man would be on a super bowl contender and the Broncos would get a great QB out of all of this. Lets hope this gets pulled off

I'm not disappointed by any means, however

I want to not believe it simply because the browns are involved and the trade makes sense for all teams...that in itself is enough to make me question haha

Go Hokies

Bills fan here. Can confirm.

Although for the record no Bills insiders seem to be giving this any real thought. Seems like a big smokescreen. Buffalo has been very public in courting draftable QBs and everyone seems to think its to trade down since the jets pick behind them and currently have Geno Smith at the top of their roster. Anyone who wants a QB after the NYJ will have to move up.

That would be a great deal for the Browns. But a pretty horrible one for the Bills. Get rid of a probowl QB for an rookie? Sorry to hear that he is disgruntled, but that is something that the Bills management can work out. Lots of time before the new season begins.

He has a right to be disgruntled. He'll be the lowest paid starting QB, way behind guys who have done less, or were significantly outperformed by him. Brock Osweiler, who was mediocre last year with an amazing defense, gets a huge contract while Taylor gets paid scraps for a pro bowl season.

As much as I love Tyrod, he only went to the pro bowl because so many above him chose not to play.....

That's the case most seasons. Still received a lot of votes, had pro-bowl worthy numbers.

still a lot of people that were not given the choice to go to the pro bowl so while it doesn't mean quite as much he should at least be getting paid more than the guys that were not invited or asked to be a pro bowler. right????

For the record its his agent who has acted disgruntled, Tyrod hasn't said anything. This is all business. Tyrod's agent is right to try to parlay last season into much bigger $$ and Bills brass is right to keep him on the cheap for one more year. It gives them another full season of evaluation before spending big money on a QB and helps their tight cap situation. The NFL isn't about being fair.

Yep, this is exactly what agents do. For Orioles fans, this should sound familiar (completely paraphrased and subjected to my own interpretation):

Chris Davis: I love Baltimore and I hope we can work something out.
Scott Boras: This is all bullsh!t and this reprehensible treatment of my client will not stand. We're gonna walk without a whole lot more money.

For the record, Boras won and Davis got a huge contract.

"Exit light..."

But probably not as much as he hoped...

The NFL isn't about being fair.

You're absolutely right, and the players are rarely on the better side of this. It's why you didn't see anyone who knew anything about how NFL contracts work bash Kam for holding out. They have limited security, limited guarantees, and even that guaranteed money usually has enough stipulations to get the organizations off the hook in certain situations.

I don't blame the Bills here. Look, I'm a Hokie fan first but my Niners gave Kaepernick a pretty big contract after his breakout year in SF and are now stuck with a player that is arguably overpaid for a season that he went bonkers because there wasn't a significant amount of game film on him and what his weaknesses are. Kaep like Vick had/has a favortie side he like to roll out to and teams got hip to roll coverage to that side.

Do I think Tyrod is a NFL starter...yes. Do I think he is a perennial pro bowler? Jury is still out. The Patriots made him look silly last year and I think a lot of teams are going to disect that film this offseason on how to stop or at least disrupt him. That was an abysmal game for him.

I also saw him single-handedly beat the Titans here in Nashville last season too.

I'd want to see one more year of what he could do as well if I was the GM before giving him the huge contract I'm sure his agent is pushing for.

The Patriots made him look silly last year

Actually, in the first game, he made the Pats D look silly as he almost led the Bills to a come from behind win, and as for the 2nd meet up, I believe Tyrod was the only QB in that game NOT to throw an INT.

I think a lot of teams are going to disect that film this offseason on how to stop or at least disrupt him.

They can do that all they like, but while they're trying to do that, he'll be improving his game, thus making it tougher on opposing defenses.

In the first game Tyrod threw three interceptions against the Patriots. How did that make the Patriots defense look silly? Silly good?

He had a bad start to his 2nd career start and then almost led a very impressive comeback. It went both ways that day.

The last pick wasn't his fault. The receiver CLEARLY did not hold onto the ball securely enough. In fact it could technically could be debated that only 1 of those picks was truly his fault.

Honestly, if I'm the Bills I don't touch this. I know Tyrod is frustrated with his contract and he has every right to be but Rex Ryan has been after him for a LONG time.

Seriously, the Ravens turned down multiple trade offers for TT from the Jets when Rex was with them. I don't see him giving up Tyrod in a deal like this. Granted, he doesn't control the front office but I'd almost expect him to set the building on fire rather than let Tyrod go.

EDIT: Looking at this website it doesn't exactly scream reliable source.......did I just get trolled?

Apparently the straw that broke the camels back is the fact that the jets front office has been scouting QBs HEAVILY prior to the draft, and are thinking about drafting one around 16. If I'm Tyrod and i have a chance to head to Denver I'd be all over it. A free agency spot like this doesnt open often

A) I'm going to assume you meant the Bills office and I'll apologize because I don't keep up with them much at all
B) In that case, yeah I'd be all over it if I were Tyrod, too
C) But, Tyrod doesn't control the front office either
D) The Bills front office needs to be fired if they think there's a franchise QB in this draft. Sorry, Carson Wentz/Jared Goff/Paxton Lynch fans, but no.

What is Denver going to do with an option QB? s/

That is clearly Bill Paxton. This is Bill Hudson:

As a Broncos fan I've never wanted anything so bad in my entire life. That includes winning the Super Bowl last year. Holy shit that would be amazing. I was pumped when we had Carlton Powell or Vinston Painter on the team (and obviously psyched to have Royal too). Tyrod = greatest.

So it equates to the Broncos giving up their 1st round pick for Tyrod? As happy as that would make me as a Broncos fan, I just can't see it happening. Not to mention this website doesn't seem terribly legit.

And essentially the Bills trade a first and second round pick this year plus a third round next year for this year's #2 overall.

Seems like a bit much to give up, when you do have a QB right now, however upset he might be. And this year's QB class is no 2012 class.

Haven't seen anything from Tyrod himself indicating that he is "disgruntled"... simply his agent trying to get his client a better deal... you can't blame him. Tyrod is nothing but the consummate team player and has conducted himself consistently as such. To portray TT as "disgruntled" in that article is misleading by the author of it. Tyrod signed a contract knowing full well what it entailed, and I will be surprised if he goes anywhere else. We'll see.

Long live Rasche Hall

Would be a fantastic trade for Cleveland and Tyrod. The Bill seem to be giving up a lot.

As a Browns fan I want this to happen BIG TIME. Browns will need 4 first round picks to get one right and Tyrod gets to a team with a chance to allow him to make a name for himself.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

The Broncos are giving up peanuts if this happens and the Browns are making way too much sense for this to actually go through. Bills get number 2 overall pick, that ain't bad but they'd have to take a QB and this QB class is

As much as I would love to see my Broncs acquiring T2, I'm not thinking this would be an Elway move.....

BroncsZoo

Although, Tyrod in blue and orange.... good thing Denver has gone back to orange crush.

The funny thing is that Denver wanted Tyrod last year, but he made the decision to go to Buffalo for a chance at the starting gig (he rightly assessed there was no getting around Peyton last year). If he ends up on Denver it would be the ideal arc for him.
The real problem is that his agent should be fired for putting him in a two-year deal. He was the perfect candidate for a 1-year prove-it deal for 3 mil (standard back-up QB money) and right now he would be shopping himself around. Instead, he's stuck with another year of backup money behind a bad offensive line as players with less upside and less success are making out like bandits.

I don't blame Denver for desperately trying to get anyone... I mean if not Tyrod, they're staring at a potential Sanchez-Manziel depth chart this year and..... yeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

"When I was growing up, Virginia Tech was a school that was kicking ass and taking names, and it's time we get back to that" - James Franklin

I am hoping that Elway wouldn't touch Manziel with a 12 foot stick. Cause a ten foot stick is just to close...

If anything, the broncos proved last year that they don't need a quarterback. Our QB play was atrocious all year last year except for like 3 total throws.

The Rams-Titans trade just made this very much a possibility.

Rip his freaking head off!

And for those who might not be aware...Rams/Titans trade.

Rams get a first, fourth, and sixth round picks, all of which would be the first pick of those rounds.

Titans get a first, two seconds, and a third this year, plus a first and third next year.

That means that the Titans move down in round one (from 1 to 15), essentially move their fourth and sixth round picks into the second round, and add an extra third round pick, plus two picks next year.

By comparison, the Redskins gave the Rams three first rounds and a second for the #2 overall in 2012.

EDIT for the nifty graphic that the NFL made up explaining it:

And by the way, I can't believe the Rams would make that trade after the impressive and awesome trolling they did with their captains when they played the Redskins.

Rip his freaking head off!

Hey, I'm just glad that RG3 didn't end up in LA this year. That would have been the ultimate kick in the nuts.

It was a great deal for the Titans. 4 picks in the top 76 this year.

yeah that's crazy. The Rams got worked on that deal. I don't really care because I have basically no opinion of either team but DAMN! The titans definitely came out on top IMO

Onward and upward

Even Madden would consistently reject that trade, even if it would give you the option of using more than 3 players or picks in a trade.

Franchise mode was too easy in that game. I'd just play as the Chiefs, trade everyone worth a damn, max out on first round picks before the season starts, and then draft a team that was absolutely loaded by year 3.

Rip his freaking head off!

This is the first article this site has published since September 2015. I don't find this credible.

This is a site that has articles entitled "Hookers boxing naked for $80" and "How many sticks of butter could YOU eat in five minutes?". Some quality stuff right there.

I bet you don't even have a clue how many sticks of butter you could eat...

Well...? How many sticks of butter could you eat?

No worries, I'm not knocking you for sharing the article. I find it relevant and an interesting read. Thank you for finding and sharing it.

It's worth considering and discussing but I won't believe these trades are actually being considered until a more credible source reports on it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a Tyrod fan and loved seeing him shine in Buffalo, but

earn a paltry $3 million

? I would gladly "suffer" to be paid that! Yes, they are talented, but is $3 mil a salary to complain about....really?

I do wish him the best.

It's all about relativity. What if you found out that you were being paid about 20% of the average salary for your job?

Whether you're making $7/hr or $7,000/hr, if you're making 20% of what your counterparts are averaging (and you're doing an adequate job), then you have reason to complain.

And on top of that, these guys have zero job security. All of us with desk jobs know that we can work for quite a while and not worry about our bodies falling apart. As long as we can sit, think, and type we're good. Instead these players have to endure beatings at least 16 times a year. Plus, the average NFL career is 3 years. Of course all of the players are looking to get as much money as possible. They don't know when their career will end from injury or teams not wanting them.

"That move was slicker than a peeled onion in a bowl of snot." -Mike Burnop

I get your point but once your salary is over $200K I really feel no sympathy for you, you are making way more than the average person and in this case it is to play a game. If someone that makes much then blows through it and does not save any for a rainy day knowing that your career is relatively short then once again no sympathy. Everyone is taught at a relatively young age to save a bit every paycheck, I know I have since I started working when I was 14.

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
“I served in the United States Navy"

Everyone is taught at a relatively young age to save a bit every paycheck, I know I have since I started working when I was 14.

Unfortunately, this is not the case. You most certainly cannot assume every kid being brought up in any possible circumstance grows up understanding this. You, me, and many others are lucky to be taught this by parents/mentors at a young age, but not everyone has that.

This is also the reason people push for public schools to teach personal finance. Parents who are bad with finances raise kids who are taught bad practices. Even worse, parents who are smart with money can end up assuming it's common sense, and their kids never realize how hard their parents worked to live their lifestyle.

Looks like any chance of this rumor coming to fruition just went out the window. The Browns have traded that #2 pick to Philly for 5 draft picks. (Trade details)

I can't help but wonder why Amnesty International, the UN Human Rights Commission, or some other such group hasn't stepped in to stop this. Surely giving the Browns that many additional draft picks has to be a human rights violation, doesn't it?

Careful..

To be fair, Washington would be a part of this mess, if they hadn't already traded out of this first round for a player they already cut.
